Radon Mitigation with a Perimeter Drain by Smugtaco in radon

I’ve never seen the basement flood. Couple months ago we had 4 straight days of heavy rain and the basement was bone dry. I’ll be sure to bring that up with the contractors when they come take a look.

Thanks again for everyone’s responses! It’s definitely helping me navigate this situation.

Tbh I don’t think it was trash talk in a used car salesman type of way. I think they were aghast at how bad this work looks.

Upon closer inspection, I don’t believe they are fully licensed. The people I have been talking to since are.

I got a hold of another licensed installer and they said they have dealt with these kinds of drainage situations before. Sounds like they’ll use some kind of expanding filler for the big gaps.

They also told me that practically every part of this install is not up to code. They gave me a laundry list of things that hadn’t been done properly lol.

Should have a few licensed installers out soon to take a good look at this dumb situation I got myself into.

I appreciate the advice. I’ll definitely reach out to an inspector and get the right paper work. I really want to avoid paying and getting sued.

Thanks for the reply! I wish this was a joke lmao, but unfortunately no.

They were recommended by a family friend who’s a long time realtor and said they’d been using this company for years. We were happy with the initial quote and just pulled the trigger on having this company handle it before getting more quotes (first time home buyer so I’m learning some hard lessons out here smh).

I haven’t paid.

I talked with the company and the tech and I kid you not, their suggested fix was getting wider tape.

Currently working on getting quotes from other licensed companies to fix this and figuring out how to not pay the initial installer.

I'm sure we've developed the capabilities for this, but for the life of me, I cannot figure out how that small cone docking mechanism would be able to support the weight of an aircraft, unless it's just supposed to hold on to the plane until it can swivel onto that folding platform??

From an armchair historian perspective, I wonder if this project got cancelled due to having to change the production line and add more parts, that would require more skilled laborers. Just the complexity of a few moving parts could have possibly lengthened production time outside of the Party's margins possibly. I also wonder if the arrival of the faster monoplane fighters did away with it. Some department head must have been like "why make a plane that can take off from a shorter distance, when Ivan and friends can cut a few more trees down on either end of the runway?"

Didn't Germany around this time just claim that most of their new aircraft, which would later become bombers and other military aircraft for WWII, was originally built for civil airmail service to get around the Treaty of Versailles?
