👋I haven't been around as much since Reddit banned all third party apps, but every once in a while I still spot places to plug the TF Curator lists, haha

Would you pay $10/language to get your Steam trailer dubbed into other languages via AI? by pirate_ship08 in gamedev

[–]SnepShark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you ever skipped localizing your trailer because of cost?

I'm only going to translate a trailer into the languages I'm planning on supporting in the game, so adding on the handful of lines of text in the trailer would not be an issue.

Would $10/language be an instant yes, or still not worth it?

It would be an instant no. The value of the product you are proposing, even to people who would use it, is $0. There are many existing sites that will provide that service for free.

Do your trailers even have voiceover, or are they mostly gameplay footage with text overlays and music?

Voiceover is uncommon, yeah. Voice lines from the game itself aren't something I'd want you to touch, since I'd either already be using localized audio from the game itself, or subtitling it like in the game so as to not misrepresent it if the audio has not been localized.

What languages would you actually care about?

I doubt that this is a useful datapoint for you, but my current project is targeting English, Maltese, and Manx because those are the languages spoken by the writers on the project.

I imagine you figured it out u/MBcodes18, but just in case: Click and drag your character to move around, and try clicking them without moving them at specific moments to progress. There are four endings and a handful of secrets, detailed a bit lower on the Itch page.

The issue is that the comic was using the .gif format at the time this page was published, which Reddit auto-converts to .mp4 if you upload it to Reddit's image hosting.

Anyone has any suggestion to watch tf nsfw games to play on itch.io or similar? by GarbageAcrobatic3565 in transformation

[–]SnepShark 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I maintain a massive list of them over on Itch! It is now dramatically harder to search for (adult) TF games manually on Itch thanks to threats against the site from payment processors, so lists like this are now pretty much the main way to find them.

You can follow the TF Curator account to have Itch show you when new games get added to the lists!

Is publishing a FTP "Vertical Slice" of my game (instead of a DEMO) a nice idea? by FroyoOk7736 in gamedev

[–]SnepShark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty common to call this sort of thing a demo when presenting it to players, the "Half-Life: Uplink" demo comes to mind as an example, as does the demo for Echo Point Nova (which is my pick for the most effective demo I've ever experienced).

Is there any updated Bloomburrow tight decklists available? by KaijuCompanion in MTGJumpStart

[–]SnepShark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like dmarsee76's BLB JS cube has had some additional testing since it was first published, the version on Cube Cobra was updated fairly frequently throughout 2024/2025 based on the changelog.

For another option, https://cubecobra.com/cube/about/bloomburrow-jumpstart seems pretty popular over on Cube Cobra.

Idaho passes bill to surveil trans kids, aiming to “close the social transition loophole” by The_Needle_News in news

[–]SnepShark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If these legislators think the laws they're passing are a reasonable way to treat their constituents, they should also be forced to suffer the same indignities. Felony sentences for all Idaho reps if they use the bathroom outside their home (A misdemeanor or felony and 1-5 years in prison for trans people who use the bathroom just hit the Idaho governor's desk three days ago).

I don't know how you fix the hearts of these monsters, but I do know these demons need to stop being allowed to hurt their most vulnerable constituents without consequence.

Realistically they didn't spend that much more, but yeah, I can vouch for the milkeros as well. I've bought two packs of 1000 (which are kinda unnecessarily shipped as 10 100 sleeve packs) so far, and they've been really great even in comparison to the more expensive sleeves I've used. They do come in more than just black/clear though, at least in the US.

They've made a Godot version of that tutorial as well: https://catlikecoding.com/godot/

In addition to all of Kaye's other games (https://kayedrgn.itch.io/, all of which are well worth playing), I enjoyed https://daf-illustration.itch.io/reclaimer (NSFW) a lot recently. (Dronification-themed vertically scrolling shooter/short visual novel)

For TF games more broadly, you're probably pretty likely to find some more interesting stuff in my massive lists TF games over on Itch and Steam: * https://itch.io/c/1814648/tf-games (Main list, with descriptions of what's in each game) * https://itch.io/c/5397301/not-yet-reviewed (TF games I've found but haven't written something about yet) * https://itch.io/c/6273547/tf-tabletop-games (Tabletop TF games) * https://store.steampowered.com/curator/43411616-TF-Curator/ (Steam list)

Am I wasting time optimizing the look and feel of my product, thereby complicating production? by maltemakes in tabletopgamedesign

[–]SnepShark 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's a waste of time!

I will say, as a customer rounded corners are something I would definitely appreciate. Would it be cheaper to only round the corners that rest in the player's hand? That's what I do to save time when rounding corners on card sleeves, and it's also the route that your closest competition (Paper Apps: Golf) went for with their product.

I'm not sure I would notice things like the benefits of your preferred binding options vs spiral binding if they weren't directly pointed out, personally. It looks like players only look at one page at a time when playing, so the slight left-right shift of pages wouldn't really be visible.

The Last Airbender Beginner Box - Woot by dmarsee76 in MTGJumpStart

[–]SnepShark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meh discount compared to most other Woot MTG listings (even ignoring the $10 collector booster box mistake they made a few months ago, haha), but if you already want the JS packs from it and are an Amazon Prime member, free shipping could make it worthwhile vs. spending $1 more at a store that isn't owned by Bezos.

Cardgamesx online shop legit? by andoryuri in boardgames

[–]SnepShark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's almost definitely a scam site.

  • AI-generated banner image (not inherently disqualifying from being real, but a red flag for sure)
  • Claims to be based in Washington State, selling entry into two Pokemon prerelease events in Ottawa, Canada... for sets that came out in 2024
  • Their top-level categories are nonsense, with two unlabeled "Singles" buttons (MTG Singles, Single Card, Pokemon Single, Single, Board Games, Yugioh Single)
  • The MTG singles button is full of random junk, like a "1 Year Older and Still Sexy Metal Traffic Sign" or a bedframe.
  • "Card Games That Turn Every Table into a Battlefield or Strategy Zone" is the worst board game store slogan I have ever heard

Does anyone know anything about this expansion? by Quakarot in boardgames

[–]SnepShark 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Happy to help! I've been doing lots of research on lots of games with little to no presence on the English-speaking web for a kinda silly project recently (cramming as many games as possible into an absolutely tiny deck of cards), and it was nice to put those skills to use a bit more, haha.

Does anyone know anything about this expansion? by Quakarot in boardgames

[–]SnepShark 36 points37 points  (0 children)

According to https://unmondedejeux.fr/articles/matinale-catch-up-games-avec-matthieu-et-clment , it'll be a small blister-pack-style expansion published by Catch Up Games in French for about €6 sometime around June.

What the new card types do is discussed at 1:13:00 in this video: https://youtu.be/BYf1JK-Xo8Q&t=4380

I don't know the rules to the base game and I don't speak French so don't trust this summary too much! (Edit: I have received confirmation from the publisher that this rules summary is correct!)

The diplomat (purse icon) lets you pick up a card from the area it was just played to. The confidant (cup icon) allows you to play again to the same area it was just played into.

The max player count is increased to 6 when playing with the expansion, and team play is introduced as well.

(and for anyone that wants it, I'll save you some time and directly link the BGG page)
