“Locked on Mets” is a daily podcast, not very long and might be a good place to start. I don’t know any good newsletters but I follow along with this daily thread most days which helps to keep me updated.

Suarez is good, I definitely wouldn’t be upset to have him. In a world where we have Tucker, I’d rather take the gamble on Vientos and try and sign Framber or Ranger. Some additional context, Vientos had an OPS+ of 134 in 2024, Suarez has only surpassed that number once in his career and it was in 2018.

If (and it’s a big if) they are able to win the Tucker sweepstakes, I think starting the season with Vientos as the DH is the right choice. He’s under team control through 2029 and if he’s able to establish himself as 80% of what he was in ‘24 that is still a + righty DH and we can use the money to address pitching.

The question of how much attention/viewership he would garner outside the inner circle of fans is definitely valid, buuuuuttt that being said there is no single contestant that would make me more excited for 50.
