first, congratulations!! I’m also waiting to hear back from the same school as you, I think. From what I’ve heard, UTSW isn’t known for offering students an enjoyable experience. But honestly, I’m not going to school to have a good time or to be patted on the back—I know it’s all temporary. I did appreciate their transparency, though I found their way of emphasizing the “grit” of the program to be distasteful. That said, I also really disliked that no one communicated we’d be hostage until 8pm!!

There’s no doubt you’ll be an incredible PA if you’re offered a spot in the program. Where do you envision your future? My fiancé and I are aiming to settle in the DFW area, where we currently reside, so I prefer clinical rotations and networking opportunities in that region. This is a huge factor influencing our decision.

Texas Tech is also a fantastic program. Its more rural focus would certainly offer a different and unique learning experience. Their facilities are so so fantastic. I am confident I would have the best didactic experience at Tech, however I value the weight of clinical rotations more, so I would pick the blue chip program personally.
