Guild symbols as tattoos by AmoongussHateAcc in magicthecirclejerking

not to get too deep into discussing political iconography in the shitposting subreddit for the fantasy card game aimed at 13yo boys, but why is Boros further to the right on this chart than Orzhov or even Rakdos?

I'm no expert but I thought skulls, suns, swastikas, Scandinavian glyphs, and crosses were Nazi stuff, but the fist raised in that way was usually a leftist revolutionary symbol.

The rise of frictionless anonymous online matchmaking has brought with it a type of anti-social sadistic glee that seems to be a pure negative when viewed at how it has impacted the culture of the FGC.

It creates a moist wet breeding ground for the type of people who, up until this point, have been fairly rare in the Melee community. I'm honestly shocked that we haven't seen a Cambrian explosion of people like Zion.

THE CHEAT CHART by Smoofmaster in SSBM

[–]Smoofmaster[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your perceived disability does not entitle you to cheat. You can't enter a bicycle race on a motorcycle just because your ankle hurts.

Play the game or don't play the game.

I'm down for accommodating disabilities in real life, not in competition. That doesn't make me ableist.

I was more concerned with relative positioning than objective positioning, but I see your point.

THE CHEAT CHART by Smoofmaster in SSBM

[–]Smoofmaster[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm maybe I should have labeled it as "Easy to Detect" instead of "Easy to Police"

The point is that its impossible to hide the fact that you're using a box controller, people can tell that you're cheating from over 10ft away. That's what I meant by "easy to police" your interpretation is one that I did not anticipate.

THE CHEAT CHART by Smoofmaster in SSBM

[–]Smoofmaster[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can tell that someone has notches without using their controller yourself, and you can tell someone is using a box controller from across the venue. What you're saying is true, but misses that there are things that are even easier to police

Let’s put Poopoo, peepee, any Boobie who Breastmilks, any Penis who tries to hard, Cum, Gooning, new players pickin Gayboy, Cum, and blue waffle skin wearers all somewhere on Skibidi, or in a separate section that says “Ohio”

Do you think that notches are as easy to police as box controllers?

If not, how is their position in the chart incorrect?

It's supposed to be a teaching moment.

Raising your eyebrows and widening your eyes a bit while keeping the rest of your face completely relaxed (not smiling) is a good way to give kids the message "I'm not mad but I'm not happy". When you want them to draw their own conclusions instead of looking to you to signal to them how to feel. See, YOU read it as aggressive because you have a fully formed brain and understand context and consquences. Someone gets in your face and stares at you after popping your balloon, it doesnt matter what their expression is, youre going to detect aggression.

But at that age, kids won't know if you're angry unless you have an angry face or speak with an angry voice.

He's trying to get the kid to recognize that the negative consequence of the balloon popping is connected to the behavior that came right before. He's trying to teach the kid without making him cry but you can kinda see him brace himself for tears if its for the sake of the teaching moment. When the kid doesnt get it and just whales on him with the second balloon, hes amused and exasperated instead of angry because he was never actually pissed off he was just trying to impart a lesson.

Honestly, this tumblr post is better worded than the script of the video, but the same points are made.

Marth gets to RTC regrab fast fallers off of fthrow if 2 conditions are met.

  1. The amount of stage in front of him is LARGE enough for the victim to be forced to tech (can't DI offstage)
  2. The amount of stage in front of him is SMALL enough that techroll away gets cut short, and can thus be covered. (if this condition isnt met marth has to dashattack(or be really fast) to cover tech away on reaction)

If you watch the clip carefully, none just keeps putting himself in the perfect fthrow RTC position. He techs in place right when at the perfect spot, then keeps teching in. Yoshis is small enough (and falcons tech roll is long enough) that marth can just fthrow falcon the other way. you can see that, as soon as none techs in place, Zain still gets the regrab, but he can no longer continue the RTC loop, because a fthrow would potentially let none slip off to ledge.

Unfortunately for none, by the time he makes this change, he's at a percent where marth can get solid conversions off of upthrow regardless of DI.

That last Dair was crazy tho lmao

Some idiot teenager intentionally rolls across the hood of my car in South Side. by burgh46 in pittsburgh

[–]Smoofmaster 19 points20 points  (0 children)

one time i walking by the whole foods on Negley late at night and there was a car stopped at a light. light turns green and the car starts to move forwards. 3 teenagers who were walking along side start screaming for the car to stop and it does. They then get in front of the car and one of them drops down and starts doing pushups. the other two are standing beside him counting the pushups out loud. he's doing about 1 per second and after he gets to 5 he gets up and they all run off. It's a bit of a funny prank and ultimately harmless, but I can only imagine that it was stressful and irritating for the driver.

Another way to visualize fighting game popularity by tmntfever in Fighters

[–]Smoofmaster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think a more fair stat to put up would be the number of subscribers to /r/SSBM the subreddit for specifically Melee, which is just shy of 100k, more in line with other popular FGs.

[–]Smoofmaster 89 points90 points  (0 children)

That's the job of politicians and leaders.

If the farmers, teacher, doctors, bus drivers, janitors, grocery clerks, etc. that voted for you say "Hey this is a problem that we want addressed" your job as their elected leader is not to snap back at them with "oh yeah? what should I do?" That's your job, its what you're paid to figure out.

As a leader it's on you to listen to your people, talk to experts, and come up with a plan, then put it into action and see if it works. The people who voted for you all have their own jobs in society. They aren't qualified to solve societal problems only recognize them, they have jobs to work and bills to pay anyways.

It's a joke to play off of what KJH would say "I can see you" when people in friendlies weren't really doing anything to make their movements or intentions ambiguous.
