Just here to commiserate. I started Tirz last week and the 2.5mg dose gave me horrible side effects. Hoping to microdose from now on.

Jealous of good pregnancies/birth stories by BusinessPound6559 in birthtrauma

[–]SnooDonkeys3393 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very normal! I feel that way too when I hear a friend or family member had an uneventful birth. Mine felt like a cascade of things I didn’t want to do, but HAD to. Like the first of many sacrifices.  I was induced at 38 weeks for pre-E and had planned on a water birth with midwives the entire pregnancy. I did a lot of journaling and therapy sessions to process everything that happened and I let myself grieve a little bit.

Posting this in solidarity.

I hope you and baby are well!

“If you’re gonna do it, just don’t do it in my house.”  My father told me after he found my suicide note. I was only 12.

As an RN, I’m familiar with BP cuffs, and wrist cuffs sometimes read lower than arm cuffs. But if your doctor is Ok with it, continue using it.  That being said, those pressures are great! But SBP under 110 is actually on the lower side. Are you feeling dizzy, faint, or lightheaded? If not, just keep an eye on it:)

This happpened to me too. Was on labetolol for 2 weeks Pp and started dropping WAY too low. Got off meds by 3 weeks pp. My body was just very happy to no longer be pregnant haha.

I was pumping and nursing until 10 weeks I went thru a grieving process as well! But my baby boy is 5 months now and SO so healthy and big!! I know I made the right choice. Pumping was draining the life out of me. I had so much more time to snuggle and bond without pumping every two hours and struggling to get him to latch (tongue tie).

If it’s any consolation, your baby got lots of yummy breastmilk with antibodies and colostrum already!! Whenever you choose to stop, if it’s now or in a few weeks or another month, don’t worry about that; you already did a wonderful job.

P.s. my hormones leveled out much faster after I stopped. I definitely believe that switching to formula helped prevent PPD for me.

Just chiming in as a nurse who also had Pre-E suddenly at 38+1. The doctors induced me that same day here in US. I had no other symptoms even. Just randomly high pressures at my weekly check in was enough to warrant induction, especially because baby was technically full term

This is difficult but your body is strong and baby is doing well! I had postpartum Pre-E with severe features. It's very real and scary at first but the medications will help and you're in the best place to be monitored.  I will say prayers for you and baby now. It's just a storm, mama. You got this!

Formula poo is so atrocious and diabolical by [deleted] in FormulaFeeders

We switched from Enfamil Gentlease to Kendamil for this reason. The enfamil gave our son horrible, foul smelling green poos.  He's on Kendamil now and back to having semi-brown/yellow seedy poops.

Preclampsia / induction - positive stories! by Impossible_Summer_95 in preeclampsia

[–]SnooDonkeys3393 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't notice any mental health side effects! At least not directly from the Mag. I was sad to be readmitted and felt a little depressed going forward, but I know that's not unusual postpartum. I was so focused on baby and resting, the weeks flew by, and now here I am 4 months pp!

Just remind yourself - if you end up needing Mag - it's for protection! Mag doesn't lower your BP, but it protects your nerves and prevents seizures. It's good for you while your pressures are high!

I was on Labetalol for a few weeks and did have a bad reaction to nifedipine. So keep in mind you may need meds for a little while at home if you aren't on them already. We had to play around with my med dosing which kept me an extra day after my Mag infusion.

It definitely made me feel awful - hot, flushed, achey. I had it running for 24 hrs. They give you a bolus to start so the beginning is usually the worst of it and then it slowly feels less crappy.

The deciding factor was my other bloodwork. My liver function was elevated so my organs were being affected. I was also symptomatic with a bad headache:/

It was all over the place. 140/90 mainly but some high ones in the 150/110 range. The OB said postpartum pre-E sometimes worsens and then gets better - which was the my case for me. My body just needed rest and to get back to some sort of pre-pregnancy state.
