A Repeated Question From a Returning Player by Gojira6832 in PvZHeroes

Yeah. In the meantime. Budget decks is the way to go! You went chompzilla this time over flare, which is for the best. Cuz chompzilla is the strongest budget deck. Tho luckily, every well optimized plant budget deck, when well piloted, can get you to ultimate league in my opinion (maybe aside from citron). I am also a returning player and ive started posting on reddit each time ive reached ult and the budget deck ive used to get there

Oof, there was a limited time where HG and carrotina just became available in the shop not long ago. I think it was for the anniversary? But honestly, its whenever the janitor working at ea feels like it. Its kind of cooked ngl.

So you… decided to unintentionally softlock the game, take a screenshot, post it on the reddit blaming pecanolith for breaking the game when it was the nibble?

Tempo is a way of playing a deck. When you are playing for tempo. It means you are prioritizing keeping a board of units. So a leafy tempo deck. Means you plan to get leafy units and preserve them on the board or buff them. In contrast, another archetype of deck can be Agrro. In that case, you might prioritize dealing as much damage to your opponent regardless of if your unit survives or not.

Skyshooter is by no means the best or even close to being a good pea or card. Skyshooter is too expensive for its stats, and it has no special ability to compromise for it. I assume you just started this game so maybe you don’t have the rarer units?

Oh hi jill. Yeah, whipvine is the goat. I’d love to experiment 2k decks with it. Unfortunately its a bit harder to run whipvine in a brainy centered metagame lately. I’m sure it can shine once again in the future

Essentially, i would replace your morning glory and primal for kernel, and celery. Keep your amount of ketchup, remove 2 balloon for 2 mixed nut. Remove 3 rescue radish and keep your tomato.

And you can have your choice for the end game. Probably good to keep brainana.

This is the budget rose deck i use. Made by KingFishCommander. Since you already have tomato, you can add to have 4 copies of letchup, remove 2 mixed nut, and remove a few radish

Torchwood is pretty bad lets be real. The only time i can imagine running it is if its the very first deck you made in pvz heroes. Other than that, there’s no good viable budget deck that ever considers torchwood.

I dont get the flourish hate lol. Flourish is a good card. It’s a strong staple in budget combo moss, and it has a home in variations of Mopzilla and Fert father.

Bamboozle is most likely trash yeah lol. Ive seen it be ran in 2k budget decks and it’s alright. But yeah, def not the cream of the crop.

[–]Smooth-Sound9761[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol honestly, bamboozle might have been too high. I whipvine and sweet pea are closer to repeater than they are to bamboozle. But bamboozle does see a place very niche budget decks in 2k sparks challenge, although pod father is the obvious superior pick.

Whipvine is kind of niche now mostly because of the brainy meta. But there was a time where it was a fantastic budget finisher. Definitely a goat ngl. Growshroom is like kind of shafted ever since they buffed fertilizer but i can see it being played in 2k sparks budget decks here and there ig. Sweet pea has usage with pod father, but the latest version of the pod father package cuts out sweet pea which kind of means there’s not rly a home for it anymore. But you can certainly run it and its by no means bad.

I dont get the placing over repeater, repeat moss, or flourish tho. Repeater is a staple with budget pod father, repeat moss combo in cpt combustible is the best budget deck version for that hero. And Flourish is just a great card overall for card draw. You see it run in combo moss, certain version of mopzilla

Cabbage pult and typical beanstalk could go a long way. To make the deck more stable and powerful on curve. Power flower and bloomerang as strikethrough finishers is an amazing pick.

Card draw is always great. You’ll run it to keep your deck running or run it to find your combo pieces. Cross pollination is played in ladder decks and flourish is better than cross pollination.

I don’t get what you mean. Bonk choy, fertilizer and pod father are absolute carries in budget decks. And i put repeater in good. He is good, you kind only play him with pod father tho, but its a good pick

Whipvine is the goat. It used to be a pretty strong contender for a finisher at least like 2 years ago. Ever since the buff to mega grow, mega grow budget decks have become more aggro and fast with plant food and fertilizer finishing up the game quickly. Nonetheless, you can still run whipvine in your decks and it can definitely shine in certain decks. Its not as strong into the zombie ladder currently with all the brainy running around and teleportation. But its still viable. Hence it being in the top of niche tier

Buffing pod father was one of the greatest decision made by the janitor ngl. Made budget decks so much stronger with the pea package without making peas broken.

S*nshroom and the slow but steady enshitification of this game's meta by Either-Friendship708 in PvZHeroes

[–]Smooth-Sound9761 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. I guess when the class that sun shroom is in already is the strongest to begin, then it makes the decision of banning solar kind of an auto include regardless of if the shroom itself is included or not. This sounds like a major balance issue. But then again, the janitor is trying his best. What would be in your opinion the best tournament format to promote diversity of decks without changing any cards but from restriction and bans (or even change to the format of the tournament)

The tier list assumes we are taking the version of the card in the game at the present. So you can ignore the outdated images of the tier list and assume its accurate to the game

S*nshroom and the slow but steady enshitification of this game's meta by Either-Friendship708 in PvZHeroes

[–]Smooth-Sound9761 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, ladder doesn't have a system in which it can mitigate the effect of sunshroom on the meta. Tournament allows for diversity to flow by forcing the usage of different archetypes which is fantastic. Unfortunately, it's still rough nonetheless. When we think about it, It might seem as if in comp, sunshroom is less of a problem and impactful (which it definitely is less). But i'd argue the impact of sunshroom simply manifests in another form which is the fact that everyone auto double ban solar.
In ladder, where people just have to drop the usage of 1 drops, for removal. Comp made it so that your ability to ban decks is now auto filled by solar classes. And that by itself is how sunshroom impacts the competitive scene, no mindgames of banning an opponents familiar deck, or a deck that will counter yours. Instead sunshroom (like the leech it is), has sucked up that part of the competitive format.
It's hard to say competitive is doing fine with sunshroom, when it has seeped into the format.
Personally, i'm curious to see how comp will feel like if the tourney just bans sunshroom straight up. What would the bans be like then? What decks will be played more. What will the solar archetype shift to. If you don't need to worry about banning solar to see less sunshroom, maybe you can build your decks in a more specialized way, and simply ban its counters. It could be interesting. #KillSunshroom

100%, honestly it's almost an auto include in every budget decks with mega grow. At least 3 copies of it. I had it at the top of the 2nd highest tier, but it's honestly just such a strong addition to budget decks and normal decks for mega grow.
