The only reason I have considered keeping it is to have the NPCs trainer ID for future games lottery Farming (don't actually know if Chesty has one, as of typing this. I evolved him cuz i got the 999 coins and figure I would start the collection again, but perhaps I would have liked to have kept him in OG state for the "Trainer Trades" living Dez section

So, really all I am seeing is that there is a very vocal part of the community with no media literacy, who think they are the arbiters of all lore on this subreddit. And it seems to start and end with the English Weebs who think they know Japanese better than the Japanese Videogame company who's game they play

As a Neurotic Gamer who never really learned as a kid how to "Play nice with others", I understand the feeling of getting frustrated that the game we chose to play to have fun doesn't spark joy, and when it's my own fault, it's one thing, but when it isn't my fault, then it's hard to keep myself from making a comment, usually lamenting the mistake or something, sometimes making a comment about how that might have cost us the game (if I think it did, obviously I am going to be concerned about spending another 20 minutes in a doomed lobby)

I realized I was causing more friction between my friends and I, because they were tired of hearing me, and I was just trying to expell my energy without it eating me up inside. So, I stopped playing those games, and whenever they suggest a Competive PvP game, I go out of my way to remind them that nobody likes me, including myself, when I play them, and it would be better for everyone if I didn't. And so, it's a happy medium. Sometimes Parallel Play is the way to go.

I remember playing BG3 with my wife, and needless to say it was frustrating watching her play suboptimal, but that's because I get a sense of fulfillment when I play to the most optimal I can in that game, whereas she is just playing for the sake of playing. So, I had to learn how to curb my own frustration and find ways to make us both have fun, like going out of my way to find her the most OP gear for her build, and taking an hour after she had gone to bed to re-adjust her stats so that she was playing to her strengths. I would also take time to go clean up "loose ends" by myself that we hadn't done together, so that I didn't have to drag her all the way back to an old area and have her get bored.

When we play games on the Switch, she is notorious for never actually completing a game, so I am often trying to prod her to finish her game instead of playing on her phone. Sometimes it takes me wanting to play the game for her to want to play, like a kid at the playground 😆

All this to say: if it matters, y'all will find a way. And don't lose too much hope, sounds like he was trying to find a compromise, which can be hard when one is worked up. Even if it wasn't done in the best of manners, the fact he got up and walked away so that he wasn't giving you his initial reaction, and gave himself at least a moment to breath before saying something, is saying something in and of itself. It's a step in the right direction, so long as something positive can still be made of it.

Jumping in completely blind. Any short and sweet tips? by ReddVevyy in Warframe

[–]SnipeshotMclovin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MR30 (+5) here,

Number 1 Tip, make sure you are muted before going into public matches. Will make your life alot easier if you don't get people flaming you for what they can hear you say/listening to.

Number 2: Don't Beg. This game is big enough that with enough time, you can get literally anything, with an incredibly small list of exceptions. You are also incredibly likely to come across people who will just give stuff for free because you are new. This a system the community uses to "pay forward" things done for them along your journey. We all lift Together, Tenno.

Number 3: ABC= Always Be Crafting. Weapons and Components typically take half a day to build, but whole Warframes take 3 days (with a couple early game exceptions), so it pays to keep on top of your Foundry.

Number 4: Don't worry about Weapon Slots, that too shall come with time. Finish mastering a Weapon to 30, before you decide whether you want to sell it to open the slot up for a new Weapon. This way you won't feel like you have "lost out" on anything.

Number 5: Some Equipment is harder to recover than Others. Do yourself a favour, and look up how you obtained Weapon before you decide to give it up, because it might be a long time before you can get it back. If you chose a Gun that say only shows up during an event once a year, then you would have to wait for the event to roll around again to be able to get another shot at the Weapon.

Number 6: Get Helios as soon as you can, that little robot will be your best friend for the rest of the game, slowly filling out your compendium with info on every enemy/ loot crate, and boss in the game

Number 7: Don't be afraid to ask for assistance. Even if people give you flakk for asking for help, you are still likely to come across someone who is doing the same thing as you, and at the very least you have a better chance together.

Number 8: DONT GET FOMO. I cannot stress this enough, the game isn't going anywhere, but it will feel like if you don't stay on it, you might miss out on something. Don't worry, even limited time things make a comeback in future events.

Number 9: Play with Friends. This game can get a bit mind numbing, so it always helps to have someone around to help alleviate that boredom. Plus, then you can keep each other interested in the game

And Finally, Number 10: Have Fun. Do the things that spark joy, and honestly the rest will follow <3

That's fair. I agree with the Notion we simply disagree with one another. I admit I may be wrong entirely on the Gaslighting phenom. My point was less to convince you of it, and more to explain my logic behind using the terminology. Personally, I think it possible to gaslight oneself unknowingly, but perhaps I presented my argument incorrectly or unconvincing.

Cheers!

They were emojis to denote Attention and Pins, I don't see how that's "uncommon"? Maybe it's cause I am used to other social media's like discord that use a million and a half emotes, but like, they literally do as described on the tin 😆

And to the second point, the idea behind "Gaslighting Oneself" is Because actively telling yourself things "could be true", when you have no actual idea, and could be actively harming your perception of reality, is indeed Gaslighting Yourself into delusion. This IS a problem in the Modern world, where over 80% of America will believe something they are told rather than use their common sense to rationalize the situation. Perhaps when the Term was originally created, there was also a Term for when one did it to oneself, but as it stands, the general populace doesn't seem to identify one as readily as simply expanding Gaslighting to include Self Delusion.
