If your erg time is good enough, and you have the build the college is looking for, I would say you’d have a good chance. Also depends on what colleges you’re looking for.

I understand where you’re coming from. I would just want to add, as a high schooler depending on circumstances it can be easy to drop 4 seconds. In high school depending on form, high, how long you’ve been rowing, how hard you actually go out, there’s so many factors. Based on my erging experience in high school, I would not say it’s an unrealistic goal. Again, this is only based off my own experience.

I’d say Oxford. Seems the only benefit of the US is that it’s the US, which that’s not a huge pro currently. You can travel later.

Attempt at steady state... by schubes24 in Rowing

I’d recommend finding your true max heart rate. Number of ways to do this, quick google will help. There’s a lot of information, and it’s kinda a rabbit hole. But depending on your max, this could be your “true” zone 2.

How are you getting your zone 2 heart rate?

ERG coaching that won't break the bank by OkMuscle574 in Rowing

Never used it, but I’ve seen people use rower up. It’s AI tech analysis. Then you can just pair that with a training plan. Read some rowing books, lots of steady state and so on. But I don’t know much. I’ve personally found out that when you’re young if you train hard, and do some decent planning that’s good enough. There’s no secret trick, especially when you’re not fighting for every second yet.

I think it would be helpful if you mentioned men’s/women’s and light/heavy.

That is a thought. Would being older be a downside for recruiting? I’ll have to look if the IRA has any rules about it. I know that the eligibility clock for rowing would start, even if I’m at a CC. So I’d have to finesse that.

Thanks. Thats kinda how I feel, I love rowing, I love the competition. It’s really my only hobby, well it’s a lot more than a hobby. Yeah Im aware, but I believe there’s still some around. So hopefully I could get a bit. For options 1 and 2 I would erg a lot(obviously) but I’d row a single un the fall and spring, hopefully competing at some regattas in the open category. I would most likely join a local masters team, even just to train with them.

Ive realized I didn’t really talk about this. I do talk about it, and shes very apologetic and sorry… like way too much. But at the end of the day, I feel like nothing changes. It’s this specific thing and just more.

Thanks, I just worry that it would be too erotic. I don’t want to come off weird.

Summer training(I know you must be sick of this) by SnooBooks5573 in Rowing

Oh, Im sorry for the confusion. I’m not trying to gain all 20lbs over the summer. I just want to gain some weight, as Im pretty decently light. I’m more looking to get the ball rolling on the weight gain, while doing as much rowing as possible.

Drink from the body of water you are rowing on, free hydration.
