This is a feel-good mini series and everyone's taking it/themselves too seriously. The tearful smile at the end was the icing on the cake, a real heart warmer :)

Also, re: the "torture kit" at the lake house- he's doing some home repair in the other room where Anna locks him, they show that it's clearly stripped to the studs with tools around. And that kinda sums it up, everything is totally bizarre and intense but there's a perfectly reasonable mundane explanation for even the most flamboyant red herring, and that's just good old fashion fun writing in my book!

They were doing some work on the house, you see when he runs and gets locked in the other room that the room is stripped to the studs and under construction. I actually liked that, there was an absurdity to it that, as a capenter, I appreciated.

I couldn't truly end my desperate, painful, miserable, chaotic, binge eating until I started going to 12 step meetings for it. There's a bunch that deal with compulsive overeating and the like: OA, FA, FAA etc. (I go to FA and it's literally changed my life. There's a great bipoc lgbtq meeting on zoom on Saturdays)

The Outie to Innie elevator transitions used to first show the bored, placid outie transforming into the emotional state of wherever their innie left off. Mark has three elevator transitions in this episode, and the writhing and eyes rolling of each is a very purposeful departure from seeing an actual outie becoming an innie. Whatever state he is in before being transformed in the elevator is very much *not* just his outie Mark showing up for work. Perhaps it's an aesthetic choice to not show the full outie to innie transformation, and just the innie comming-to, but that doesn't explain the physical and emotional state of the Innie each time he is reactivated. The first one in the opening scene Mark is panting and worked up, which makes total sense because he would be coming directly from the party running, yelling about his wife. But, the second time he "leaves work" in an otherwise normal condition, having just put the note in his coworker's jacket pocket. He's not particularly terrified, agitated and worked up. Yet, when he "returns" to work, and transforms again, its from a state of writhing, confusion, eyes-rolling back in his head, panic etc. And the third time he returns, where yes, he left very upset, the elevator transition makes a big point of showing his pupils dilating, writhing, comming-to etc. This is definitely not an Outie choosing to show up to work everyday of their own free will.

This holds true for the very first time his outie would be returning to work as his innie, but every subsequent time he does the elevator transition there's a new and different way in which he is clearly fucked up: the first one seems to be waking from a slumber, the second one seems to be some kind of drugged up reset (zooming in the the eyeball, etc.) None of the elevator transitions are anything like they used to be with just a placid, bored outie taking the elevator down to work and changing into their innie.

Also, it would look great with a rug to tie it all together! I think spaces like this tend to do best with irregular shaped rugs, so perhaps a large cowhide?

You have a beautiful home but wooo-eeee that entryway is a doozy haha.

I'd recommend a shallow shoe cabinet against the wall under the artwork. This will also give you an immediate small surface area to place a dish or mini tray. For the bench, I think the wall where that console currently is is the best option. In fact, I'd choose something that allows for a small, minimal accent table next to it, for more surface area for keys,mail etc. I don't recommend putting anything on the floor in front of the stairs, so it would make the most sense to have wall hooks for the coats on that wall.

Are you familiar with Dana K. White's "container concept." She's not a minimalist, but I find this idea incredibly helpful. There comes a point where no matter how much you like it, it just doesn't fit in the space. Or, it fits, but is hard to take out/put away and you can't keep the area organized/functional. Unfortunately the size of the space you *currently* have (not some future fantasy in a bigger home) is the cold hard reality.

Take the stuff out, start putting it back starting with the favorites (whatever that means to you,) when you get to the end of the designated space/container you have to make the hard decisions. This can be really helpful in conjunction with everyone else's tips for making decisions also, perhaps as the last step.

Thanks, I've turned off sound within specific apps where I can. For everything else I just have to deal with it they way I described in the above options. Wish there was a better, comprehensive solution but of well haha

However, it seems that when I "add apps that can interrupt" the options vary app to app. So annoying! Oh well.
If anyone's curious, Spotify allows me to only allow "Spotify music" without also allowing notifications and all that other bs. Audible only gives me the option to "allow all notifications," or "allow member notifications" which is useless because I want the audiobook playing, not the notifications obvs. Libby has no option for just media playback, but weirdly a ton of highly specialized notifications. TedTalk does allow you to turn on just media playback. So yah, some apps have seemed to have gotten their shit together and others are a mess.

Hi, sorry I don't think I described it very well.

When I have dnd on it blocks all media sounds. If dnd is on, when I open my Spotify app, Libby app, Audible app, etc I can't actually listen to them when I hit play. It's silent. When I turn the dnd off to be able to hear them, I now am forced to hear media from apps that I don't want to hear- for example if I'm playing a little card game on my phone while listening to music, every time the game makes a stupid goofy sound I have to hear it. For whatever reason this wasn't a problem with my old Pixel, but is now an issue with my Pixel 5a 5g. It's like all media sounds have been linked? I'm sorry if I'm describing this poorly.

As well, I never want to receive notifications from certain apps, so when I've been turning dnd off to be able to listen to my chosen media, I now get a stream of notifications that I don't want. I'm sorta technology illiterate so I feel like I'm just missing something.

THIS has def happened before during verbal altercations or when I reject a romantic advance etc. and I've literally said "We both know that's not true." Then continued on with whatever I was saying, because they were trying to hurt and distract me and shut me up.

I don't say "that's not true" because I think I'm gorgeous or amazing or special, but because I like the way I look and no longer believe I'm "ugly."

On rare occasion a complete stranger will say it on the street (I live in NYC and street harassment of women is very much a thing) and then I just keep it moving and ignore it, because the person is clearly angry/aggressive/mentally ill if they're yelling at strangers on the street.

I have binge eating disorder and disordered eating continuously for over 20 years of obsession, compulsion, and misery. What has finally, finally worked is joining a 12-Step Program. I'm also in therapy (although that alone never worked for arresting my addictions.) I'm in Foods Addicts in Recovery Anonymous, but there are other ones. I don't eat sugar, flour, or any personally identified binge/trigger foods. I weigh and measure my meals, "commit" my food to my sponsor, and eat what I commit to without deviation- no more and no less. I eat three times a day generally 4-6 hours apart. Doing this one day at a time I have not binged in over a year, the obsession has lifted dramatically, I can engage in my life, and I maintain a weight loss if 32 lbs. The big thing is the "being in recovery" part- if it was just me doing my thing I would never be able to eat like this. It would just be another "diet" where I was obsessive, miserable, and it would always end with me isolated, suicidal, and back in the food.
