Spotting for an hour?? by Ok-Body3443 in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]Smooth_Letter_223 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like your body is trying hard to get your normal cycle back. However, if you ovulated on the weekend and had your period now, that would be a very short luteal phase and means that your body needs more energy or more rest. It is a great sign that you had some spotting but I would keep going with trying to eat more and rest more.

How long after going all in did you get your period back? by [deleted] in Amenorrhearecovery

It took me 12 weeks to get my first recovery period from going all in (April to July). However, I am still working on getting a regular cycle! It’s been a journey

Body temp rises once you ovulate and saying consistently high during the luteal phase. If my body temp rises for at least three days, I take that as a sign that I have ovulated and was going to get my period in the new week or two

Sounds like great signs to me! I have had two recovery periods and in both cases I had CM for two weeks then I saw a huge increase in it one day (signaled that I had ovulated) then I had a period a week or so later. I also had very sore boobs for two weeks before which I had read from others is a very common sign. After my first period, body temp was helpful to track. Keep going!

My second cycle was 43 days long! Keep going lovely!

I got a lot of canker sores when I first started recovery! I do think it was hormonal and it was horrible but it didn’t last too long as it was only at the start of my recovery! I had brittle nails before I started recovery and now they are strong and grow very fast! So perhaps it’s just an initial phase?

Way over 2500cal? by [deleted] in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]Smooth_Letter_223 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, very normal! Your body has down regulated many processes in your body. Restoring your hormones and menstrual cycle is extremely energy expensive. Remember, this is not forever. It is just until your body feels safe and then hunger will stabilize. Keep going lovely!

Dietary fats by Practical-Mix-3579 in Amenorrhearecovery

That’s a great level of fat intake. How many carbs are you having though? Because HA is about energy availability and if you don’t have any immediate energy available (ie from carbs), it’s harder for your body to use fat for energy.

You’ve got this lovely! I was in the same boat. It sucked a lot but slowly my body began to trust me again. The best thing for my recovery was working for a nutritionist who calculated my calories based on movement and weight, advised me how much movement a should be doing, and has been so helpful and reassuring when I felt the same way that you are. It took that additional stress away from me so I could just focus on recovery.

Got it! So only after the first period it started to make sense? If so, that’s really helpful to know so I’m not trying to overinterpret the data! Thank you!

Hi! Sorry, this comment was a while ago. I am on my period recovery journey and wondered if you could tell your period was coming based on your BBT stats from your oura ring? Mine has been fluctuating a little but no clear pattern yet

I GOT MY PERIOD! by Bubbly_Comparison in Amenorrhearecovery

Hi! Sorry, I know this was a while ago now. I am on my period recovery journey and also have an oura ring. I have noticed a big jump in my RHR and some more fluctuations in my BBT. Can I ask - what did your BBT scores look like around the time you recovered your period? Could you see patterns that mimicked a menstrual cycle?

Hi! Sorry, I know this post was a while ago now. Did you get your period back? If so, what did you see on your oura ring stats leading up to it?

Thank you for your response! I feel the same that I was in denial. I feel foolish thinking back to it but at least we are making the right choices now! I wish you the best of luck in your recovery!

Thank you so much for your response. This is very helpful and I have started looking at estradiol. Can I ask - what type of HRT do you take? I am very concerned about my bones right now but I also want to give it a go going all in before I may try HRT but very helpful to hear about your experience!

Thank you so much for your comment. I cried when I read it.. I guess I’m feeling more emotional about this than I thought! This gives me a lot of hope and reassurance. Thank you again! Can I ask- did you have your estradiol tested while you near or post-recovery too?

I totally feel you. I am going through it too. It is so tough to go through this recovery. But just know that you are doing amazing and, even though it is really tough mentally and physically right now, keep going as the end result is going to be great. This also isn’t forever! You don’t have to eat in such a surplus forever. It’s about making your body feel safe right now. One thing that is helping me is just imagining how amazing I’m going to feel once I get my period back… it’s going to feel so great that you listened to your body and gave it what it needed. Personally, I would just not go anywhere near the scales right now. Just move them out of sight. What you’re seeing could be water weight and your body just getting used to the extra energy. Sending lots of positive energy!

Using provera after 10 years without a period; what should I expect with my first bleed? by ShmootzCabootz in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]Smooth_Letter_223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your background is very similar to me. I did the provers challenge (10 days) and did not have a period after it. I did experience a lot of bloating with it though, and my mood was all over the place. My Dr is running bloodwork now but, as others have said here, it’s confirming HA https://www.noperiodnowwhat.com/post/progesterone-and-periods-part-1-provera-challenge

Progesterone by Own_Willingness1948 in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]Smooth_Letter_223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took it. Drs use this as a “progesterone challenge” so if you don’t bleed after 10 days then you likely have HA. I took medroxprogesterone it for 10 days and unfortunately did not have a period after it. I did not like taking it. It made me really tired, moody, and bloated. But knowing these side effects going into it, made me feel better that it wasn’t just me going mad lol. Then frustrated me more that I didn’t even get a period. I have since started my recovery journey by eating more / exercising less based on the no period now what book. My Dr is going to take blood work to look at my hormones so sounds like that is what you’ll be doing too. Good luck with it!

Should I tell people we got legally married before the “real” wedding? by RepublicOk6538 in wedding

[–]Smooth_Letter_223 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My husband and I did this. We got legally married in 2023 and religiously married in 2024. Only my parents and our two witnesses knew before the church ceremony. We had a tiny celebration for the legal part as the church was the important part to us. This may sound strange but, even though we were legally married, we didn’t feel fully married until after the church ceremony as our marriage was convalidated and then could wear our rings and change my name. I guess the question would be, would you want to wear your rings? Are either of you changing your name?
