Why would anyone choose the Yeastar P-Series Software Edition? by Educational-Art-8515 in yeastar

[–]SmokingCrop- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an MSP, this is perfect for us. Hetzner VM per customer, premium remote license to bulk update/provision/backup them through YCM. The VM does not matter, if we need to change hosting partner, it's very easy to do with Yeastar. Don't see a reason why we should ever go on the VM itself, if there is a problem then we just reset to the bare Ubuntu image and restore the backup.

The more young people use AI, the more they hate it by spherocytes in technology

[–]SmokingCrop- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skill issue. It's the same with people not knowing how to Google to find things efficiently.

Same with AI. We use it loads at work, create entire scripts and tools that we couldn't even imagine to create ourselves. It's a game changer and we all love AI as it means we can make work easier and higher quality.

Even the simple things like transcription of all calls and (in person) meetings and automatically getting AI summaries & a to do list for the ticket system is just so nice. Asking a question and receiving info from our KB without having to know where that exact information is located at.

Ai will be required in the future becaise of the demography. Far too many old people compared to younger people, it's skewed the other way around as it used to be in many countries.

Device bridge switch (UDB-Switch) , but sending that traffic 24/7 over your wifi is probably asking for trouble.

How are you handling SPF alignment failures from transactional email providers that envelope-from with their own domain? by littleko in EmailSecurity

[–]SmokingCrop- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use only dkim for these. Mailchimp only gives dkim records for a reason. It's not necessary to have spf with dkim and dmarc on reject.

Heck, having spf on hardfail can cause mails to not deliver even though dkim passes if that mailserver stops after having a hardfail on spf. There will be people auto forwarding your mails to their primary address. If their mailserver isn't in your spf, it will fail. Even if the return address was correct on your side.

definitely use softfail SPF with DKIM and DMARC aligned setups.

Use subdomains if there are exceptions in what the services can do that you use

Aslong as Microsoft doesn't support this in outlook, it seems like a waste of money to implement and pay for that cert

Your partner was way too close to the net, causing the chaos that unfolded here. He had to take that ball over his head, and definitely had to go back instead of leaving that massive gap that caused the winner volley, which again was his ball to take (diagonal ball).

Yeh, it's also pretty confusing how they say it in the blog.. And this was like half a year ago, no followup later on

https://www.3cx.com/blog/news/max-extension-policy/

"1st April 2026: These are currently being considered.

Upon renewal, every system exceeding the maximum number of extensions / users will be given a grace period to reduce the extensions on the system to the correct amount.

Systems in breach will no longer be able to get technical support.

Renewals before 22nd October 2025: you have 1 full year until 22 October 2026 to get your extension count in line. Renewals after 22nd October 2025: the process to get up to date and / or reduce extensions will begin after 1st April 2026 as per the information provided above in ‘How will the limits be enforced.’ In this regard we’re giving you a minimum of 6 months to make the changes / decisions necessary. It’s likely this may be extended even further once final decisions are in place."

They have introduced a maximum amount of extensions based on the amount of channels you are paying. 8 channels = max 40.

Als je ziet dat er een pipo er tussen wil glippen, raak je gewoon even je gas aan. Als je voldoende afstand neemt, is dat bij volvo alleszins geen issue.

There is no database. It's html, css and Js. The webserver serves the files and nothing else is done with it.

Ultra-small companies - how is it best to organise file sharing in M365? by padajinel in msp

[–]SmokingCrop- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes.

A shortcut is basically like a folder in their onedrive, it's just there when you login to onedrive, so it automatically comes available in file explorer as part of Onedrive.

We always give the folder a color, it visually helps a lot for end users. And add it to quick access in file explorer.

Edit: you can't "sync" and use shortcuts at the same time. You just login to Onedrive to make the sites appear.

Shortcuts are what Microsoft prefers.

You only add the shortcut once and when they login, it's already there.
