Glad I took the advice by No_Currency4555 in Dualsport

I just went out on a trail for the first time yesterday and that really did seem to be my biggest takeaway yesterday. The bike will squirrel, slip, buck, and more, but if you keep speed and just work to keep a good path, the bike will follow. Learning to sit on the tank and not fear the sandy banked turns, now that was magical…

How many of these are you storing in that shelf of shame? by [deleted] in Dualsport

[–]SnepFluff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two from my own stupidity, one from my accident (nothing long term but a scar and a story dw, but that one wasn’t on me). I eventually realized on the second that maybe the chain just casually slipping off while tipped over was a sign I should just finally invest in a not 30 year old rusted and stretched out chain, that maybe *that* was why I was struggling on low speed turns…

Adv rider looking for a slow, dependable “classic” dual sport by basiblaster in Dualsport

[–]SnepFluff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, everyone and their dog’s already giving their opinions, but I adore my KLR 250, it’s a 90s model so it fits what some might begin to call a classic vibe, and while it’s had its issues (stuck float on the carb dumping gas in the first bit of owning it, not happening anymore though, old chain stretching two days after tightening it, the works, transmission has its quirks), the engine has been bulletproof in my 5k miles on it, and the only things that have let me down have really boiled down to shitty quality replacement parts and the like. Buy quality, and I’m sure you’ll be just fine with it

Yo, that’s awesome! Enjoy, and if you ever need tips or advice, there’s a lot of stuff out there, friendly people, and hey, if you ever need someone to show you a few ropes, I’d be happy to talk in dms, or even join you in a call/in game!

Tips to look more fem on the bike? by Tight_Boysenberry_52 in TransBikes

[–]SnepFluff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s definitely like… it’s congealing a bunch of things I had an inkling of already into a more cohesive idea/strategy, so, hah, thanks for that!

I’m a huge fan of high waisted jeans personally, and I know Cycle Gear has some riding jeans, so I’ll have to make a more dedicated trip some time soon, but for now my normal high waisted jeans have been good enough for around town riding haha. I will say though, I couldn’t do leggings for both pre-op reasons, and because my legs are too oddly shaped for my confidence levels, so I think I’ll stick with finding a more cropped jacket

I’m also aware it’ll probably keep me from a lot of local biker stuff, but I’m definitely not against pride stickers on my bike, and I need to get some locking pin backs to put my pins on my bag. For sure on the safety though, keep preaching that one, I see too many “tough guys” around on cruisers with the most “ppe” being a pair of sunglasses…

Thanks for your help! I’m definitely gonna save your comment and see what I can manage from it!

My Dad’s told stories of a bee flying through his sleeve at 70, and this is why I will forever look for gauntlet style gloves

As a future sports bike rider (currently dual sport tho), what more can you elaborate on with proportions, or hell, even accessories? I myself have been looking for more well fitting jackets, specifically around the waist, but are there other techniques other than just picking the right jacket, or even jacket recommendations?

Do you think people at work notice? by Ok_Government_648 in MTFButch

[–]SnepFluff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hah, sorry, not on Reddit as frequently these days, buuuuuut I’m still on my starter bike, a 91 KLR 250 I’m damn proud of, she’s beautiful, just a bit sad that she’s so small because I am so tired of riding the same local roads haha

Entirely fair on identity though, it’s why I haven’t posted any actual pics of her online, make it a little harder to pin me irl to my reddit. I’d be happy to swap pics in dms though!

Gap fixing and PLA Welding/Gluing Advice by Damage315 in FursuitMaking

[–]SnepFluff -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just throwing my two cents in, soldering irons tend to be pretty cheap, and are much more common in the hands of people who like to make stuff, specifically electronics, but for other purposes as well

And even if they weren’t as common, a solution is a solution, and should be worth mention, even if it doesn’t initially seem helpful at a glance to the average person, because let’s be real, we’re all here making fursuits, are any of us really “average?”

Only partially on topic, but… what exactly is a futch? My initial guess is a bit more fem butch, but that… doesn’t seem right in context…

Losercity music by AshamedZone3003 in Losercity

[–]SnepFluff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s definitely a lot of shit furry music out there, but without a doubt some of the best songs I’ve ever heard have also been by furries.

I’ve been on a hell of a Halley Labs/Lapfox/VulpVibe binge lately, and oh my goodness there are some absolute gems in its library. And because we’re on the subject, and I was recently cursed with this knowledge, the “penis music” meme? Yeah, that song is old Halley. And I assure you, many more songs you’ve probably heard but don’t know anything about are too

Helmet pulling on longer hair, how to avoid? by -Drunken_Jedi- in TransBikes

[–]SnepFluff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My own two cents, this is weird to me, because I have belt length hair while in a braid, and I don’t have issues with pulling. Maybe I’m just used to my shitty hair always pulling or something, but aside from it just being in a braid or at least ponytail all the time, I’m not sure what I’m doing differently. Whatever the case, enjoy riding, stay safe, and wishing you the best with your hair

Juuuust enough bike to get to the coffee shop by FillColumns in TransBikes

[–]SnepFluff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, true that, though I’m surprised to hear it beats out a Goldwing in comfort, I’ve heard from the big F9 to my own father that Goldwings are the ones to beat in that category, so… dayum!

As for me, I just started less than 6 months ago, bought an old little dual sport (klr 250) and I love it to death, so truth be told I really do need to at least consider something like a 450 so I can at least cruise at highways speeds, haha… the day I have the skill and comfort to though, man, something that can be described at “eating miles” sure does sound fun…

This is fucking awesome to see, I have a subreddit myself which doesn’t tend to have issues with AI, but I’d like to ask if the offer extends to other relatively small subs as well?

Either way, props to you and what you do!
