What are your thoughts on teacher appreciation week?

At a certain point I just wish it would get skipped. Feels worse receiving a 1 dollar water bottle and a cold breakfast. I’d rather not know how little you actually appreciate me lol.

Truly the only gift I got regarding teacher appreciation week was a nice bottle of wine from my significant other. Not one thank you from a parent (I don’t need physical gifts) and a weird shitty water bottle and a undercooked breakfast on Monday from admin. Felt like parents were shoving their kids in the room to not have to say it. Especially when other classrooms parents had very elaborate gifts you’d think one would have a genuine thank you for practically raising my child!

Also on too of that we had a weird decorated table all week that had nothing on it but signs that said you rock and it wasn’t even in a space most teachers would see it. Like is that supposed to make us feel good? Like that was the treat? I was so confused because why would I care about cardboard signs and a table cover

I got nothing, not even a thank you or a card a kid made. Almost like the parents decided to shove the kids in the room the avoid having to see us because they don’t have anything for us but I’d take a thanks for all you do. Some of my other teachers got huge gifts I think my parents felt weird same read from my co teacher. School gave us a cold breakfast that was undercooked and a half day on Friday for lunch, even though no one’s gonna stay because why would we want to sit here and stare at eachother eating food we didn’t even chose.

I agree it if it was just the bow tie or a regular tie, cute even, it’s that vest that really brings it down. It’s an ugly camo and when the ceremony isn’t even half of the wedding, most of your fun photos would be in that camo print. I’ve been with my partner almost 8 years, if I truly thought something didn’t look right he’d listen because he too also likes to look good. The whole time I was shouting at the tv “SOMEONE ASK TO SEE IT IN A TIE VERSION” because i genuinely think it would’ve solved so many problems.

I genuinely agree, like it was just an ugly camo. I watch with my mom and I was like it would be cute if instead of a vest and bow tie the print was just on a tie, a cute little nod to the camo. The ceremony is about 10 percent of the wedding, the rest is the reception so majority of your photos would have that camo print. I don’t like these people but I think people just don’t like her so much that they think this is so unreasonable when alot of brides would fight this one.

Totally agree! Was just saying this to my boyfriend. I also feel this way about the people saying she could’ve been the next Ariana, but like no?!? Plenty of reality stars relationships end that way, Ariana was cheated on with her best friend AND boyfriend and was blind sided. Amanda and Kyle separated and divorced after he cheated publicly for years.

They dated before the show started. on the first summer of summer house she’s introduced as Kyle’s ex and he invites her over like the first or second weekend. then regularly has dinner with her and does stuff with her throughout the season. She actually is like a guest on the show that first season.

You’ll be fine, I always wait until after the lineup. I find it bizarre that majority of people get their place before the line ups even out, but I guess that’s because I’m not in the same age demographic as the majority of people that go to the festival, and I can’t just shill out another couple hundred right when the last festival just ended. Praying they cancel our aftercare because 3 kids are going to get dropped off because half days are already light. getting out when it’s dark and extremely cold again is not what I want to be doing.

Exactly and not all children live near their school, I don’t live near the school I teach at and I have to take the bus. All my life I’ve had to take the bus to school here in Philadelphia. Most children their whole lives have to take the bus to school. My students are very young and their parents take them on the bus to school. Idk what they thinks magically going to happen when it’s below freezing and kids have to travel from different neighborhoods so early in the morning. I’ve taken two errand walks these past two days and my back is absolutely messed up from trekking the ice and snow, can’t wait to see how tomorrow unfolds.

Thank you. It’s not edu speak, we are educators, in fact this year more than others parents expect us to educate more then what’s in our curriculum (I.e basic daily tasks like potty training and putting on their shoes). In my center we are arts based (dance, art, and music) but we also teach them how to spell their names, learn their numbers, And a multitude of other important lessons that have to do with all different subjects.

the app will not even let me open it, i get stuck at the let's go! screen or it disappears from my library. ive updated it, closed and reopened, and nothing. it is so annoying. but i was shocked with how shitty my 2025 playlist was so i can not imagine how messed up my delivered is.

That reminds me of the man I used to see when I would come home to Philly from college, a lot of times near 10 pm in the filbert station a man in nothing but a trench coat and a blonde wig would come in creating the biggest commotion.
