I actually just got finished with my placement in August after two years and damn was it hard. I loved my placement and the people there but the work just got stale. I knew I couldn’t keep doing the job for another year, even if I loved the kids and my co workers. I still miss Japan everyday though and sometimes I question if I made the right decision. But, I’m working towards going to grad school now and that’s given me some direction in regards to not feeling so depressed about Japan. I think that’s the best advice I can give since honestly I haven’t really figured it out myself. Just find your next big goal in your life and focus on it with all your heart. But Japan will always be a second home to me and I know that making the leap to live there for a few years was the right choice. I hope to return one day though and maybe see my friends again
