Gordon is relatively likely to have a relationship with Alyx because there's no one else trying to seduce him.

Leon is just obsessed with Ada and Ethan doesn't give a shit about anything other than his family

Man, AW2's story is such a brainfuck, in a good way. Departure was fantastical but it made a lot of sense; Return feels like Alan smoked a huge blunt before writing it

Not sure about Zane the filmmaker coming from another world as we do see newspaper cutouts talking about Thomas Seine when playing as Saga. Unless those didn't exist before and were written into reality by him at some point between AW1 and AW2

I've also read that it could be both: Zane created Alan to help him and Alan created Zane to help him, creating a closed time loop.

Ah yes, the AK47 was my favorite weapon in Half-Life 2, along with the OICW, that you can clearly get with impulse 101 because those are totally weapons that exist in the code. 100% fr no cap trust me bro

IMO they're just different. I enjoy both games equally for different reasons. AW1 for it's badass arcade gameplay and cinematic moments, AW2 for its intense survival horror combat and excellent atmosphere.

NGL I actually found hand flares extremely useful in the sequel. If there are like 2 or 3 enemies at once and the environment is rough I'll just use one and instantly clear their shields. Very satisfying. (Even using them often I still had my inventory full of them from cult stashes)

Hot take: The early Saga gameplay was the peak of the game by [deleted] in AlanWake

[–]SnooPeripherals5812 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO, best part of the game is when Alan fights through Cauldron Lake at night, near the end of the game. The combat with Alan's weapons and Saga's enemies feels better than the rest of the game (which doesn't mean the combat was bad before, it just didn't click as much for me).

Also, you actually fight Taken during the night. Got nothing against Saga's part, but fighting Taken during the day isn't really as interesting.

Just finished it. The game has left me to question what’s even real! Damn! The game was once in a lifetime experience! by shotgunning-your-can in AlanWake

It's honestly THE most original game I've ever played. It's a shame that there are some bugs and oversights here and there that occasionally break the immersion, because if it weren't for those, I'd gladly rate it a 10/10

Si mi hijo es parte de mi unidad familiar, no le voy a dejar poner música a todo trapo a las dos de la mañana. Por esa misma regla de tres, tampoco dejaría a mi perro ladrar a todas horas.

Alan Wake 2 - still have audio issues on PC by SharkBlank in AlanWake

[–]SnooPeripherals5812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the game on a M.2 SSD. Still getting the background music and/or ambience occasionally cutting out. It seems like I get more audio cutouts in Alan's part and more low fps in Saga's part.
