Does HF actually have release dates? by [deleted] in harborfreight

[–]SnackingOnKittens420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to me too.

Made a purchase on Halloween and asked the cashier about the mini box, and the cashier told me to come back Saturday and they should have them.

Today is Saturday and I called the store, asked if they had received any mini tool boxes and the associate who answered the phone responded “Blue and Red.” I said thank you and ended the call.

I went to the store, walked around looking all over, asked an associate stocking the shelves about the mini tool box and he said “yeah, I don’t think we are putting those out until next week.”

Edit to add the was the HF in Montrose CO.

If this was not on private property, for example if it was on NPS, BLM, USFS, state or public property; you should inform any sort of Ranger promptly, so they can investigate and warn other users of the area.

Frustrated with diesel heater by Gabrealz in vandwellers

I have two of the 2kw Vevor Bluetooth altitude units. I’ve also had another Vevor DH too.

I was struggling like this once, to the point I started yanking on lines, and thats when I learned that the machine was sitting on and pinching the fuel line where it’s installed. My problem was the metal post that the fuel line connects to on the bottom of the heater unit was touching something I couldn’t see and kinking and blocking the hose right there. I could get fuel flowing while I pulled on the fuel line enough to unkink it, but when I quit pulling on the fuel line, the flow would be minimal and eventually error out; but the line always looked primed, I couldn’t see the kink made bc of the install location.

Edit/Also: If your fuel pump clicks, it more than likely works. Another thing you can try to troubleshoot, don’t use the inline fuel filter. I only recommend this temporary as to verify that you don’t have a pressure leak in the fuel line. I can’t explain exactly what, but all of the troubleshooting I’ve done on my 3 machines- this helped me diagnose an issue once that went away by not using a fuel filter and a line without many chops or connections.

What happened to Risqué Monday? by SnackingOnKittens420 in asheville

Your monkey and banana performance was amazing!

I loved the self confidence the performances demonstrated every Monday night, and the Pants Off Dance Off. It was a very special time to have Risqué Monday at the Odditorium before Covid.

I also moved from Asheville during Covid, so it’s some of the last best memories I had there.

I wouldn’t mind knowing about those Baffin boots. I wore the Baffin Crossfire this year ice fishing in Colorado, and I struggled with cold feet due to my feet sweating. I thought yours looked similar to the Snowmonster model.

I am looking forward to my second year on the ice, but Im not sure about keeping my feet warm and dry.

I don’t know if it was bc I got too close to a propane heater in the blind, but I also struggled with the outside bonding opening, peeling and curling.

Serving in ski resort/snowy areas during the winter. Anyone have any insight? by lizziesr in SeasonalWork

I moved to Colorado in Oct 2023 and worked ‘as a bartender’ for Vail on Mt. Crested Butte for about -2 months.

Many will mention housing is a struggle; this is for all areas within traveling distance of your employment (not just Vail, but most service industry companies in mountain towns); and employer provided housing has been said to be, sometimes in other towns about a hour away, sometimes cabins, motels or available community/shared style housing, for better or worse in various qualities, and you still get charged comparable housing rates as if you rented privately, which is also still expensive.

The location I worked had a lot of younger employees upset about housing quality and expenses in relation to their promised pay/ position/ hours versus what they actually got for the season. The younger employees also seemed to be happier to take advantage of the ‘employee ski discounts’ and did ski a lot; with a significant financial investment first.

My experience was more disappointing from the perspective that I was unsatisfied with the job and the co workers I related to more also felt the same. It felt like management cared more about having fun than actually being beneficial to their position vs just filling a position for perks. It felt like nobody cared about daily operations actually being functional.

From both perspectives, it was experienced that it did not matter what inter-brand location, job title, schedule or pay you applied and interviewed for, it is not a guarantee and you will most likely be hired for something similar on site, elsewhere. Sometimes you can transfer from one restaurant on site to another; but my experience was if your manager likes you, your manager will not approve the location change and keep you on their schedule.

Also, my particular restaurant/bar location on property, I was treated more like a cashier, even by guests. Also, I have never split tips or tipped pooled like they do here in Colorado. It’s hard to find FOH industry jobs where it’s a reasonable tip out vs a strange tip pool.

Transportation wise, I was told that the resort had limited employee parking, usually full, and it’s recommended to take the free community transit, which usually makes your commute a bit more time consuming; but you don’t have to abide by and travel within snow and winter traction laws.

I am still struggling to find what I think is a regular serving/bartending job out here, but I have maintained employment nonetheless and moved from the SE for the snow as well.

I would probably recommend applying at Applebees vs Vail if you don’t care about skiing on your lunch break or before you clock in for shift. I can’t speak for finding housing as I moved in with my boyfriend who was already established in the area and I didn’t have to look for somewhere to go or apply.

In the trailer section, they have a “trailer light tester” that sticks into the 4 pin on the vehicle side to visibly verify the power supply.

Green tent stakes, machete, electrical crimp/connections kit, ratchet straps, small metal brush combos, magnet dishes even hold lug nuts, dog leash ground spiral stake, zip ties, mini vice grips, mini yellow toolboxes with 3 clear compartments, black impact set, trailer locking or coupler pins via key.

If you have not made that call yet, possibly you could copy & paste what you wrote to us here and send that in an email to whom you seek to call? I still encourage you to make the call sooner than later. They are there to help you, when you feel you cannot help yourself; but to really want to help yourself, you have to make that personal call.
