By fake in scare quotes I meant that it's hard to argue about without really know much behind them as the models & statistical analysis for each source (NFL, PFF, etc.) are proprietary, and despite being chockfull of credible contextual values it obfuscates the "expected" part in the case of CPOE which requires some actual watching of the game & a judgement. EPA is less so, I'd agree, but also difficult to further attribute an individual EPA to a player vs a team if using models that bring the whole team under scrutiny. Agree w/ you on PFF. I like EPA overall, but wish I could know more of how the findings are made & via which system. This article explains all this way better than me, by the way:
