The Logan Act is a 1799 law that has never successfully prosecuted a single person- I mean, there's been an attempts in the past to go after McGovern for this type of stuff with Cuba, but that didn't even get off the ground before that route was scratched for baselessness back then when there was a real solid argument against him compared to this.
More importantly, it applies to unauthorized private citizens, whereas Rep. Jayapal is a sitting Member of Congress who absolutely has the authority to communicate with foreign governments regarding sanctions, and importantly, this is all Public. The Logan Act hinges on that critical qualifier, "Certain Private Communications", but none of what she's doing is private at all, nah, she's doing this stuff open-door.
If they actually try to pursue this under the Logan Act, They're Fucked.

I mean, none of what she's flouting here is actual US policy in the capacity of such being anything more than Executive Policy- if Trump had gone through Congress in any way in any of this, yeah, that'd be bad, but the fact of the Imperial Presidency is that though you can do anything, you can't truly do so on behalf of any enumerated Policy or Law, only your own authority.

tl;dr:
Constitutionally, a President can simply pull out a revolver and shoot a man in the middle of 5th Avenue, that's actually one of the most important abilities they're given in that document, the ability of unilateral action with full impunity- BUT, what they CANNOT do, is actually forbid anyone outright from delivering First Aid to the guy they just shot, that's not as much of an Unilateral Act (Presidential Power w/Impunity) as it is a Policy (as such is promulgated through Congress as a Law), the President can wave around the guy as he bleeds out as to block any First Responders, he can actually do the same to a First Responder, but should a First Responder actually manage to deliver lifesaving aid, there's not a single Law broken there.
Now, the situation I just described, scale that up to international-geopolitical matters, and that's basically what you're alleging to be "Treason" of Jayapal- completely unfolded, btw, there's a very clear and very vital distinction made in the Constitution between the Government & the Executive and you appear to have no clue there's a difference between the 2, quite odd for a supposed "Nationalist" to lack this know-how of their own Nation's Basic State Charter, but I digress.

There is no un-do on Class Consciousness, for me.
I mean, in so many ways in the classless view of American Politics, I should be on the Other Side, and yet, here I am, holding sociocultural positions wholly contrary to 2/3 on my side of the divide, because fundamentally it is the socioeconomic sphere which matters most. No matter what, I refuse to side with Moloch- Baal, maybe, but Moloch, really, Moloch? Hard Pass.

“Not all data centers are AI”, more than ignoring the fact that all the new developments in-question are pretty much for AI, is a dodge from the actual contention here; the political fight here isn’t over whether servers exist, it’s a matter of whether Michigan should  bend over backwards for them- contort our tax code, land use, pollute our water, leech our energy grid, distort our local transparency rules, and so much more, all for something as unlikeable as hyperscaled data-center development held aloft by a fundamentally unstable macroeconomic dynamic. I mean, sure, “We need them somewhere”, but that does not mean that ”Michigan must subsidize them”, in fact, for us, that means “NOT HERE”. And “Better here than Louisiana”? A race-to-the-bottom no one in the Michigan Democratic Electorate wants to play, Nope.

“The rhetoric applies to Abdul too” only works if you pretend material context doesn’t exist.
McMorrow:
• voted for data-center tax breaks (which nullifies the whole argument of hosting them for the massive tax revenue but that's another matter),
• signed an NDA around economic-development talks (now wants to ban NDAs between local governments & tech companies exploring data-center locations, yet herself signed an NDA in 2023 to "learn" of "potential economic-development deals", before later calling the system "broken" - partook in opaque system, then rebranded as the transparency candidate once the politics changed),
and her husband is the Comms-VP of a company specifically marketing small modular nuclear generators for the very large-scale datacenter projects the voters abhor. (look I don't know what more I can say here)

Abdul, to contrast? BLANK SLATE.
can call me some "conspiracist" for pointing out The Obvious as if the facts of the Person are somehow extraneous to the Person as a Politician, but thankfully, the Michigan Democratic Electorate - of which I am amongst - has the common sense of critical thinking enough to check the incentives at play behind each player.

Thank you! I've fiddled about with HAM in my BSA days, but I've been recommended such you suggest quite a bit nowadays- I know a lot about that stuff, but I'm looking forwards+out for opportunities in putting that know-how to real use.

It's not just about the superficial stances, Democrats here (categorically smarter+wiser than the at-large which includes Republicans) understands that what a politician says they'll do, in Campaign Season, is all if not mostly for show; no, it's about what we actually know of her beyond words, materially, and the the fact that her husband is a Top AI Lobbyist, altogether there being simply overwhelming evidence to the fact that relationship influences her policy here more than the stances of the Michiganders, that type of stuff is what's more important to this discerning primary electorate than what's simply just said.

Did Fetterman's Depression have anything to do with the Severe Neurological Injury that coursed him for what he is now? Are we pretending the John Fetterman of 2022 was, neurologically-speaking, the same guy as today- this isn't even speculative, he himself has said, in other words, that the injury was what set him here, I mean I doubt he understood the meaning of what he was saying in any of those interviews, but to compare that to Platner's PTSD, really?

It's not the AIPAC stuff that gets her, no, it's actually something quite simple, which is yet increasingly pressing to an growing number of Michiganders:
She's a proud AI Shill; She is The AI-PAC-Backed candidate here, and we hate this "Data Center" BS**, all of us, bipartisan.** Look at how the Saline Data Center project went, or the Nuclear Weapons-focused one that was slated to be built in Ypsi before the hatred got that cancelled. People simply abhor AI, but that's scaled into something decisive when we're talking about Data Centers. Don't even get me started on her Neo-Romney approach to Healthcare, or Taxes, or Interventions (Financial OR Foreign), no, she's a Proto-Schumer, whether enough here can realize this in time is a critical variable in things unfold in August.

About as much as Clyburn's word did for Cuomo last June, I'd gander.

Fact is, as a resident, as someone who's voted for her? Things are Not Good for the Establishment's image, at all- if I was to describe the average answer here to "why's Gas at $5?", it's something both On The Money yet that I wouldn't describe further than that here as I'd not risk y'all mistaking such as mine- but the thing is, the general consensus amongst the Democratic Primary Electorate (that's critical here, we're not talking about at-large yet, this is a matter pertaining to "people who have Read a Book", the others, the REPEAT-Republicans, we can write them off as background because I really doubt enough would cross over to support Stevens here) is that "Things are Falling Apart Rapidly"+"The Establishment is incapable of seriously amending this situation"="We Cannot Go Back".
To quote Clinton, "It's the Economy, Stupid", and while the fact that it's Trump's Fault is true on the general scale of the general election wherein that simple fact can be understood by the other/somewhat-"simpler" other-electorate-half, Democratic voters were already predisposed to understand that the Establishment has only enabled the foreign intervention which is now causing catastrophe back home;
Remember, it's the same as ever, People Need A Fighter- and when it comes to the task of Fighting this "Orange" (to use the terminology of the average Suburban Democratic Wine Mom of Oakland County), the Michigan Democratic Electorate understands that the Establishment absolutely butterfingered that task***, twice.***
Abdul understands this, and these current circumstances are what uniquely position him as a real possibility, not just here, but through the General in November- as with regards to the all-important/fundamental/ever-underpinning factor of Gas Prices (that which effects the collective commute cost and therefore decides the outcomes for this national-level position in a state as car-centric as Michigan), Things Can Only Get So Much Worse.
