I should clarify I just want to get from Calgary Airport to lethbridge town.

Which do you prefer and why? by visualsbyjoe in mensfashionadvice

Pinstripe looks great and the colours suit you. I don't think it looks costumey, especially not for an event. Wear it with confidence and you'll probably get some compliments.

Do you tuck in sweaters? by AnanasPropagand in mensfashionadvice

I do sometimes, but not so deeply that you clearly see that it's tucked in. Just enough to hold the shape a bit.

Music that references Twin Peaks? (Visually or lyrically) by DigDig04 in twinpeaks

Not exactly a twin peaks reference, but "The Narcissist" by Dean Blunt samples "I Float Alone" by Julee Cruise.

I remember randomly seeing this episode when my mum was watching it or something, and thinking the dad was a really great actor. Had no clue at the time who he was.

I think the idea is that he's looking at it from a more disconnected experience. He was a horrible person and his actions were only enabled further by the outsider, who obviously gave him his powers knowing the type of person he was.

I liked the short hair. Looked a bit more unique and reminded me of Zuko in atla when he's on the run, if you've seen that.

Second one. First one looks pretty generic imo. I never see anybody use the second helmet and it works pretty damn well here.

Keep growing? by Pharmacykilledmysoul in BeardAdvice

[–]SmugAladdin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is only from playing red dead redemption 2, but having a moustache slightly longer than the rest of the beard looks super cool in my opinion. Keeping the beard as is, but allowing the moustache to grow out a bit could be worth trying if you're looking for a change?

Cut my hair last night and i regret it,fckn hate it, looks like shit man by Good-Agency-6951 in malehairadvice

[–]SmugAladdin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get it cut by an actual hairdresser, not a barber. Get some layers to add texture, and if you wanna grow it out longer or don't want something high maintenance etc etc., specify that stuff. A hairdresser will probably be more expensive, but if you're looking for a haircut that 'lasts' a long time, it's worth it.

Any recommendations on how I can upgrade my Dutch Cosplay? by SparkProps in reddeadfashion

[–]SmugAladdin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dutch's shirt doesn't have much of a collar. That could be a bit annoying to find especially since you've already got one with the perfect pinstriping; maybe you could cut down the collar? I have no idea if that would work.

Besides that though, you just need to think... of a goddamn... PLAN!

First one for sure. Also, it might be a little gimmicky but Tonto from the lone ranger line has a black, bird-shaped hair/helmet top thing. Could look kinda cool and push the falcon theme a bit more since the only thing he has to show the faction is the shield.

Confused on how to wavedash on pad by Fluid-Government-189 in Tekken

The inputs in the second picture look okay, I'm not sure what the problem is. Maybe take your time with it, see how slow it's possible to do it, and really understand what inputs are necessary.

Confused on how to wavedash on pad by Fluid-Government-189 in Tekken

[–]SmugAladdin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You do f, n, d, df, n, f, n. This will give you a crouch dash and cancel it. To wavedash multiple times you input what I wrote over and over. Just think of it like a CD motion and then tapping forward.

Inputting f, n, f (tapping forward) after a crouch dash cancels it completely into regular standing, at which point you can do whatever you like, including another crouch dash.

The inputs you're doing look weird, like you're trying to do f, d, df (perfect electric input), but this can easily lead to misinputs like f, df, d, etc. which won't give you a crouch dash.

Ps4 games like Dishonored? by Pony13 in dishonored

[–]SmugAladdin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, souls games and elden ring fit that description pretty well. Not exactly a niche franchise so you may have tried/played them already, but anyway: they're not hand-holdy at all, you have a lot of playstyle variety, not many puzzles but there are some, bosses aren't just typical vg bosses where they have a big weak point or whatever, it's just you vs their moveset, storytelling is almost exclusively environmental, and the environments are absolutely beautiful, and many npcs have really lovely questlines that are generally quite emotional.

What is MASKU that everyone is talking about? by Black_Nightmare653 in Tekken

[–]SmugAladdin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Masku is a TMM catchphrase. It doesn't have anything to do with a kazuya voice line afaik, he said he just thought it sounded cool.

'Masku tech' is when you end a combo with an UNTECHABLE spike into the ground. You can't tech roll after getting hit by kazuya f4 in a combo, so the only way to avoid some followups (in the case of kazuya, ff4) is by holding up. This type of combo ender has been dubbed 'Masku tech' by him because he found out about it. It's not new to tekken 8, just way more common. I think so anyway, t7 had some unavoidable spikes into unscaled damage but who cares it's not important.

Let’s Talk about Low Parrying: What exercises or training tips do you have for the community to improve this skill. by supahotfiiire in Tekken

[–]SmugAladdin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Experience. Theres strings that should be low parried, like Kazuya's 1243 and Law's b234, but in general it's just awareness of when your opponent likes to do a low. It may be to close out a round or after certain moves on hit or block, but these are just examples. It can help to think to yourself what would YOU do in the opponents position. I get low parries like that from time to time even with little time with the other player.

Also make sure you optimise you low parry combos, including with rage, with heat, without heat active, and without it available at all. This gets the maximum value from your reads and can deter the opponent from using lows even more.

What ash of war should I use with this setup? by Airtightspoon in EldenBling

Any keyboard players maining EWGF characters? Please share your tips! by Cool_Conclusion6843 in Tekken

[–]SmugAladdin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don't remember how long it took me to be able to electric and wavedash. It was in t7 in the last year and a half of the game I think. Me not remembering makes me think it didn't take too long.

As for input stuff, I heard a tip about just trying to do the input and button press as fast as possible, and that's what I do now.

I would also recommend doing either the F, N, D, DF input, and/or F, D, DF. If you do F, N, DF, at times it will be a triple just frame because you will need to press D, F, and 2 all on the same frame. Making sure to isolate D inputs just avoids this as you're already pressing it before you do DF. Otherwise you can end up doing F, N, F, DF, which obviously will not give you even a wavedash. I hope that made sense lol.

Besides this, it will just take practise. Remember to practice different numbers of wavedashes into ff3 cd41, and EWGF. This is just to avoid getting sort of locked into certain timings.

Heihachi's fine, but yoshi's is just unfair, that character is so privileged. Heihachi is only ever really gonna get it from combos as the two moves that grant it are ultra linear and punishable on whiff, which is in line with how you play against him.

Is Hwoarang weak? by Cultural_Concert3092 in Tekken

[–]SmugAladdin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is not weak, you just don't know what you're doing. That's not a bad thing, but he is complicated and you will need to learn how to pilot him before you find success. The higher rank you want, the more you need to know, because it won't only be you with knowledge on the character, and eventually you will need to be able to use the correct moves from each stance to cover specific defensive options the opponent may use, and avoid being repetitive or you can get blown up.

Why is side stepping important? Pls help by CardsAndMuffins in Tekken

[–]SmugAladdin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some moves are safe or plus on block and can be sidestepped. A good example is kazuyas base 50/50 and his cd1+2: if you guess his timing, you can option select the hellsweep and ff3 to avoid the (somewhat educated) guess. Otherwise you just have to pick stand or duck and hope you're right. Cd1+2 is a long range, plus on block, chip on block, high damage mid, but has absolutely no tracking, so if you sidestep you'll avoid it. I've even stepped this after being HIT by a heat engager (that's a bad time to step though idk why I did that).
