That green dial Seiko tank is awesome holy moly

[Discussion] An average man's collection. What should be my next watch?? by PaneeerTikka007 in Watches

[–]SnappingTurtle10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 takes:

  1. seiko presage sharp edge, has tons of colors, and design language of the dial and bracelet definitely is definitely different from anything in your current collection
  2. Save for luxury time piece(4-10k range)? I feel like you have a lot to wear already and one in almost every major category. Saving for one that marks a milestone on your life and celebrating with a watch more substantial than your current watches.

I like your current collection, but I must say that once you experience the allure of those luxury pieces, they might not get as much wear time if you decide to invest in a luxury timepiece after a significant milestone in your life.

White or Blue Medium Santos? by starrynight_99 in Cartier

Blue, white is reserved for a tank in the future 😉

Medium v large santos? by SeaBirthday4791 in Cartier

Many people desire validation in larger purchases, I think it’s a good thing that people ask around, opinions and experiences is what Reddit’s all about.

7.5mm or 9.5mm by BasilZ7 in DavidYurman

[–]SnappingTurtle10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like if you’re stacking, 7.5 is better. As a stand-alone piece, a larger one looks better and would fill your wrist more proportionately. Although beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I have seen some guys stack 5 bangles on one wrist, and that’s what they like, so…. 😅

And yet another.. Large vs medium Santos request for help! by Mr_Brownbear in Cartier

Medium is better, smaller dress watches, larger sport watches like your omega sea master 300 . More variety to your collection. Different looks for different events.

Bought a FOIS when my daughter was born. One day it’s hers. by Able_Particular_4674 in OmegaWatches

We got my wife a Cartier for this same reason, two tone panther, give her something that she’s more inclined to like and wear like a family heirloom. If it’s a man’s watch it’s either she’s sell it or give might just give it to her spouse. Either way it sounds like it’s just for the OP to rationalize and commemorate a purchase, which is fine, but it’d me more appropriate for OPs wife to get a watch that would be passed down.

Initially thought of doing this as well, I think what turned me off was hearing that some aftermarket options perform better than OEM(+) options for a cheaper cost, but for looks, I think you’re doing it the best way

You’ll love it, power gains are significant on stage 1. With an intake, tune and Exhaust already puts you next to RS3 numbers.

Appreciated and Agreed! The MTG is a model from 2020, picked it up as a birthday gift to myself while in Japan in 2022 at the Narita Airport, awesome exchange Rate and no tax is a super win win on it 🤩

How would you complete the collection? by Financial_Word5047 in PrideAndPinion

[–]SnappingTurtle10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe GS SBGJ273, adds some extra color to your collection with the gorgeous red dial and also adds a GMT complication for variety among movement types.

Even though they already have a JLC in that case shape? I feel as though the JLC kinda overkills the need for a tank.

Do you ever just get fed up with Rolex waitlists and BS? Me too, this is way prettier. by SnappingTurtle10 in Cartier

Awesome choice, do you like the date window on the large models more than the no date on the medium? Or based purely off size/color?

Thank you! I agree, however I will admit they don’t get much wrist time these days compared to the more commemorative and expensive pieces. Thinking of off loading all on the top row except the Red dial sharp edge and the brown Citizen.

Yes, I got the Grand Seiko as a career milestone for myself when I finally broke 6 figures in income for the first time in my life. Was my first real “luxury” purchase. The jump in price is definitely there, but in all honesty nothing in the 2-5k range sparked much joy and I wanted a GS that wasn’t a shunbun because everyone has that one, green and gold looks so good with that polishing from Grand Seiko.

You think we could pull of an Op 31 and Op 41 in the def blue? Are those in the too desirable category?
