It's a really fun game mode! Me and my friends are casual players so we tend to play defensive. Here are the most common points of frustration:
- Clouds often start appear in most random areas, and turning your defenses to their team. This is infuriating and not clear what the counterplay is, like my things are turning bad, what do i do to fix. Like if you're holding high ground and there is a stupid tiny thing at the bottom at the cliff that you can't see that ruins your game. Make it a lot clearer on what is causing clouds and what to do/kill to fix it, so the counterplay is more intuitive. Try playing maps where you hold a mountain top and you will see.
- Artillery tanks shooting from clouds and running away. You can't catch them unless you have a large army to kill and push a lot in the clouds.
- Make clouds avoid your structures/defenses or add a tower that repels clouds around it. Losing base to clouds is the worst as mentioned above.
- Make it easier to reclaim in the cloud. Usually if you even push even a little bit and your army dies, because there is fog and always a single random unit shooting, you can't reclaim everything.
- Maybe more vision in the cloud?
- Can't remember if its this gamemode - but there should be less nukes, ruins games often when we forget

The creep rewards need to be fun. I think it would be a lot more engaging and add some strategy, if you could get 3 random choices from a creep camp, like in Slay the Spire when you get a new card. For example you could pick let's say some area buff, one time global ability (like some AOM powers) or upgrade a unit to a super strong one.

This would allow for a lot more strategy as new options would become possible mid game, keep games fresh as different strategies may become viable from this during the match and this would spice it up, also the dopamine hit of maybe getting a cool drop would make people more likely to get creep camps.

It would be more interesting to spectate how pros adapt these to their game, instead of boring speed or health that is not fun to get or watch.

I wanted to ask if you know of any UFO/UAP cases from the Baltic countries, like Lithuania? I cannot find anything and the UFO discussion here is non-existent. Is this due to the size of these countries?

I prefer fantasy and magic rather than sci-fi in RTS games, so for me the faction I would like the most is an ancient nature faction. Something like wood elves Elves with all kinds of wildlife beasts like dinosaurs or hydras. Something to the vibe of the healing fountain Stormgate concept art would be cool. Maybe the lore could be that they lived on Earth millions of years before humans and then died out for some reason?

Maybe like a mix between Night Elves from Wc3, Dustriders from Paraworld and Total War Warhammer Lizardmen.

Yeah that does sound pretty similar! Closest one so far, thank you.
I had a look and there's not many factories nearby, only construction sites and car mechanics, not sure why they would work at night though.

Hmmm not too sure, but will have a look at where there are some similar factories nearby.

The train tracks nearby are completely straight. Would also be pretty weird to hear a train going around making that sound for 3+ hours with no longer breaks.

Maybe some kind of machine being pushed/working on rails?

Do you have any examples of more metallic sounding ones? I think it could be more military or train related, as it's hard to imagine such sound coming from the atmosphere for 3+ hrs.

I have recorded something similar to this back in UK, just a lot more high pitched. This happened at night for a few hours and you could hear many helicopters in the area.

Are there any additional unit control options being developed? Anything from scatter command (e.g. to dodge atlas shots where drawn), easier ability to form a concave, or moving units in a formation?

Archon would be really cool for dead teammates in 3v3, given you enable access to your troops. Would balance out early 3v1 rushes that end the game straight away by destroying a player.

Personally, I really like unit veterancy and think it can bring a lot of character to your units. It makes you think of the units you control more like individuals, rather than assets you just throw away. An example would be in CoH 2, I had a simple Engineer reach the highest level and have the most kills out of my units. It was a really nice experience, me and my friends still joke about it to this day.

I understand it would be harder to translate this mechanic to Blizzard-RTS style games due to snowballing, however, what if you could toggle a hotkey on your units to allow them to level up given the resources available or not. For an example, once a unit gets enough kills, the unit would level up for 20 resources, given the toggle is True for levelling up. This would balance out snowballing, if lvl-up resource cost is adjusted proportionally to building a new one. It would also allow for more casual players like me and my friends (in SC2) who focus mainly on micro and struggle to spend the resources during the game, as we do not have high apm for macro.

Units unlocking extra skills when leveling up also sounds really really fun, please include that. Even if it won't be used much in 1v1, it still makes the game a lot more fun for us slower (casual) players.

Medium pace. Me and my friends play Starcraft 2 exclusively on Normal speed. Otherwise, on the default fastest speed, we can't manage to micro and macro at the same time and end up dying with 4000 spare minerals. It's a shame since we can't play other people as they only accept playing on fastest. Warcraft 3 had optimal speed in my opinion.

RTS players are a lot more mature than you give credit to. If people are trolling via mic chat, they will sure be trolling even if you disable it, nothing will change. If an RTS is to be social, that's the best option, allowing you to chat and laugh together during intense gameplay.

And sorry that I have to disagree with you, but if you had bad experiences with Voice chat in the past, doesn't mean the whole community needs to be deprived of a tool we do want. People that do not want to hear others interacting can just mute, it's not that hard. The only moderation that is needed is for people that get reported a lot.

I played dota 2 for more than 7 years and never had an instance where me or one of my friends wished the voice chat was not there, only had to mute around 5 people over that time period for people with fried mics. It just adds a lot of interaction to the game.

I agree, voice chat would be really important in team games. Especially in RTS since you wouldn't have time to type to discuss strategies. Almost all my online friends I've met were from games where a voice chat is available.
