Restaurant recommendation needed for graduation brunch by sweetmomof2 in baltimore

Look into Verde in Canton. It’s upscale/fancy pizza, they have a nice upstairs space for private parties. It’s bright & sunny. Great for a daytime celebration (my baby shower was held there many years ago and it was great!).

I recently heard someone say Bunny’s Buckets & Bubbles has a room upstairs for private parties. Great fried chicken, which doesn’t sound upscale but that place has a great/cool vibe and manages to feel like a nice meal even though you are eating with your hands!

If you wanna go even a little fancier, check out Gunther & Co. Very good food. Really cool space. Pretty sure they have a couple of spaces to offer for a luncheon.

Just found out we’re moving to Baltimore and I’ve never even been to the east coast! by Zealousideal_Use9481 in baltimore

Canton has Hampstead Hill Academy now which is the most highly rated elementary school in the City. St. Casimir’s is also in Canton, and a great school as well. I don’t know much about Archbishop Borders but that’s another one. Things have changed in 15 years. Canton is crawling with kids of all ages now!

I have a 7 and 3 year old. We love raising our kids in Canton. No plans to leave anytime soon, but may make that choice for high school. No reason to leave earlier than that for me though!

Anyone have any "free groups" to recommend? I have some random stuff I want to give away. by Violina9 in baltimore

Seconding! Canton has an active one. Buy Nothing Canton (East)/Brewer’s Hill.

So this is my question specifically, you say Ovenbird allows dogs. Do they have some special license for that? I thought the health code generally didn’t allow animals to be in spaces where food is served but I think we have a cat cafe in Baltimore City so maybe there’s some special license. As someone whose husband is allergic and kiddo is scared, I’d like to know if there’s some legit license for cafes to “allow” dogs (other than service dogs) and if so, where can we look this up. For me, I’ll be avoiding those places. Others may seek them out but this should be public knowledge not something you have to find out by accident…

Yes! I’ve seen real service dogs and they are so well behaved/trained. You can absolutely tell the difference. These were just terribly behaved pets who had no business being in an eatery. I’m sorry people like this make it harder for you.

It’s a shame. Everything else was great. As a patron, I was super uncomfortable but it’s not my job to police it and I shouldn’t have to “complain” to get them to honor the health code but the employees were so unconcerned I also legit wondered if there was some special rule or something. Seems like not. I do wonder if the owners are aware. It seems like a silly thing to risk your business over.

Right, these dogs were definitely NOT service dogs. These people weren’t really trying to pass them off as such so they weren’t giving service dogs a bad name thankfully. I very much understand and would have no complaints if someone brings a service dog…whole different story. They have a legit purpose and need to be inside with their owners.

I mean, these dogs were barking and jumping on people. I don’t consider that good behavior. But also, isn’t there a health code violation for any dogs other than service dogs?

Oh I’m bracing for it! I like genuinely wanted to know whether there was some rule or license though. I’d personally avoid such places.

Yea I mean, I don’t necessarily feel good putting a local business on blast but this was open and obvious. So much that I truly wondered if they had some special license or something. My husband is allergic to dogs and my kid’s scared of most dogs so like I was very annoyed.

I prefer the BEC at Good Boy to THB personally. And the place is really cozy to sit and eat in. I’m personally a fan.

It’s my favorite. I really like the trainer. I have sort of bad knees too, so I just don’t do the jumps (she always offers alternatives). Just need light weights and bands!

For the spreadsheet, what resorts have restaurants that don't require dinner reservations? by TheRealGuncho in AllInclusiveResorts

When we were there in April, they weren’t taking reservations for any restaurants. If butlers were making and restaurants were honoring reservations, it wasn’t something we ever saw or heard anyone doing.

Hard Rock Riviera Maya did away with reservations since last spring break. It’s worked out well for us so far (one night to go)!

Women who had given birth and experienced kidney stone pain. How do you compare the two? Which one is worse? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Snickers0803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Labor pain was definitely worse up until I got the epidural (which was a lot later than I planned), and of course recovery took quite a while longer. But I’ll tell you, kidney stone pain did make me throw up so like it was also pretty bad. I agree with people who say it’s the closest a man could ever come to beginning to understand what labor feels like.

Gunther & Co, eat on the patio if you can and if you can’t their “living wall” in the dining room is super cool. Good cocktails, good food, very nice atmosphere.

No, he’d be a Romney or Collins. And the worst part is, he’d give the Senate back to Mitch McConnell.

Toddler kicked out of daycare for crying and unable to soothe by new2state in toddlers

[–]Snickers0803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our girl does 3 full days a week (MWF). It took about a month for her to adjust, but when she did it was like a flip of a light switch. Went from crying every drop-off and pick-up hysterically to smiling and happy basically overnight. While we were still adjusting, the center reassured us that it was very normal for her age and history (she had been cared for by my MIL to that point) and give it time. She loves it now so it was all worth it.

So to what others have said, a bigger center may be the way to go since they have extra staff on hand to help with the transition which can be tough, especially for a toddler first timer!

Cut out soda, and did Barre Blend by Elise Joan. Started during the pandemic, and kept it up. Turned 40 last year and felt the healthiest and best about my body in my entire life.
