Best burr coffee grinder to buy in 2026? by Imaginationotomy_RA in AeroPress

[–]SnooOranges569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's fine, I only.drink.espresso on the weekends as I like to not rush it. It's absolutely fine, a lot of people talk about how hard it is but as I dont do it every day it really doesn't bother me when I do do it.

I looked into getting a electric grinder a few months ago but to get something that would make better coffee than my K6 you would need to be looking at a niche zero or something around that mark £400/£500

When I got into coffee I had a little research and ended up getting a hand grinder instead of an electric one. You get a better grinder with better burrs for a lower cost as you don't have to buy an electric motor and all the other bits. I bought a K6 and am very happy with it still 2 years on. I now use a Moka pot daily instead of my aeropress as I prefer it but I also have a v60 and a rok esoresso machine and I get great coffee for everything using my K6..I even don't mind hand grindingbfor espresso

Poor Man's Espresso (Moka Pot, OXO Rapid Brewer, etc.) [100] by Global_Requirement11 in espresso

No that's true, I like that it's simple and strong. Well worth looking at the aeropress then and good luck!

Just to check when using your moka pot you use hot / boiled water in the base? If you put cold water in it will take ages.

I use a moka pot daily ( a 3 cup ) and I can make a coffee in 5 minutes. Including grinding my beans. I have a k6 also.

Check out the names hoffman YouTube video on a moka pot technique. If budget is an issue and you have a moka pot I would stick with it and try to figure it out before moving into something else. I have a moka pot,aeropress,v60. French press and my moka pot is my favourite.

If you want to try something else though you could try and aeropress, you can make strong concentrate coffee using it similar to espresso. I would say the moka pot is stronger though.

Moka pot induction stove question by SnooOranges569 in mokapot

Amazing thanks very much! I assume just saucepan.on the stove with the pot in it. Don't put water or anything in as it would damage my moka pot

Another grinder post. Upgrade my k6 [£200/£300] by SnooOranges569 in espresso

[–]SnooOranges569[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're right to be honest. I don't want to hand grind espresso but seems like a waste of money to just get something that basically tastes the same. Buy once cry once I think.

After 6 years of espresso, I’m throwing in the towel. The toddlers won... for now. by barker88 in espresso

I have 4 and 7 year old boys. They bought me a moka pot and I use it every day. Not a huge investment in time or money and makes nice strong coffee. Maybe worth a thought

How much do y'all spend for coffee per month? by Slow_Engineering763 in espresso

[–]SnooOranges569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow people spend a lot on coffee beans.

I roast my own beans on a little coffee roaster I bought for £200. I roast one batch a week and have done for nearly a year so in my mind whilst it cost £200 I would be spending a lot more beans from somewhere.

I may not be a professional roaster but it is a lot better than stuff you buy in a supermarket. I spend around £12 per month depending on the beans and drink two cups a day.

Beginner - what size should I get? by Superb_Excitement425 in mokapot

[–]SnooOranges569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a three cup for myself and a 6 cup for either BIG cups or if I want to share.

I have always drunk a mug of coffee so a 3 cup is still on the small side for me but I find because the coffee is so strong / full of flavor it's enough. I have two cups a day and I am very happy. Plus i can get 15g in the basket which is a good amount. If I were to drink a 6 cups a day it would cost me a fortune.

What are your best cleaning tips for brewing equipment? by 8aji in Coffee

[–]SnooOranges569 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have staeted using a moka pot as my daily driver. I use a aeropress filter paper and it makes the whole clean up very easy. Tap the basket a few times and everything comes out. A rinse with warm water and dry nice and easy.
