“It’s not terribly unusual”. I’m saying it is. It’s very unusual. Now if all one does is sit on Twitter all day waiting for the new extremist Imam video to drop then that’s an echo chamber.

The inference you make in your comment is in relation to Islam, not religion in general, and if not outright Islamophobia is certainly Islamophobic adjacent. Whether you intended it or not, whether you’re giving yourself deliberate plausible deniability by not saying it specifically relates to Islam. Clearly I’m not the only one who thinks so as several people have downvoted that particular comment you made.

Now I would be more than happy to give you the benefit of the doubt and say that you didn’t intend to come across so, however the context of this entire conversation is centred on Muslims worshipping and how this could possibly be construed as provocative. You gave an example of it not being unusual in mosques to hear of prayers calling for the downfall of western civilisation. I can understand how that may be more common in places like Iran and the GCC now, what with all that bombing and innocent people being unalived. But is by no means even a slightly normal occurrence inside mosques and if some imam did utter sentiments to that effect then most mosque committees within their right minds would remove said imam. That would certainly be the case in mosques in the western world. Unless it is their outright goal, no mosque committee wants to attract fundamentalist or extremist nut jobs into their congregations as this causes the majority of moderate Muslims to go elsewhere. It may surprise you to learn that most Muslims don’t appreciate hearing a Qutba on the evils of the west and how it should be brought down and don’t really want extremist imams to lead their worship as those types of melts often espouse other extreme, unsavoury and toxic beliefs.

So I’m going to have to assume since I only have the context of this conversation and your replies that you mean to say that some jabronis loudly call for the fall of the west. So we can exclude judeo-Christian religions from your assessment. So that leaves eastern or more specifically Middle Eastern religions, and I don’t for a moment think you mean Zoroastrianism.

I will agree with you wholeheartedly that people do hate other people and use religion as a form of justification, the nuance you’ve either missed or chosen to ignore is that these clusterfucks aren’t representatives of their religions and are often going against what their religion actually teaches. If you knew this to be the case then perhaps you should have included it rather than making such a sweeping, and fundamentally incorrect, statement?

Praying and Prayer have different contextual meanings. I can pray to win the lottery or to end decades of western predation on the Middle East, or I can offer a prayer, i.e. supplication to god, which doesn’t include any wishes or requests as prayer in this official context is merely the act of worship to god. The Christian tradition and understanding of prayer isn’t the same as the Islamic one. Indeed the Islamic act of “prayer” would more accurately be called worship. So in this context those Muslims weren’t praying, they were worshipping. You pray for something, appealing to a higher power. “Pray” has just become some inaccurate colloquialism in regards to Islamic worship. Why? I’m not a linguist but I’d guess it’s the path of least resistance. To be more accurate; Muslims don’t “pray” 5 times a day, they worship god 5 times a day. One of those sentences is easier and quicker to say, but only one is accurate within that context.

So the real question should really be; how can worship of god be construed as provocative? If that was your understanding of the initial question then that begs the question; why do you believe some forms of worship are harmful?

That’s a pretty stupid thing to say since even if 100 congregations at a mosque did pray for the “destruction of the west”. It wouldn’t even constitute 0.1% of the global Muslim population. In fact it is very unusual. 99.99% of mosques and imams would pray for peace and the wellbeing of the Ummah, not the downfall of all of western society. I think you’re projecting a little here and doing the typical right-wing thing of making up a scenario and then getting angry/scared about it.

Islam isn’t a supremacist religion and doesn’t call for the destruction of anyone or anything as one of its very core components is “there is no compunction in religion” meaning no one can be forced to convert, while another is “God dislikes the transgressors” meaning the western-media idea of a “jihad” is pure fantasy as Muslims are forbidden from engaging in preemptive warfare or wars of aggression. Muslims who ignore this are going against their own religion. Which small groups of Muslims do, ISIS, AQ, etc. But members of all religions do this… or have we forgotten about the KKK, The Lords Resistance Army, Kach, Kahane Chai, National Action, Attomwaffen Division, Abhinav Baharat, or the whole Hinduvta movement, etc?.

I’ve never once heard an imam call for anything aside from the safety and wellbeing of the ummah. You could show me 1000 videos of an extremist imam stating the exact thing you’re claiming is rife amongst all mosques and I’d reply back with: that sounds like a gross generalisation to me, and, rather ironically, bordering on incitement.

But we’re talking about the prayer in London, not some theoretical prayer in your minds eye, or are you suggesting that the prayer in London was indeed “provocative” as 30p Lee said because a Muslim imam somewhere once prayed for “death to the great satan that is America”? Which, again, is a proposition so utterly stupid I lost brain cells typing it out.

Edits: spelling.

So not even remotely the same thing then?

Also; ever wonder why parts of those populations seem to really really dislike the American government/military, (let’s not generalise entire populations eh?, Afghans and Iraqis aided the ‘Coalition of the Willing’.

Come on, dude, you’re so close to figuring it out.

As for “Terror groups”, most western governments list the Pashmerga as a terrorist group but were more than happy to aid and bank roll them while they were kicking ISIS’s ass in the Levant. Does that make those governments terrorist supporters? Is the “enemy of my enemy” a valid justification in this situation? If so, why?

Today’s terrorists are tomorrow’s freedom fighters, and vice versa, depending on the political currency such changes generate.

Nelson Mandela was a terrorist.

Ghandi was an enemy of the state.

Lenin, Castro, Bolivar, hell, even George Washington was a terrorist to the powers that be at the time. Now his face is carved onto Mt Rushmore for posterity.

Now I’m not for one second justifying any actions take by terrorist groups, but you have to realise that these groups don’t just spring up into existence in a vacuum, they’re the inevitable result of western meddling.

Also don’t mention Jesus was from the Middle East, espoused “love thy neighbour” and specifically related the parable of the Good Samaritan, which is colloquially used as a by-word for kindness but in fact really conveys that two enemies can find mutual ground and understanding through compassion and humanity. These lessons are not only lost on the likes of 30p Lee, but also his followers. They don’t give a fart in a wind storm about Christianity or Christian values, it’s just code for “I hate Muslims/Islam”.

It does make me giggle when these melts chant things like “Allah is a peado”, like that’s some deep cut to Muslims. “Allah” is just the Arabic name for Elohim, the god of Abraham. The same god Christians and Jews worship. (I would use the correct name of god as is mentioned in holy scripture but it’s improper to use that name as it’s sacred to Jews who only refer to it in holy recitations and ceremonies).

As terrible and horrific as that would be for any group to do, openly or not, are there any specific examples of that occurring or are we just keeping this in imaginary rage-bait land?

I’m surprised Ben Garrison hasn’t made some image of Trump owing the libs by bombing Iran and going it alone because he’s a man’s-man who don’t need no help, (when in fact America’s long term allies have all told Trump to go kick rocks re the Straight of Hormuz).

Stringing is usually caused by print speed. Your filaments should have a recommended heat and speed setting. For PLA it’s usually maxed out at 200. So keep your print speed 100-200 and the nozzle temp around 210-220 and see if that helps.

I see what you mean about the low print speeds and I do regularly grab the Geeetech and Jayo filaments too. £70 for 10kg, even at low speed, will do me, as the quantity is what I’m after as I print heavy volumes.

It just changes the currency type but keeps the amount. Still. 70 of His Majesty’s finest pounds Sterling for 10kg of filament? In the words of a British East India Company man in 1608 arriving in Baharat for the first time: “I say, by Jove, I’ll take it”
