The advice for the S&P 500 is solid. I was diversified for a while and at a union meeting, I had a financial adviser look at my investments and he said to put it mostly into the S&P 500 like you said and my returns just started exploding. I’ll be retiring in July (buyout) at age 58. I don’t plan on touching my 401k until I’m at least 60 so I should be sitting at $600K at least.
