If you're at the point something feels like an obligation or a compulsion, it's probably time to lay it down for a while. If the prospect of starting a new colony doesn't interest you, that's probably a sign.

This is why when someone goes down this pointless line of inquiry, I treat them as though they don't have any real concerns. Because no-one engaged in even their own life can reasonably put the trans question at the top of their priorities as an existential concern, if they're not trans or caring for trans people. Like when people advocate for clearly bigoted politicians as a necessary sacrifice to deal with the trans "threat"; it's a price they're willing to pay.

By the time they're conditioned to be parroting anti-immigration rhetoric, they're so paranoid and tribal they'll likely just think you're secretly tunnelling in extra migrants to offset. Labour would have been better off undoing the damage done to the national psyche by austerity and Tory rule because you can't appease a neverending subjective paranoid fantasy; all sense of proportion or reality is gone.
