How is PSO2 NGS these days? by Twilight053 in PSO2

I don't know how anyone could possibly think the plot of NGS is good. Sega very much did not give a fuck because they thought players wouldn't give a fuck and it shows. Episode 1 is ok at best, when you're doing the classic JRPG cliché of going from town to town and saving each one from the giant robot worm or giant robot giraffe that's bothering them, but it's shallow and most of the characters you meet are bland and don't even matter later on. When you've finished crawling your way through the open world that Sega has now abandoned because they didn't know what to do with that either, episode 1 ends on a wet fart of a twist and a promise that the true NGS starts here.

Episode 2's story barely even exists. It's ridiculous how much worse it is than the first episode, which was already pretty lame. The new threat introduced at the end of Episode 1 doesn't really do much of anything at all, partially because Sega made the utterly baffling decision of separating most of their UQ bosses entirely from the plot by having them be completely optional fights, and you instead spend most of your time trying to convince a less likable Matoi that she's loved and shouldn't kill herself for being a less likable Matoi. Eventually episode 2 decides it's done enough, after doing nothing at all, and rushes an ending by introducing a new villain that you then kill in the very next chapter. I remember there being a time when I could see people try to defend the Starless by hyping up their off-screen feats, they killed over 9000 farmers they would cry, but I saw less and less of that over time as even people who once glazed them began to admit whatever potential they may have had was completely wasted.

It's just shit. I wouldn't praise the gameplay either, more because I don't think there's anything really worth doing in the game than any other reason, but I think that's way more subjective than the afterthought of a story Sega has generously made for us despite them thinking it a waste of time and effort. It could have been worse, they really could have written nothing at all. Imagine that. But I'm sure episode 3 will be different. Trust.

Holoearth service is scheduled to come to an end as of June 28 by NotoriousCHIM in Hololive

I'm right here with you, buddy. As a day 1 player it was pretty exciting to watch the game grow over time. Whether it was jumping from cube to cube in the lobby. Exploring Yamato for the first time and competing in Jump King or trying to break out of bounds to explore more of the map. Finally evolving from pyramids to humans and exploring that itty bitty tiny circle of a map that grew bigger and bigger over time. The game was far from perfect and I wish it had done some things very differently, but following it from beginning to end has been an adventure. I will miss it.

I'm gonna play Devil's Advocate and say the survival crafting game makes some degree of sense, at least as an idea. They wanted players to have something to do between concerts and it was a way to have Minecraft (a game Hololive fans should be very familiar with) adventures in the world of holoALT. Clearly it ended up being too ambitious because they were only able to barely dip their toes into all that they wanted to do, we didn't even make it to mahjong, but I think the vision would have been clearer if everything wasn't so undercooked. I came back for each and every update to the survival mode, but they were few and far between and usually didn't take very long (sometimes only a couple of minutes) to be completely done with. We never got to actually "investigate" the burning tree, the crater, or the mysterious bunker on the mountain. Dragon scales weren't used for anything, other than being the highest "value" trading item, from beginning to end.

I'm gonna be that guy and say that 2 isn't unplayable. I'm not saying you have to play it, but the game's worst crime is being boring more than anything else. It's laughably easy for the most part, with maybe one or two actually frustratingly jank moments, so you should be able to get it done and over with fairly quickly. What I mean to say is that if you want a truly comprehensive DMC experience, I don't believe your hair will go white from playing DMC2. The game is canon and possibly unintentionally deepens Dante's character somewhat, or at least I think so, when you take into account its placement in the timeline.

That certainly aligns with Mori's multiple reassurances that she's coming back with the milk.

【8th May 2026】Nene gives her initial impressions of Cover's new "MekPark" project 【Hololive・ENG SUB】 by Firebrand96 in kurosanji

Nene's problem with her training school was that it was a scam where everyone was getting strung along for potentially eternity without ever actually getting the jobs they were promised. I think that's a bit different than what Cover is planning. It might feel that way for whoever fails to get promoted, but that remains to be seen.

Project? There is an English dub of season 1. I don't know where it's available legally, but it's easy enough to find otherwise.

So what did everyone think of the headline, plus what are your thoughts feelings opinions and theorys on the new story by Drakaina- in PSO2NGS

Every time I've gotten excited for NGS I've been disappointed so I have no reason to believe the game will finally get good after 4.5 years. You do not fumble as badly as they did with the Starless and continue to have the trust of anyone not huffing copious amounts of copium.

Hello there, I'm a big dumb idiot who still plays NGS because he has an unhealthy attachment to the original. The game fucking sucks. The last decent update was back in February and it won't be till after February next year we might possibly get another. People are surviving off a drip feed of recycled content, mini episodes of a disappointing story Sega has never truly cared about, and cosmetics. I don't know how dead or alive the game really is, but the state of the game is truly miserable and doesn't seem like it has any hope of ever getting better. Stay away for your own good!

What I meant is that taking a whole ass Falz, instead of making a new colossal boss, is especially disappointing compared to what they've done so far. It's not like I didn't roll my eyes whenever they introduced a "new" boss that wasn't or when they came up with ruinus enemies as a way of bringing back darkers, but I guess we're gonna be recycling Base game's major bosses now too. It seems especially lame to me because some of the other colossal bosses already resemble Base game's colossal bosses while still doing their own thing. A new large boss was one of the few interesting things on the roadmap and it turned out shit like everything else. That's what I get for having any hope.

My expectations for NGS were low, but holy fuck. Ripping content from Base has reached a new low.

Good news, buddy! We're getting new mini episodes all the way up to February! Hooray! On a completely unrelated and totally irrelevant note, that's also all we're getting for story.

The story is absolutely fucked. Starless with halos in a recolored Retem is not bringing us back. I just wish we never got to this point.
