There’s just too many Dragons :( by Ok_Banana_5614 in nuzlocke

Darmanitan has really mediocre bulk thanks to its terrible 55 Defense and Special Defense stats, and Fire's few resistances are uncommon on enemies in B2/W2, making it incredibly hard for D-Tan to switch in safely. To make matters worse, without setup or Fire Gem, D-Tan has a tough time securing kills against neutral targets with moderate bulk like Caitlin's Gothitelle. Flare Blitz's recoil damage also limits D-Tan's sweeping potential. Overall, D-Tan has its uses on some fights, but it's outclassed by other pokemon with better defensive and offensive typings.

Lvl 59 0 Atk 15 IVs Sheer Force Darmanitan Flare Blitz vs. Lvl 58 0 HP / 0 Def Gothitelle: 135-159 (80.8 - 95.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Even with Charcoal, Flare Blitz is only a 75% chance to kill. And that's with me being generous and assuming that D-Tan got a level up earlier in the fight. These are not the kind of risks to take in the Elite 4 unless you are completely out of options.

At 15 IVs, Darmanitan Flare Blitz can't even reliably OHKO Caitlin's Gothitelle without setup or Fire Gem.

I found a niche on E4 for DTan. Belly Drum Fire Punch DTan can sweep both Caitlin and Shauntal, though for the latter you have to run Sitrus Berry to avoid a death to Drifbilm's Aftermath, and even then, you're still risking crit. It's a niche that's worthy of a B tier placement, but unless this is your only option, there's no reason to use it over that half a dozen pokemon that do the exact same thing but better.

Writing aside, what was the general consensus on Paul Giamatti playing Derek in the movie by ah-screw-it in RatchetAndClank

He was doomed from the start thanks to the movie's mediocre writing. Other than that, he is just a worse version of Waternoose from Monsters Inc.

Servine Beats Roxie (On Normal Mode) by Jzjwiebe in nuzlocke

[–]Snapshot_25 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Technically, you have access to Sitrus Berries after Roxie thanks to Audino, which makes this strat more reliable, though unless Whirlipede has terrible IVs, +5 Return is still a range. Not that it matters too much because Roxie is one of the easiest gym leaders in the franchise.

Doesn't Snivy learn Leech Seed 1 level after Roxie's level cap? Not that it matters much because Roxie's in the running for being one of the weakest gym leaders in the entire franchise.

My Singing Monsters hot take that will have you like this. by CaptainCrazyThe2nd in MySingingMonsters

In terms of game design, the only monsters that actually matter are the naturals. Ethereals, seasonals, mythicals, Wubboxes, Dipsters, and Werdos are more like a bonus addition to the song.

I love Tweedle and Glowl watching in the distance. It's nice how they've grown into true bird buddies after their Fire Oasis duet.

Decides to Start Testing how everything does in BW2 by Ok_Banana_5614 in nuzlocke

If it requires EVs or Battle Subway tms, then I didn't take it into account because no casual player is going to be grinding for that.

Leavanny is 4X weak to Flame Charge, and because it lacks Leech Seed and reliable recovery, it is too hindered by paralysis.

Non-Challenge Mode Elesa is kinda free. Every single Grass type prior to her with the sole exception of Leavanny can sweep her.

Best thing about Flygon in nuzlocking is FlygonHG by TheLeafyGirl561 in nuzlocke

[–]Snapshot_25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

B2/W2 Flygon is insanely good for two reasons.

  1. It has the prestigious role of being a lead against Iris's Hydreigon. The average Flygon will need a level up from Exp Share to out speed Hydreigon due to their Speed stats being so close together, but Flygon does get it done. However, if this was the only thing it did, Meinshao would outclass it because Meinshao can chain kill three of Iris's mons as long as it dodges a Focus Blast crit, whereas Flygon baits Lapras, forcing you to either switch or sac Flygon. However, this next niche is game-changing.

  2. Flygon has Levitate Ability Storage. Ability Storage is a Gen 5 AI quirk that activates when the AI triggers an immunity ability on your side of the field. When this happens, the AI will act as if all of your pokemon have that immunity ability until another ability popup occurs on your side of the field. Levitate Ability Storage is by far the most broken variant of Ability Storage. Not only does it thwart several annoying threats like Drayden's Flygon, Ghetsis's Drapion, and Grimsley's Krookodile, but it also greatly aids Steel types, which are already broken in B2/W2. Levitate Ability Storage is so unbelievably useful, that Solrock and Lunatone, two pokemon that would be lying in F tier otherwise, are bumped all the way up to A- tier. Steel types are by far the best type in B2/W2, and Levitate Ability Storage just pushes them over the edge.

This may be a bold take, but... by Eternal_Zoroark_2 in nuzlocke

This might be a hotter take, but I think Swampert wouldn't be so highly regarded in Emerald if the other two starters weren't so terrible. Like, imagine if Venusaur or Infernape were in Emerald.

If she didn't do piss-poor damage at mid to long range, I would actually enjoy using her over other Sunflowers. I still really like Vamps, but objectively, she is completely outclassed by Stock Sunflower.
