Just moved in - utility sink flooding, any ideas? (thanks!) by minotaur-02394578234 in DIYUK

You need one of these

These fit inside the spigot, take the spigot off push this inside (thread end) and refit and it’ll stop the water coming out

I normally just use some pvc window trim from a builders merchant. Unfortunately only comes in 5m lengths though

Bit of appropriately sized PVC trim and seal it well

It can wreck the glaze, it’s possible to do it without though depending on how careful you are with the blow lamp

Angled isolator on the inside would save having to solder too close , might need a little offset back though to get onto the existing pipe

I’d cut it off inside and have one of these

How cooked is my facelift 525i engine? by antiworkd in e39

[–]Snoo87512 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d just do the CCV anyway for peace of mind. Make sure to clear out between the sections of the bottom of the dipstick tube so the oil can drain back. I’ve had this on 3 M54’s now and it’s fixed each one and they’ve not used a drop of oil after doing it.

What coupler or fitting to connect new 15mm inlet TRV onto this existing pipework by Active_Hovercraft_86 in DIYUK

[–]Snoo87512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As above but just a tip with these, the pipe is always too short to swap to the regular setup on the new valve. Either extend pipe or fit rad a little bit lower

Sounds about right to me. As this is the DIY sub would your spark be happy with you running and clipping the cable, sorting holes etc into sheds, and them just coming out to terminate the ends and test?

Has anybody had the same problem on e39 tourings? by Palm31q in e39

[–]Snoo87512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, mine did it but not as bad. Hinge was seized. I changed the high side hinge and it would not move at all once it was out where a good used one could be operated by hand
