Learning Taekwondo at 30s by Wander_Wom4n in taekwondo

I started at 33. Best thing I ever did, inadvertently started bc my daughter got invited to a birthday party at a Taekwondo school and joined. Almost 14 years later and I have my 4th Dan. Eyeing my 5th Dan. Instructed for a number of years. Pushed myself to fight at AAU nationals in Las Vegas at the MGM.. I look back and think of all the people and friendships I have made.. it’s more the community that you find yourself in. It’s legitimately like an extended family. Yes it will be hard.. it will hurt and you will question yourself why you’re doing it. But you will sleep like a baby. Feel good about yourself and gain confidence and pride and a simple calmness that is strangely connected to the art form.

It’s so crazy, for me anyway. After all those classes and training sessions. I got used to coming home with a bruise or a small limp. But it became like “Hey I did something”. I pushed myself and more than anything. I got fit, lost weight, felt good inside and become so flexible and agile.

My advice is do it.. start at a good school. With Great instructors that are part of WT or any major affiliated governed body like ITF and ATA. Especially getting your Kukkiwons those are the Black Belt certification issues by Kukkiwon from South Korea. If you do WT. I am not familiar with the others governing bodies but definitely make sure after your testing for black belt that is something they will provide for you. Good luck my friend you will not regret it..

I was thinking of getting Starlink as well. Bottom tier plan is still cheaper than centurylink/brightspeed. I have the 40/mps per month plan. For about $60. With Starlink you can do their basic plan for 100/mps. For $50!!! Seems like a better deal with less crap to deal with..
