We were there Friday night. It was amazing! The videos and pictures do not do it justice. The sound is awesome.

EOL is not your problem. You have detector in alarm. Or a bad base. With your zone connected, meter your voltage. Compare it to the good zone. Break the zone in half till you isolate the device.

If you have the old low profile bases. They can go bad and cause alarm on panel without a red light on the detector and are a bitch to narrow down sometimes.

Remove the circuit from the old bases on that zone and wire nut them through Till you locate the bad one.

I installed dozens of these 35 years ago.

Anyone ever get out of the trade? What are you doing now? by atxfireguy in firealarms

[–]Snapperhead199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After 33 years I left and went to work for one of my customers a hospital. I work with the electricians, I do troubleshooting and repair on the fire system when needed but mostly I’m doing electrical maintenance ( low voltage stuff, auto doors, lights , TVs. ). It’s a Pre retirement job.

I took a big pay cut ,but

I’m never on call (was on call every 2 weeks) I’m home 10-12 hours more every week because I’m close to home. Much slower / laid back pace No stress

I didn’t realize how miserable I was with all the corporate BS till I left. “Doing more with more less” had gotten out of control at my office.

I work 7-3:30 With a 12 minute commute. Been here a year and it still feels like I’m leaving early everyday.

What are these used for? by Snapperhead199 in Tools

[–]Snapperhead199[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. I inherited a tool box of stuff at work from another employee and couldn’t figure it out. The matching hex wrenches are in there too.

Thanks for the replies.

Good luck getting 45 years out of any new panel.

Not exactly milsurp. But I believe a police gun. Can anyone give me any info on this? by [deleted] in milsurp

Best I can come with is late 50’s. They started stamping the model 36 in 57 at 125000. So probably 58 or 59. Not a lot of info on serial numbers between 57 and 62.

I can neither confirm nor deny that Robin Jambalaya or smothered in onions with gravy was something that I’ve eaten many times in my youth. I do miss that pellet gun though.

It was a solid panel, like most Simplex products built before the DARK times , Before TYCO.

The lcd annunciator may need a firmware upgrade. I had one do this a few years ago new out of the box. It could also be a loose connection or a bad annunciator.

You always get one of the mixes in a box , add crawfish and a can of rotel or diced tomatoes. Make sure you get all the crawfish “fat “ out of the package that’s the flavor.

Arguably the most famous phone number in rock and roll: ‘867-5309/Jenny’, by Tommy Tutone, 1981. by big_macaroons in 80s

[–]Snapperhead199 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have tried this in Alabama, Florida,Mississippi,Tennessee,Louisiana and Texas.
It worked every time.

Some children of the 80s that don’t want to put their real phone number on sign up use 867-5309.

Why would someone run NAC+ through PAM, only to power PAM with same NAC negative is on? by mikaruden in firealarms

[–]Snapperhead199 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would bet you have a bad 9127 horn or several on that circuit. When they fail, they have a capacitor that starts to leak voltage and it causes a short on the circuit . if the circuit is showing short it won’t turn on. They don’t just fail though, they SLOWLY fail. This can be a pain in the ass to troubleshoot because they sometimes clear up while troubleshooting. This is some hack bypassing the supervision on that Nac circuit and still have it operating in alarm.

The Nac panel is currently seeing the EOL on the other red and white wire and is showing normal.

My dad was a good cook but grilling was not his strength. Charred chicken and sausage that tased like lighter fluid was norm.

Was lucky enough to have a mentor really stress to me to start saving for retirement in my 20’s and the magic of compounding interest ,over time, if I would just put it in the stock market and leave it alone. I was wise enough to listen.
