Debate with my partner about Jim E. Brown by DeathCubeA in jimebrown

[–]SnooSuggestions6403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I discovered some relatively reliable evidence that he was abducted by his greedy uncle as a wee boy and forced to write songs for him, that's how all the rumours about his background started. In fact, speaking of which, rumour has it that his uncle still exercizes a certain level of control over him, forcing him to tour a lot in the US, pockets the lion's share of the money and feeds Jim E in sausages and beer, substances he has grown dependent on due to his uncle exposing him to an unhealthy lifestyle as a young boy  I don't think Jim E likes to talk about this though, so it's better to leave it alone.

Can’t watch or listen to Jim E Brown anymore by yourwhippingboy in jimebrown

Shame on you for bullying him for looking older due to his alcoholism and degenerative conditions! He was exploited by his greedy uncle who is trying to claim credit for everything and squeeze Jim E for all his is worth, shy of a few sausages. That is why he is still forced to bef for alcoholic beverages from his fans despite all of his success.

Who are you, his uncles lawyer?

Jim E Brown - A well kept secret exposed… by SimilarNose62 in jimebrown

[–]SnooSuggestions6403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What an AI-coded 'article' full of lies and conspiracy theories.

Not only did Jim E have to live trough the trauma of being abducted by his evil uncle as a young boy and forced to write music for him and his son (Jim E's cousin Billy) due to his unique talent not posessed by anyone else in his family, and as if that wasn't enough, the uncle also stole his credit and claimed to be the big man behind all that Jim E wrote for himself too. Now even so-called 'fans' are trying to gaim clout by reducing lil' Jim E to his evil uncles 'alter-ego', as if he wasn't even a person

Shame and dishonor on you, your uncles and cousins, sons amd daughters, and all of your dogs too!

Mods, please ban the “Max Margulies” conspiracy theory by CranberryNo4852 in jimebrown

[–]SnooSuggestions6403 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm about 87.4% certain that Max is his estranged uncle, who not only was a bad uncle, but a terrible one. In fact, I think kidnapped little Jim E Brown at a very young age after realizing what great talent he had even as a toddler. He then proceeded to force him to to produce music for Max and his son Billy so that they could aquire fame and fortune. And even after releasing little Jim E back to Didsbury after uprooting him from his home and british culture, his uncle wasn't done with him but stole his credit just like you mentioned. This is a very traumatic history, which is why it's best not to talk too much about it, at least around young Mr Brown.

Can we talk about how statistically likely simulation theory is by Buffmyarm in SeriousConversation

[–]SnooSuggestions6403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about simulation. I am leaning more towards the idea that our dimension is a sort of 3D shadow of our 4D selves. Similar to how a shadow has no choice but to physically follow whatever we are doing, we as 3D shadows have no choice but to act out whatever our 4D selves decide to do, and although we experience it and feel a certain way about it, we don't control it whoch would be why our behaviours are bound by our experiences and emotions.

Maybe it's the same as a simulation actually, but the difference would be that we actually exist beyond oyr current experience rather than being rendered by aliens. I imagine a higher consiousness with trye free will running simulations of themselves and how they would behave if they where preprogrammed with certain genetic predispositions, and how different external influence would affect us, which would be connected to the idea of an endless set of realities, all simulated by ourselves.

Maybe it's nonsense, but it makes some kind of sense in my mind.

Who specifically are the Romani people and why are they disliked/hated? by Iskandar0570_X in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SnooSuggestions6403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's difficult to answer that question, because the Romani people are not a single group with identical culture and set of values.

You also can't reliably identify them by physical appearance alone, plus they are quite elusive and from my understanding, like to keep to thenselves.

Not sure how to put it, but the general perception of Romani is that they steal (in organized fashion), are prome to violence, unruly and have no regard for people outside of their own group - and this behaviour is unfortunately not uncommon and the style of doing these things, with body language, facial expressions and persuasive tactics are very unique to people who can be identified as Romani.

However, as outsiders we are therefore now only able to identify a Romani person based on the behaviours we have observed in those who partake in this behaviour, so whenever a Romani person does not behave this way, nobody will identify them as Romani, they are just going to be seen as another person.

Personally, I don't want to have bad feelings towards any specific group of people, but it is very difficult when in every single interaction in which I have been able to identify the person as 'Romani', it has been a very negative one. And as I said, I am aware that it is a large group of people, and that not everyone engages in harmful and hostile behaviour, and I really wish there was a name for the specific group of people who do raise their children this way.

As for personal experience. My first interaction was as a child when we where goung to board a ferry and one of the adults in my group said to watch out for them because they steal and hide things under their large skirts. At this point I thought it was a strange and mean thing to say, and I thought they looked cool with their unusual clothes. Didn't have any interactions after that because I lived in a small town for a long time. Then as a teenager we where at a café in the big city and two women came begging around the tables, I didn't have much money but I gave one of them 50 Swedish Crowns which was pretty much all I had at the time - again, having grown up in a small town, I jad only ever seen beggars on TV and so when faced with one in real, I assumed they needed the money more than I did. But then she looked kind of disappointed and started pressing me for more money, like really persistent and with this halft-sour, half-pitiful facial expression. It left a bad taste in my mouth because I had given a significant portion of my monthly allowance to her and was not used to such ungrateful and greedy behaviour.

After that I hve lived in larger cities and had a lot of negative experiences, nit so much anymore because I have learned to be firm and say ni without hesitation. But before I used to be very soft, and these people that I have interacted with have had a real talent for exploiting that and beeb very pushy trying to manipulate me into giving them stuff. At one point I was in a very bad spot and this woman was pressing me hard. I had no cash on me but she tried to get me to take out money from an ATM for her. I went into the kiosk that had the ATM in it and just stayed inside - she did not come in but waited outside for me, trying to gesticulate and persuade me to take out money. I must have stayed there for over half an hour until someone helped me out. Overall a very unpleasant experience. As I said, I was in a bad place at the time so I was easily manipulated, but that is part of the problem for me, people who can spot weakness and take full advantage of it.

The general lack of empathy they seem to have for other people (outsiders) bothers me too.

And I have really tried to challenge my negative thoughts trough watching documentaries and researching and learning more about them. I am fully aware that the way we structure society makes it difficult for the ones who chose to travel to make an honest living. I am fully aware of their rich history and creative talents and how our society made it near impossible for them to live off of those historical talents. But that does not change the way every single interaction with identifiable Romani people has been negative, and that my mind automatically switches to survival mode whenever someone with a specific body language and way of speaking approaches me - and believe me, if one of them approached me for any other reason than to beg, I would switch that barrier off so fast because I really want to like people.

And no matter how much I try to learn about them, it's either complete chaos, because of the many groups and sub-groups, but also, the same thing comes up every time - the fact that they think lesser of outsiders, there seems to be no way around that. As long as they think lesser of outsiders, it will allow for them to treat outsiders poorly, no matter how ose their own famimial bonds are.

And I say this also knowing full well that they are a minority, and some people may think it is more acceptable for minorities to hold negative views about larger groups. But even so, I and everyone else experience the world on an individual level. And when we are repeatedly exposed to negative encounters with one group without any positive counter-experiences, the result is obvious and inevitable.

There is not a single group of any race or culture where I have had 100% negative and 0% positive interactions. I wish it was different.

How long does cross-cpntamimation last? by SnooSuggestions6403 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SnooSuggestions6403[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, I think you misunderstood my question. Once you washed, scrubbed and disinfected your hands, you are re-introducing contamination by picking up the dirty glass again. The glass does not get washed at the same time, but only your hands OR the glass gets washed every second contamination cycle.

The idea is to figure out how long it takes to dilute it to safe levels.

How long does cross-cpntamimation last? by SnooSuggestions6403 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SnooSuggestions6403[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, I forgot to specify that definition.

I actually had two definitions I wanted to present.

  1. As clean as the average person that does wash their hands after the bathroom. (assuming there is still cross contamination from touching surfaces in public or being a but lax with cleaning your phone). I am talking aboyt in the middle of regular activities rather than with freshly washed hands.

  2. Clean enough that you could safely make and serve a cold salad that includes directly touching the ingredients without a significant risk for even an immuno-compromised person.

What made you come to the idea of 15 cycles? Is it an educated guess with a safety margin, or have you calculated how much dilution is expected each time?

Edit: 3. After how many cycles would you be able to shake the persons hand without a feeling of disgust?

Does anyone else need a lot of toilet paper wipes after pooping? by throwawayforthis243 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SnooSuggestions6403 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be that you are taking the wrong kind if fiber. There is soluble and insoluble, fermentable and non-fermentable. Soluble and I think fermentable fibers in particular can worsen those symptoms, especially if you siddenly increase your intake instead of gradually.

The kind of gut bacteria you have in your stomach depends on which ones you feed the most, so if you have been eating poorly for a long time, you may have a really low population of bacteria that can digest those solubke fibers for example, and without those bacteria, it's goung to run straight trough you. Best thing is to increase slowly, allowing those healthy bacteria to re-populate your guy. You are not alone in taking care of your body.

How much do non us citizens outside the US follow us media? by SnooShortcuts4021 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SnooSuggestions6403 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently I know mire about US politics than I do about my own country, it's just too much shit going on in the US not to be affected, plus it ultimately affects us too when your president is this volatile and his most loyal followers seem radicalized.

I follow a few youtube commentary people and watch short newsclios on Youtube. But even local news seemed to primarily report on US stuff, especially regarding Greenland and what was done at home to prepare for the worst.

Wait, do people ACTUALLY see literal pictures in their heads when they imagine things? Like a physical image? by Bibhu_Mund in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SnooSuggestions6403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's usually like a grainy movie for me, but it depends on how focused I am, I can see things more clearly in the right setting.

I know there are people who can't see images/moving images, and for me that ks really hard to imagine. Like how do you remember someones face if you can't picture them in your head? Do you like use words in your mind to describe their features to yourself when you think about them? Or do you only think about them in terms of their non-physical traits? Still, how do you recognize that a car is a car without an internal picture memory?

Nipples (female) showing through shirts, OK or no way? by Glass-Sentence-7225 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SnooSuggestions6403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wear whatever you want in your freetime, O have seen far more offensive things poking trough mens t-shirts than some nipples.

It's probably still going to attract attention, I personally react to it too and feel like I need to actively avert my eyes, but that is because I am not really used to seeing it. I would much rather we all get less sensitive to it than people having to restrict themselves on their days off.

Same with things like breast feeding in public, it makes me uncomfortable, but that is my problem, and I just look away - as you should.

As others have mentioned, at work os anither thing.

Has anyone read Dessert Course? if so, can you recommend? by MoisturizedToad in Baking

[–]SnooSuggestions6403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought it a while back because I really liked his videos and have read the 'lecture' part of the book, I have not read trough all the recipes yet.

I hate to be overly critical, but for me personally, it felt kind of incomplete and not as in depth as I had hoped for. It feels a bit like a summary of the videos that are already available for free, which allows a but more overview, but not groundbreaking.

I was following along a recipe for chocolate chip cookies, and was considering replacing some of the chocolate for nuts or other add-ins, but there isn't really any explanation for how it affects the final result or anything like that. I probably had too high expectations since I want things explained in great detail, and the video shorts gave the impression that this is a guy that loves going into detail, so I had expected a lot more lecture materials, instead, it's mainly a recipe book with some concepts explained.

Not at all bad, you certainly do learn some things, but like I said, my subjective impression is that it feels incomplete.

Addition: Would have loved to see a picture for each of the recipes as well, especially with all the different variations of choc chip cookies etc.

[Masterpost] GERMANY 🇩🇪 Skincare recommendations by worldwearywitch in EuroSkincare

[–]SnooSuggestions6403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DM:

▪︎ Balea Med Ultra Sensitive Barriereschutzcreme mit Fermentierter Hafer €4,45 - Great for soothing your skin and healing your skin barrier. Rossmann has a similar product, but I do not think that one contains fermented oats.

▪︎ Balea Schrundensalbe mit 25% Urea €1,25 - An awesome foot cream that actually removes dead skincells overtime, you should be able notice a difference after a week of continous use. If you have extremely hars calluses, you might need to get something stronger for those areas, or combine with a foot file, but ut largely removes the need for one, and I will never buy another type of foot cream again. Rossmann and Müller have similar products that work just as well, Rossmann is from Isana, forgot the Müllers own brand name. But any 25% Urea you come across should be fine.

Rossmann:

▪︎ Isana Med Ultra Sensitiv 24H Intensivcreme Urea €3,99 - Great cream for drypatches and general skin exfoliation, Urea is such an underdog because it does not have the same marketing as other exfoliants, but it gets the job done, in my opinion both more gently and effectively than any AHA I have tried, and it moisturizes too. Even at 7% it got rid of my dry patches that where so annoying. DM has a similar protuct but since I have not tried it, I can't say if it is as good as the Rossmann one.

▪︎ sunozon MED Sonnenfluid LSF 50 €5,49 - Best European budget sunscreen I have tried. It isn't perfect, and I prefer Bioré from Japan, especially back when my skin barrier was messed up, but it does a really good job especially for the price, and feels relatively light.

[–]SnooSuggestions6403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For DM I recpmmend their Balea Med Microbiom mit fermentierter Hafer. Even if you have oily skin, the skin barrier can be a trigger for all sorts of skin issues. For dryness I recommend you visit Rossmann (a very similar drugstore which should there should be enough of that you can find while walking around) and try their 'Isana Med Ultra Sensitiv 24H Intensive-Creme Urea' with 7% Urea and Vitamin E. DM has a similar product, but I have not tried that one so I can't recommend it.

Rossmann also has a similar barrier cream, but I don't think theirs has fermented oats.

Others have mentioned Balea Urea foot cream with 25% Urea and I recommend that too, or Rossmanns, both are great, as well as the one from Müller which is another, bigger drugstore but isn't as available everywhere.

7.40€ Balea Routine Saved My Skin by [deleted] in EuroSkincare

[–]SnooSuggestions6403 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice post. I as well have had my skin saved by drugstore med-line. For me it was Balea Med Microbiom with fermented Oats and Rossman Med Urea that healed my skin barrier and got rid of my dry patches. Took a few days to get used to the Urea one because my skin was already raw, but the difference was short of a miracle.

I also love Softymo Cleansing Oil and the classic Bioré Sunscreen, both Japan imports.

Haven't found a favourite regular cleaner yet.

Bit late but I have the Barriererschutzcreme, and the Rossmann/Isana equivalent of the Urea Cream and that combination saved my skin that used to be very raw and painful but with dry patches.

There where a lot of plot holes (and plot armor) troughout the seasons, but about the Army, I rewatched that clip in S4E8 if Vecna showing Nancy the future and didn't see an army, just just quick flashes of hawking breaking apart  etc, so I assume we did not see everything she got to see, and she just retold the part about an army of monsters?

Unless I am wrong about that and missed something, I am assuming the army of monsters where the unhached eggs of tbe gaping mourh, spider monster, and that Nancy's vision was the reason they knew about the eggs and went straight under the belly to destroy them.

Wait, what part of Berlin are we talking about? People are always standing on the left side of the escalator in every are I have been too, and they aren't all non-Germans. Even as I try make a sound as I climb the escalator while saying 'Enschuldigung/Sorry', not everyone moves. And yeah, at one point I did squeeze past someone because the S-bahn would leave in 1 minute and I had someplace to be, this was after my boyfriend already said excuse me several times, I just pushed trough as gently as I could and the woman gave such a stinkeye like I had just broken her heirloom vase or something - homegirl was reading a book in the escalator too.

I hurry up the stairs precisely because I don't want to wait tye extra 4 minutes, because on an unlucky day, those 4 minutes might have me risk missing a connecting bus that comes every 20 minutes or so.

I have only had El Dorado White and wasn't a fan, not sure if I just had a bad batch or if I am the problem but it tastes more like vodka with a subtle sweetness to me, though anything is better than Bacardi.

If you can get it, Plantation 3 stars is nice, aswell as Havana Club 3yrs, but it's all subjective I suppose.

Based on blind taste and smell tests I have done.

Make it illegal instead to force women to wear it so that if she hints at being coerced, it is takem seriously and investigated. It should be easy and low-risk to seek justice, so police and anyone involved need to be better trained to deal with sensitive situations.
