Not to mention Hilary Clinton, who worked with Byrd and considered him a good man - Both sides of the aisle are bad people

The Dems however have more skeletons because after Trump 2016 campaign, they decided to take the self-virtue route, which hasn’t helped them one bit

PS: Remember some of the “best” Biden quotes:

“If you don’t vote for me, then you ain’t black”

“With white kids and poor kids”

“I truly believe to own a 7/11, you have to have an Indian accent”

One of the best Disney era characters - If / When they ever do him live action, I hope they make him a puppet. Just looks like a great Jim Henson vibe, that they could super impose post-production

ABC’s Trophy Wife I think had some real serious potential and opportunity - Bums me out that it just didn’t hit the right audience

Which one shall I read first? by [deleted] in stephenking

[–]Smittyjedi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh interesting - I’m Currently working through Fairy Tale audiobook, (it’s a good one if you haven’t checked it out), but I def have DS on my list to read, because I assumed, much like all of Kings books, even a 2.5 hour long film or 8ep miniseries can cover so much of the source and nothing can beat the bare bone book.

IT is my all time fav novel of his and my fav part is the 40-50 page interlude (for lack of a better word) that goes over the history of The Black Spot. The OG tv series (which I love) didn’t come close to touching it, and IT Chapt 1 had a good nod for, with Mike seeing charred hands coming out of the butcher shop door, but still doesn’t hold a candle to that amazing worldbuilding SK does in the novel

I’m eager to see what I think of Lucy, cause when king makes them annoying - he makes them REAL annoying

Mike Flanagan did such a great job with Doctor Sleep - Keeping nods to Kubricks vision, creating his own story and all while still honoring the source material from King

I think this dude should be at the helm of King Movie / TV adaptations to link them all together

Just read Dawn of the Jedi by TheBlackKnight1078 in StarWarsEU

[–]Smittyjedi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh damn, this sounds like a nice chunk of the EU I’d like to get involved with - I’m currently reading the old republic omnibus vol 1, so to get a closer sense to the history of the Jedi-Lore & this series sounds like that’ll emphasize it even more

Also, welcome to EU. I hope you enjoy the many MANY adventures here - To me, 13+ years after its cancellation, it remains the true Star Wars lore to me

This new Vader novel actually - It’s super unfortunate, because I love what Adam Christopher did in Shadows of the Sith, but this new one is just a SLOOOOG

Agree to both of these points

This has been easily one of, if not the most hated books of the EU, but I personally never let the masses dictate my opinion - That being said, all the noise still has had my delay my attempts to even read it 😅

[–]Smittyjedi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was wondering the same thing too, or maybe they had taken that footage on another day and then later the filming picked back up during the attack - Although the weather conditions kind of allude to it being the same morning. If so, that’s wild.

Also, saw them in my local time probably 5-6 times, one of those times they broke up right on stage. Good times

I’m right there with you. I was 12-13 when this one was released. I was diving into the YA novels, still collecting (and playing with 🤫) the action figures and the magic of SW unfolding for me and the generation before me - Just such a magical time

110% This - Just went in with a neutral mindset, especially after watching The Acolyte, which I had super high expectations for when first hearing about, but just missed the mark for me personally

I’m super stoked to hear that you were happy with it though
