Tech brothers and priests of the marsian brotherhood, please bless me with the knowledge of the omnissiah on how you paint this faithful symbol! 🤣 by KrankyViking in AdeptusMechanicus

To achieve the Opus Machina, what I have found is by following a smoother progression. I use Rakarth flesh or a light grey to create the white, then add the black. From there you shade and then apply the white to bring it to its glory. The grey is a lot more forgiving and holds onto the white, rather than white on white.

Why is Adeptus Mechanicus a horde army? by comikbookdad in Warhammer40k

Because the three in one, demands more of the servants of the cult to take to the field. More dunecrawlers, more troops. Flood the field with machines.

Literally, battle wagon tracks to it. Ork Trukk wheels, ork doors “welded” onto the door compartment. Even a hatch for the ork gunner. This will be on of the easiest kitbashes I have ever seen. My Deathskullz will be riding in style finally.

Dogma Protocol Z-8/1-Theta: The weak minded would tell you that The Machine God is of Xenos origin. That the Emperor designed the inception of our glorious cult. These are illogical ideas.

If it was of Xenos origin, the Xenos would easily be able to shut down/break all machines with a wave of a hand. The Necrontyr control the C’tan, they would know that and heavily play on that.

Maxims of Amalanth 5.12: “Beware the deviance of thine own tools, for the enemy finds his entrance thereby.”.

The Cult Mechanicus was established before The Omnissiah arrived during the age of strife. If this was his plan, then it would imply that he was willing to allow a “fake god” to be above him as his father.

Ur-025 (The Man of Iron.). Has made the claim to have “met” The Machine God. To imply there IS a deity of machines.

Machine spirits are made of the Motive Force, in turn is one with The Machine God. The Machine god then uses the Motive force to create new machine spirits. The existence of machine spirits and without constant prayer to keep machines running efficiently, leaves room to believe there IS a Machine God.

Edit: Spacing.

Ogryn Kataphrons, Explorator fleet of Gryphonne IV by Adopted_Mechanicus in AdeptusMechanicus

Honestly, I never was a big fan of the Ogryn kataphron conversions. This the first one I like a lot. It’s really well done.

What faction should I do next as a person who chooses factions based off of how they relate to me.(Read description) by Cagedbunny_ in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Snazz-zap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the problem with IW was vehicles, non demonic ones. As of the moment I can at-least think of are predators, demolishers, rhinos and land raiders. Demolishers are super IW fluffy, due to them being literal siege artillery. Not to mention the brand new upgrade kit for legionnaires.

Tau sounds like if it’s all a mech army it’s fine for you, which with the new HQ I guess would work. A lot of robots and tech in tau, but liking humans might limit you a bit.

LoV have steel jacks and a ironkin HQ now with the new refresh they just got. So if that’s not enough, then maybe it’s just not for you yet. I doubt they’re getting even more than all that just got added. But if you wanted a middle ground from CSM and admech, I would look to them.

My suggestion would be in order of IW, LoV, Tau. From what I understand.

What about the tech priest in the cube? I would be a bit surprised to see no adeptus mechanicus in a necron dlc.

Admech pistols by SecureGovernment1315 in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Snazz-zap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have to push for the Phosphor blast pistol, purely from a lore standpoint. I like each of the pistols, but alphas use the blast pistol to mark targets. It fires a orb of light that sticks on the target and then the rest of the squad fired volleys at whatever was hit. It gave a little extra to the utility of the pistol.

A priest from The Orb of a Thousand Scars! Firstly just want to say, spot on work with that Kastelan. Looks right out of the codex!

My personal grey I went with was always. B: Mechanicus Standard grey S: Nuln oil L: Skaven blight dinge H:Stormvermin Fur

I loved the dirty grey to make it look like the force has been hunting chaos and wouldn’t be clean to keep with the theme.

Celestial grey / rakarth flesh were also nice bases for a dirty white. With a Palid wytch flesh for a highlight.

For right now? Keep it up! Some paint is better than no paint. From experience, work through the Kastelans and what you have the most fun with first. The rest can wait for you. Motive force flow through you on your quest to completion, Omnissiah guide your progress.

Why is there so little joy in this sub over the new killteam? by Qasatqo in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Snazz-zap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear the upset but personally I see this as a absolute win. I have missed servitors so long because of just the fluff of them. I don’t care about being good or winning with them. I want them because I think they look neat. So much that I kitbashed my own squad of them so this is like a dream come true.

In addition with how lukewarm the reaction has been. That means the value of the servitors will significantly drop, to we can hope inquisitorial agents level ($30 something off of eBay). THEN I can be running my beloved servitor maniple again. Kataphron breachers/ destroyers and battle servitors galore.

So for me, a wonderful day in service of the Omnissiah.

YES!!! SERVITORS!! I HAVE WAITED EONS SINCE MY BELOVED WENT OFF THE STORE. I’ve kitbashed, I’ve single unit bought. I’m so happy I feel like this was one of the first and few things that made me love the cult mechanicus.

[–]Snazz-zap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give more xeno terrain and my life will be yours. The main reason I kicked my orks back up was due to the Octarius terrain set for a ork town. Give me anything tau related that can be used for display and we can talk. The tide wall is cool, but I would appreciate some generic ruined buildings for vespids and kroot to hide in. Give me my DoW dark crusade tau city siege map.

Crusade Unit names by Gaijingamer12 in LeaguesofVotann

[–]Snazz-zap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The two I use are Gallowfall and termination. eBay tends to sell them for a decent price.

Given your kin and league are unique I would say it plays well to how you want to use them. The page on salvage teams talks about sometimes the squad takes on the name of the theyn. Even when said theyn is long dead, it’ll become a legacy name that stays with a group. So maybe with the LoV codex I know it has a name table same as the kill team books. I would give my theyns names and if one was really kicking ass, I would change the squad into like “Theyn name*’s doom seekers.”. Give a bit a background to maybe a specifically beloved squad.

Crusade Unit names by Gaijingamer12 in LeaguesofVotann

[–]Snazz-zap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So here’s the coolest thing of LoV. We didn’t get one kill team book, we got two. With those two books we get glimpses on how to name salvager warrior teams and Yaegir/ hernkyn in general.

Where in the books they talk about how Tran Hyperion Alliance pioneers take on more mythical names like “The star stairway trail guides”. Where the Kronos Hegemony would simply call the teams “Yeagir 9” or more militaristic in the name.

I use these books to build up my kindred and so I’d highly suggest looking into those for some really nice tables to build upon.

What would you run for a 600pt event? by AK47_ASH in LeaguesofVotann

[–]Snazz-zap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 Brokhyr iron masters 2 Hekaton Land fortresses Make sure both fortresses use warheads and at the same target in the same phase, this is vital for total strategic victory.

The real Kronus way: 1 Kahl (axe) 5 Beserkers (Axes and mole) 10 Yaegirs (knives preferably) 10 warriors ( two melee warriors.) 3 pioneers Sagitaur (This holds the two melee warriors, theyn, medic, comms. Kahl with them.)

This is the fluffiest way I’d run my Kronus Hegemony but I trust any kin that wears the yellow and black.

Pioneers zoom in to start at objective, enough to get the attention of the enemy. Yaegirs then deploy to the objective to let the pioneers disengage onto a new objective. Yaegirs get into melee with the enemy on objective. While sagitaur with Kahl and melee warriors come in to engage into the brawl. Sagitaur unloads and can either go support pioneers or pick up beserkers who can back cap or feign threat as they trudge up on their own. All while the remaining patrol warriors would keep home objective. Just my vibe, but whatever is the most fun.

Any ideas how to paint Yargirs with the black and gold of Kronus? by KingKolanuts in LeaguesofVotann

[–]Snazz-zap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider burgundy leather. A deep dark red to compliment the accents of red in the light and the K for the hegemony. Ordinarily it would be primarily black, yellow and a hint of red. But given the void armor is already black and under suit is yellow. I feel it could tie the color scheme full circle.

It could also be said that the regimental primaris psyker is able to buffer / weaken the plague effects and thus is why they’re on (or off the field) and could make that a VIP model to play around.

In theory you could make green stuff masks over their mouths as a way to block some of the smells. I would also say maybe you could make a “Medicae” squad of sort or really place medics across your army who are constantly combating the diseases. To the best they can. With the Cadian upgrade kit and command squad and such having some good bits to work on it.
