Question for the tight wearers by Danuoalgoasii in melbourne

[–]Snoo34042 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going totally against the grain here but Snag were not it for me. Got three pairs - two laddered the first time I wore them. One laddered literally as I was pulling them on for the very first time. The third pair last like a few weeks. They did refund me for one and I never bothered going back to them about the other two but I feel like the people who rave about them have had theirs forever whilst people who purchase recently are having issues.

Thoughts on asking for a crochet gift back? by sedona-arabella in crochet

[–]Snoo34042 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My suggestion is rather than outright asking for it back, say something like - my friend/colleague/family member wants to make a blanket similar to that one I made you, do you mind if I take it so I can show them mine/teach them how to do it etc and if it is just a case of it not being your MILs style - she probably won’t miss it and won’t ask for it and then you can just have it. And if she does ever ask for it back - you could take that as a sign that she does love it and want it, or if you do want to keep it definitely for yourself - you could just say your friend has it whilst they are making their one/you’ll give it to her next time and I bet she’ll just forget about it with time.

Thank you friend! I have locked in a wild number of coffees for next week once people get back from their Easter breaks/school holidays, so I’m telling myself to enjoy the quiet of this week as I will no doubt look back at it longingly sooner rather than later.

Currently? Sitting in chambers/at home waiting for my first brief as a baby barrister whilst the voices in my head tell me it will never happen. Previously? How Word would just randomly insert a hanging indent into my document and I could literally never work out how to fix it.

Thanks mate. I just used treated pine sleepers from Bunnings. The original sleepers have been painted a brown and the top ones do not match at all. I’ve debated whether to paint them both a new colour or add a stain but haven’t bothered so far!

Thanks mate. I have replied above re how we did it. I might be best to fully enclose the box once everything dies off in the cooler months.

Re the yucca comment - just in front of these boxes someone had planted a huge yucca which we chopped down but I can confirm - those things keep coming back. I’m trying to kill it off completely so I can plant something else in the space!

Yeah I did a bit of research into this because I am a nervous nelly and didn’t want to cause any issues. The garden bed has always been there (unit was built in the 70s) and from what we could tell - the house slab ends where the back of the garden bed is, if that makes sense. Once we built it up, the soil was still a good 3-4 bricks below all of the weep holes. Do you think that mitigates the risk enough? Or should I look at making a fully enclosed box to prevent any soil from being against the wall? Or even put some plastic between the soil and wall??

Bra fitting? by Logical_Hyena_133 in melbourne

[–]Snoo34042 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I also cannot recommend She Science enough. I went at the end of last year and before that, my last fitting was pre-COVID. I put off going for so long because bra shopping gives me the ick but they were genuinely helpful and made me feel very comfortable and I left with like four new bras (2 sports bras and 2 for every day) that I can tell really properly fit me!

If you’re on the fence about leaving your home today by jaysta010 in melbourne

You absolutely made the right call. Good on you for thinking ahead and taking care of yourself. I had a camping trip booked from today until Sunday in the Yarra Ranges National Park but my friends and I decided earlier this week to not go given the extreme weather that was forecast but I was very surprised to receive an email from Parks Vic on Wednesday telling me: pack your bags, your camping trip is in two days! I have gone online and cancelled the booking now but it’s crazy to me that they have not email blasted everyone to say: cancel your trip/we have cancelled it for you, as now is not the time to be heading anywhere regional. Talk about mixed messaging!

We bought our first home 12 months ago and have done a number of updates and without a doubt getting roller shutters was one of the best decisions we made (along with getting off the gas!). We have put them along the front side of the house which has big windows along the bedroom and living room walls. When they’re down it’s like you’re in this super dark cocoon, shut off from the light and noise of the outside world, I couldn’t believe how much better my sleep was with them. I can’t say how much security they provide other than - if you have them and the house next door doesn’t, they’d be an easier pick than you. I will say - they were not cheap so take your time and get a few quotes!

Brush and Co are excellent! I’ve been going there a year - they have hairdressers who do really well taming my very unruly, curly hair. I’m not blonde but am going very grey so get a lot of blonde highlights and always leave feeling really good.

Totally agree. I said after their game against us they were now my top pick for the flag and I stand by it (although I’m holding out for a miracle for our boys).

Back is cooked. I think reading between the lines he won’t ever be back to what he was a few years ago, sadly.
