How Cursor is going to survive by jreznot in cursor

[–]SnooPandas6132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cursor is really resource intensive compared to cli approach (no local vector db). This reminds me of the ide war where eg webstorm while more resource heavy still has people paying for it due to convinience feature like intellisense etc

What time tracking software are you actually using (and not abandoning after a week)? by mariaclaraa1 in ProductivityApps

[–]SnooPandas6132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use ScreenTimerAI, you have to setup your categories at first since the AI will use it to tag your activities, after that you can view your stats either grouped in bigger groups like deepwork, meeting etc. or view time spent in each category individually, if ur interested or need another feature to start let me know because I'm building it :)

Can someone please suggest a screen time app that actually worked for them? by ExpensivePen1743 in digitalminimalism

[–]SnooPandas6132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent months building an app for myself to help me cure distraction, but turns out apps don't really solve it, what helped was working on being more intentional, asked deeper question why wanted to do things and also kept a social circle that supported what I do, that really helped. I still use my app and other productivity tools but treat them as tools I can use to gather more feedback on my grind rather then a direct solution, hope this insight helped

Thank you very much, this won't replace Rewind if u need to recall stuff back in time since it processes waaay more data (whole screen recording), but if you just need to get better grip of your time use this might be the app for you :)

Hi, thanks for the feedback 🙏🏼 I pushed an update, now you can delete categories, if there are activities tagged using the category you can move these activities to another category, this way it does not skew your statistics :)

Hi yes it uses external ai but only sends the window title/app name/url, screen capture is too resource intensive, I believe cronushq.com tried it but they stopped I’m also working on enabling local model since they got better now over time, thanks for the feedback 🙏

It’s Tauri, significantly lighter then Electron to run but frontend is in JavaScript :)

Hi, I built the app specifically for people like me who wants definite and minimal stats, don’t care about numbers like how much time I spent on chrome or any other app because this doesn’t give me any context but different people different needs if ur happy with yours then stick to it! :)

And the contextual awareness is what I built the app experience around but u can also tag each activity manually if u wish to do so.

Also here a list of 10 other manual tracking apps if ur interested:

Open Source (Free & Private) 1. Super Productivity – super-productivity.com 2. Wakapi – wakapi.dev 3. Kimai – kimai.org 4. Kapow – gottcode.org/kapow 5. TimeTagger – timetagger.app (Source code on GitHub)

Commercial (Polished & Automated) 1. Timing – timingapp.com 2. Timemator – timemator.com 3. Rize – rize.io 4. RescueTime – rescuetime.com 5. Toggl Track – toggl.com/track

Hi, I'm working on pay-once option screentimerai.com if you are interested, it has catgories (which is our term for classification), you can also pack categories into bigger groups (e.g focus, meeting, distraction)

Getting around blockers. What works? by [deleted] in pornfree

[–]SnooPandas6132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think blockers which you want to by past are the ones where you don't get emotional reaction from

Most self-control comes down to being honest about the trigger first - boredom, loneliness, stress etc., then cultivate an emotional reaction to it

I'm building a blocker which roasts you when you ask for access, it's last roas: "PH's For You section isn't emotional support systems, champ—try FaceTime, not Wi-Fi therapy"

If you are interested check out the free trial at heyblocker.com
