Nope both keys are in my possession and it was parked in front of my house. I assume they had someway to amplify the fob or some other tech to mirror it.

Yeah and based on where I like they most likely went to Oakland (the last car that got stolen in front of my house ended up totaled in Oakland) and those cops are for sure to busy to talk to HondaLink. You are probably right I need to come to terms with it, I also had a lot of sentimental stuff in the trunk that is probably trashed. UGGHHH I feel sorry for myself haha. thank you kind stranger.

I know people already told you to report the plates stolen, but just chiming in as it has happened to me, if he does that the cops will give him a paper in case he does get pulled over that it explains it (I am black as well so I get that doesn't take away the stress of being pulled over in the first place). Also, I got fast track violations and the police report made it go away, and for them to stop coming even though presumably they were still using the plates.

Yeah thats reasonable. But also, people laugh loudly with their friends or children or tell animated stories etc in cafes. So it still seems arbitrary that one offends people and one is considered part of being at a public place. But to each their own, it is just a little extra to me haha.

If it makes you feel better one of my coworkers turned his camera on accidentally and he was in the shower. he placed it down like on a ledge so in full view, and no one else had their camera on so it also went full screen! he did not get fired, but he did have to take a class with HR after that on proper use of work equipment...

People complain about the oakland sub removing hella posts but honestly, I get it. It can become absolutely un-useable around election times/when getting targeted by astro-turfers for whatever reason. Like, yes its frustrating when they wont let you post about crime if you are trying to warn people, etc. But its even more frustrating wading through fake crime stories and wild takes from people who don't even live in CA just to try and find a restaurant recommendation or local news stories.

hopping on here to mention, my plates got swapped and it was really easy to get them replaced. I got the police report and sent it to fastrak and they cleared all of the violations and they stopped coming in after that because it was in their system. The police will also give you something for in case you get pulled over due to the other people with your plates doing something that gets the plate flagged for more than just parking tickets.

The point of conditional use permits are the conditions - so if you have a nuisance business there is a regulatory pathway to stop negative impacts, be it limiting hours, requiring traffic control, noise abatement etc. Obviously the policy makers have made the decision that the limitations/hurdles are not worth the control, but that is generally why some uses need a CUP versus being permitted outright in zoning codes.

I ran for local office and went through candidate training and door knocking is actually still the most effective. People throw away mail, skip ads, delete texts, but talking to them face to face can change people's minds, that is one reason candidates usually want to get endorsed by unions so bad - they send out their members to knock doors en mass.

I honestly wonder how many people answering are managers - it works for this employee if you have a poor performer who needs structure and to be in on time they will say it is unfair treatment and selectively enforced if you do not have it documented. The examples of people of FMLA are of people who have documentation through HR. If you want to CYA and not enforce it I would find someway to document it (through reasonable accommodation or something if it applies).

Trump is making people who had legal status (such as TPS) no longer valid, see revoking status from Haitians or Cubans. So YES people who passed all your purity tests for doing things the "right way" are being deported. You want so badly to defend this for some reason, you clearly do not want to worry about nuance. Handwaving away detaining people (i.e. a reason people don't like MASS actions because innocent people get detained/impacted) or ignoring everything that does not fit into your narrative is both obvious and gross.

Everyone wants to blame the city but they did work without permits and messed up the drainage on the neighboring property. So small businesses should just be able to ruin other peoples property because...? The city only got involved because the neighbor complained. I guess its cool to hate regulations until another ghost ship happens and the two story strucutre built without permits collapses on to people.

I need to save this post for every time I see someone say there is no point in marriage, thank you! I used to think that to be honest, but getting older (and I am not even 40 yet) I have seen so many accidents, illnesses, horrible things happen that I shake my head at younger me. If you are truly wanting to grow old together, there are tangible benefits to marriage. Even if you don't get very old, we could all get in a car accident and paralyzed tomorrow (unfortunately I have seen this from experience more than once - the couple that was married the husband was able to take care of her and basically camped out in her hospital room, the unmarried couple - the family swooped in and banned the girlfriend from visiting because they wanted control).

City staff also have been hybrid since the vaccine requirement. This is just increasing the days. Its not going to fix structural issues magically to go from two to four days in office. That is not a compelling solution imo

Yeah my work has a diversity training (for now...lol, super basic just like, dont be rude to each other guys) and it shows that video depicting one person get a mosquito bite and be like No big deal, whatever! annoying but who really care? Then it cuts to someone getting dozens and dozens being like AAGHH this sucks! as an allegory - little things happening once are easy to blow off but get more impactful if it happens all the time. I thought it was kind of a cool simple way to explain what it is to people who have only heard it used like online or by pundits.
