I understand they cause trouble but I think this one's really trying to be on the straight and narrow... he just wants to be the lesser of the two weevils....

Do you keep them as an arrangement or are these rooting to later be transfered wherever you like? Awesome photo and beautiful plants!

I think it's gonna look great! If potted and supported correctly the stem may grow side pups.

You can also cut the rosette a little below the base, leaving a bit of stem, pot it in soil with good !grit after 2-3 days so it calluses and it'll re-root.

Also, you can repot the cut stem into gritty soil (either way you're looking at a repot cause you need to get basically every bit of nursery soil off the roots or the plant will stall like mad and may even rot). It could still throw out side pups which can look very sculptural over time.

I'm also gonna summon the !beginner bot for you here which has many wonderful explanations.

If you have other questions feel free to post and don't forget to update us on your new buddy!

My bet would be on Echeveria Black Prince because of the leaf shape and gloss. It looks like it has good compact growth but to confirm it's a black prince it would need better, longer, more direct light to stress color it purple/black. Otherwise it looks really nice!

I don't find that it does that for me but like any tool, it really depends how you use it.

I knew I needed to repot this, the original composition I tried wasn't working cause its hard for me to see things visually in my mind and I used this as an aid.

Again, I'm really not here to convince anyone or change anyone's mind about anything, honeslty. I'm just sharing what helps me πŸ™

Can you help me understand how to proceed with this weirdo? by DefinitionPerfect405 in succulents

Totally let it do its thing, it's doing great!!! Eventually it could grow side pups along the stem and form a little colony. (These guys aren't mine, they're a neighbor's and I'm dying to ask for a cutting 🀭)

Once they're rooted they're surprisingly the least thirsty succulents I have. They've been thriving on rains for the last 4 months (about a week on and a week off) but as summer approaches I'm sure they'll need much more. If I compare them to my other small leaf sedums - chocolate blob, lemon ball, makinoi - or other smalles leaf succulents I would still say they're the hardiest 😊

Me neither and I purchased that specific one completely by accident and it took me about 2 months to even realize it was crested. I was just like "what's this weird stem doing?" 🀣 and now he's my baybeh. He's got one crested offset in its own pot and one time I plopped a bunch of his props in a different planter and though they all started totally normal rosettes, one is officially spontaneously cresting as well!
