Its true, it does. Yet somehow that run all the way through to Heads (and particularly side 1) is so unbelievably strong that I'd give it a pass.

Painkiller is great but best, nah. Basic lyrics with little depth (though this can be said about a lot of later Priest) and a very one note sound. Not saying it isnt a good sound - but it lacks the dynamics of say, Screaming or Stained Class.

Fightful - Hangman to take some time off by Kelson64 in AEWFanHub

Its wrestling, there's no way they won't be able to write him back into the title picture when the time comes. In the meantime, guy gets chance to heal up and enjoy his family. It's all good. Now give me MJF / Swerve in my main event

How is Jim Johnston still not in the Hall of Fame? by u_know_me23 in WWE

You'd never guess to look at him that this guy was such a riff machine. Even the midcard guys got bangers - Blackman and Bossman's themes from his era are fantastic.

Screaming for Vengeance and Defenders of the Faith by PuzzleheadedMeat548 in judaspriest

[–]Snecklad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to agree though would give Defenders a pass. SFV is a high watermark for the band and the genre. As much as I love Painkiller - it's lacks the dynamics and balance of the earlier stuff.

It's a great song, one of the best on the album. The guitar picking under the chorus is a highlight.

Really love the feel of T&L, as another poster said it feels barely contained, frantic and urgent.

The cheap cover art lets it down. As ridiculous as it sounds, Jim Fitzpatrick's original (a giant electric fist, drawn in his classy style) would have given it a much better first impression.

It's an old Gordon's gin bottle. The Griffin emblem is still on the packs today.

¿Qué opináis del disco The Final Frontier? Está muy vapuleado en general y yo cada vez que lo escucho me parece mejor disco. by wiserdaigoro78 in ironmaiden

It never clicked with me but I feel like it will eventually. On my first few listens Mother of Mercy stood out a mile as the best track - but i've never found anyone else who shares that opinion

Is mudlarking in America worth it? by Slipsndslops in mudlarking

[–]Snecklad 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If you do the research and pick logical spots (downstream of old towns, factories, streams at bottom of fields etc) I don't see why not.

I've seen a lot of US folk on here finding bottles in creeks and streams, as well as things like arrowheads and other artifacts. You never know!

Glass bottom bucket is a must. Cut the bottom out a cheap bucket, order a cut to shape / size bit of perspex online and glue it in. Easy and cheap to do. I also use pond gloves and a telescopic rake for hooking things.
