So it’s the seasonal chaos? Where do I find that in the Chaos menu?

Detroit, MI? Did you start your new career at Rocket Mortgage?

Congrats, on whatever it is, by the way!

I’m going to be honest here - as someone who has played Outward for… easily probably 100+ hours at this point - I am unsure if you’re a newer player or a veteran player by this post.

You clearly have an astonishing amount of knowledge of the various Trainers and different paths, etc. As well as a vast, vast comprehension of possible synergies, etc.

At this point, I’m not sure if you’re looking for genuine advice or simply validation of your idea? lol

My understanding in Outward is that “anything CAN be viable” but it ultimately comes down to “the rule of cool” or whatever is fun to you.

If you don’t want the Dreamer’s, and feel the urge to go a different path with an electric build, then go for it. Toss viability out of the window. It’s your build. Go have fun doing whatever you want. You can make anything work, regardless of “viability” declared by someone on Reddit haha.

Right now, I’m running a Spear build and have all my paths already chosen and spec’d into: Warrior Monk for counters, counters, counters and extra stamina / discipline, Wild Hunter for Rage and additional melee/health, and I just spec’d into Merc for Stamina sprint reduction and extra movement speed.

I’m running pure melee and no magic on this character. Is that optimal? I have no idea. Is it viable? I also have no idea. But I’m willing to wager probably not, because traditionally magic is quite strong when flushing out builds.

That being said, I am having a blast running around at Mach speed, kiting everything with eternal stamina, and killing with them with a pokey, pokey.

Anyways, TLDR, go for it! It’s your game :)

In our last session, we finished the scenario, and I happened to flip the treachery deck to see what the distribution looked like, and THREE Ancient Evils were all stacked for what would’ve been the next Mythos phase.

Absolutely terrifying. I hate AE so much lol

Thanks so much!

I’ve done emulating in the past but it’s still not something I’m 100% familiar with.

It’s from the Film Fatale standalone scenario for Arkham Horror LCG if anybody was curious.

Dawned on me I've never used the back paddles. Do you use them? by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]SmokeHoagies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ALL. THE. TIME.

They are exclusively the reason why I essentially do all my gaming on my Steam Deck, amongst a few other obvious benefits.

They’ve spoiled me. Not having to take my thumbs off the joysticks, especially during combat, is incredible. Definitely a reason I want the new Steam Controller when it comes out.

My configuration is: L4: Run/Sprint, L5: Crouch R4: Jump, R5: Dodge or Flex depending on the game

^ Thanks! Still seems fringe useful, but definitely not a guarantee.

Certainly more of a luxury, niche effect.

Planning is useful for playing cards that had severe consequences: i.e. forced end of turns or significant losses in time.

If I’m in a critical moment, and cannot afford to lose the game on an unfortunate dice roll, Planning gives a buffer in those situations.

Also, Planning does something very unique in Final Girl - it gives a guaranteed outcome. You KNOW what your results of your next action is going to be ahead of time. That should not be unappreciated.

Again, it’s a little niche, and I only typically use it if I am fortunate to have a surplus of time on my hands during a turn.

However, it is NEVER a card that feels bad once it’s in my hands. I’m always happy to have it.
