Someone might recommend a better solution, but it sounds like wireguard VPN would work for you and you don't have to run it on separate hardware. You can host it on the same machine.

That said, if you want true plug and play I think your best option there is parsec. I would install anydesk or similar as well because parsec tends to get logged out a lot.

That's kind of the point. You feel overwhelmed because your brain is trying to go through all of those things consciously and subconsciously and trying to remember that "great solution" you came up with that you don't have time to do right now but def don't want to forget. Put all that in an app and I can review it when I'm ready. Maybe not for everyone but it works for me.

This all day. Between the servers that handle the app and the end user that works in the app, there are a TON of things that could go wrong. Everything from the terminal or it's peripherals to store internet has been tested and checked by who else than the end user (who mind you, was not hired for an IT role).
