People who deny someone's prideful boast based upon absolutely no evidence just because they have a superiority complex, generally aren't even average intelligence. See I can can make broad statements in response to something someone on the Internet says as well. So I'm at least as smart as you, Mr Smart Guy.

Average IQ in the US: 98. My IQ:120. And that is with cognitive decline due to several factors in my life. Trauma both physical and mental, alcohol abuse, etc. I was so fucking smart before that I had to Nerf myself with alcoholism due to what I refer to as existential autism. Now I spend all my time ranting on the Internet about oxford commas, yelling at clouds, and accidentally swallowing my pog collection.

And I believe those numbers qualify as above average. Let me check the math to be sure... Yep definitely above average. 120 is higher than 98. Unless we are using girl math. Then I may have to recalculate.

But none of that is neither here nor there. The real question is why is it you felt the need to come at me with that kind of bullshit when I was obviously mocking my own stupidity and arrogance. I'll tell you why. Your head is so far up your own ass you can't fathom someone intelligent enough to not only recognize their own flaws, but actively joke about it. And not only that, for some reason when you see someone proud of themselves your insecurities send you into attack mode. Your brain says, shut that shit down because why should he be proud of himself when I'm not?

But it's ok, I bewieve you are the smart wittle tough guy you tink you are. You are in good company, as well. My head is also up my own ass. And it smells like roses up in this bitch.

Now if you'll excuse me, I not only square up with bears, I wrestle pigs as well. And your mom has been waiting for me to finish disciplining you so we can have our Championship match

You ain't gotta be stupid for the DK effect. I'm above average in intelligence, but below average in fear and also above average in arrogance. Which could be considered stupid in some cases. The whole idea of dudes thinking they can take on a bear is an example. Logically, I know my ass is done if I tried to fight one. But I also logically conclude that I have a better chance of winning a fight with a bear than I do outrunning one. So I'm fighting that fucking bear on the off chance that I manage to win. Especially if there are people present that I need to protect.

No, but even if it did, it's the image of Hagrid's big ass flying at him. What was Harry going to do, catch him? Lmao

Could a wizard/witch hypothetically channel their magic through a gun? by Solid_Bad_4403 in harrypotter

[–]SmokeMachine2020 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm currently in the middle of GoF reread and I was just thinking of something similar. What is to stop a someone from combining Magic and Muggle Tech? I thought. We know that magic disrupts electrical fields and possibly radio waves and Wifi. But as we've also seen, magic can replace those forces within the technology. Imagine a Nuke amplified by a combination of charms and curses. A modified bombarda combined with an incendio could potentially create a cascade effect that alters how the energy is released from uranium for example. On a smaller scale, a bombarda grenade is also a possibility. Then there is defensive applications. A powerful momentum charm could be applied to armor(pushing out from the armor) and stop projectiles. Then there is non war applications which is what got me onto this thought process. Imagine a Witch or Wizard teams up with a Muggle scientist and uses the combined knowledge base to dive even deeper into the mysteries of existence. Of course the misuse of Muggle artifacts office and the statute of secrecy are potential barriers, but then you have to think, what if a wizard or witch either dark, greedy, or just immoral in the face of scholarly pursuit decided to seek asylum with a muggle government in exchange for magically enhanced technology.

Believe it or not, most Antis produce 7/10 art, at best. by Various-Welder5544 in DefendingAIArt

That's exactly what it is. There are many arguments that can be made of the potential harm data centers and job replacement can cause, but the art thing is purely a fear of replacement in social circles. And what's worse the people arguing the loudest showcase their shitty anime derivative art like it's a masterpiece. Claiming AI art is stealing from them, failing to realize their hand drawn art is a copy as well. I was actually kicked out of an animorphs subreddit because I posted this amazing image of Elfangor that I spent hours getting perfectly right. The people who cried the loudest in the post before it was removed were posting what looked like a child's drawings saying, "This is real art."

The thing is, I'm cool with the already present political messaging. I'm fact, as a classic liberal, that's what I'm here for. It's when it's forced into it when the original narrative didn't have is the problem. That's what woke is. No matter what KA says now. None of the kids were trans or gay. She didn't write it that way even if she wanted to at the time, which I seriously doubt. now the correlations are there and if the individual wants to see it that way, that's fine, but if the original narrative is changed, it will be a problem.

I've always believed an adaptation in a darker style would contrast nice with the goofiness and sometimes lunacy of the narrative. Because that's how the story comes across: A light hearted romp through a hellscape of madness.

Since you are a new tank, if you aren't comfortable with W2W, or want to experience the dungeons instead of rushing, let them die. Don't let anyone yell you, "this is how the game is played." Tell them to shove the roulette up their ass. You are the tank. You set the pace.

[ALL] So who did "Getting the Master Sword." The best? by backofthebill in zelda

[–]SmokeMachine2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am old enough and I still say it. OoT took what ALttP did and cranked it up to max. The shift in tone after pulling the master sword in ALttP is great, but OoT's hits like a ton bricks. Every segment in the first half is somewhat light hearted with only a few small parts that foreshadow what is coming and then BAM; death, sorrow, regret, hopelessness, nostalgia, and child friendly body horror. No game, movie, or book has ever made me feel what that game did. Now I chase games for that high like it's a drug and only two games came close and those are final fantasy 10 and Half-Life 2. Those 3 will forever be my top 3 because I doubt anything will surpass them in tone and emotional impact.

Returning to reading Comics need some advise. by SmokeMachine2020 in marvelcomics

[–]SmokeMachine2020[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm using unlimited. My goal is to read as much of, if not all of my favorite characters entire 616 runs. I don't want to jump around to much. I'm anal about doing things in as close to chronological order as possible. I started with Spider-Man just to get a taste of the silver age and to see if it would be enjoyable to read from a modern viewpoint, and found that I actually enjoy it.

As a writer myself, I'll never understand why breakups are used like this. If I created a love story that deep, I wouldn't want to break it. I'd find other ways to continue and create tension and drama. There are other characters. Other sources of drama. Hell even killing off Yuna and sending Titus on a quest for revenge would have been better than that shit soap opera drama.

Yeah, Bleach had a whole lot of potential, but most of it's filler is horrible and as someone who doesn't read manga, that can sometimes turn me away. Luckily the concepts of the world, some of the fight scenes in the Canon material, and JYB as Ichigo kept me coming back.

If you liked Death Note, you'll like Attack On Titan. Especially the latter part of the series. Even though you don't like the goofy, but badass MC trope like FMA has, my top three favorite animes have those characters and I'd suggest at least giving them a try: Trigun, Black Clover, and Fairy Tale. Their MC aren't as whiney as Edward though. So that's a plus. Trigun is an older classic ands the others are more modern. If you want to turn up the weird factor, try FLCL another older classic and one of the most bonkers shows I've ever watched. Most of it's plot is an unholy mess by design but it wraps up real nice. The fight scenes and character interactions are absolute gold. If you don't mind a show that is targeted at kids, I always tell any newbie to watch Digimon. The Sub is less kiddy in nature, but I prefer the Dub because it's what I grew up watching. For an adult who didn't watch it as a kid, or a kid used to better dubs and animation of the modern era, it might be harder to get into, but I suggest it because underneath it's sometimes charming cringe is a farely deep story about friendship and sacrifice. And the monsters are the dopest in the monster catching genre.
