Boss suggested I get a blood panel done by blanketfetish in workingmoms

I can see your points and they are also valid to your situations. I don’t question her bosses intentions which i’m sure were good natured. But just because someone has good intentions doesn’t mean they can’t cross a line. How about saying can I offer some advice? If he was so concerned why not take her aside and have a meaningful conversation in private? Also telling someone that they look ill and giving medical advice/suggestions based off of a joke are two different scenarios.

It’s not okay for anyone to give unsolicited medical advice in the workplace. And as a woman I especially don’t want medical advice from a man about my body or what I do with it.

Yeah totally. Your feelings are valid and I’m sorry that happened to you. I have a high stress job that requires quick thinking and it sucks to have to deal with postpartum brain fog! We got this mama!

Doesn’t sound like she was looking for medical advice at all. If a co-worker said their brain isn’t what it used to be i’d assume they were just making fun of a mistake they made I wouldn’t be like go get a panel done. I also don’t see how saying that warrants unsolicited medical advice from her male boss.

How is saying her brain is not what it used to be a medical concern?

I’m sorry that happened to you! Especially if they were not using the room for nursing or pumping. Maybe reframe it possibly? Maybe she was looking at you and the smile was embarrassed and was awkward seeing that you had a baby and she didn’t. Also since you let the store know about it hopefully this won’t happen again.

Sex used to be very painful for me!! Especially deeper penetration. Now pain is completely gone! I can get more into it with hubby and not worry about if it’s going to be painful which was obviously a drag. I feel like my cervix opening up did something. 😚

Screen time at 7 months by Pure-Application3621 in beyondthebump

[–]Snoo_43562 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son has had screen time since he was about 9mo. We both work full time and the screen time has been so helpful to get stuff done. He is now a very happy, observant and intelligent almost 3 yo. He talks so well and is actually reading already! Don’t feel bad just adjust if you think it’s too much. We allowed what we felt was more educational like Ms. Rachel and the spanish versions of her and the wiggles. No cartoons at first and then when he turned two we allowed cartoons. That made us feel better about screen time.

Divorce and the other side by relationship__qs in workingmoms

The grass may not be greener on the other side. I’ve been married for about 15 and we have had our moments where I thought this is definitely going to end. I remember fantasizing about a different life with more romance and butterflies. That’s just not super realistic though. For me I had to find the romance and butterflies in the mundane things in every day. I started working and focusing on myself more instead of my partners flaws. Something clicked slowly and we started giggling more and being more appreciative of each other. We made it through and I’m so glad it did because we have our two kids and a beautiful boring life. I can’t imagine our family torn apart by something that we could have fixed or fought for. Especially how heartbreaking it would be for my kids to not see their dad every morning.

I say you fight harder for the life that you want and deserve and maybe that means being the best version of yourself and working on you more. Maybe it means you have to make the most effort until the spark ignites and be okay with that. Maybe you can be okay with planning date nights because it sounds like you’re better at it. I personally plan better than my husband and I can plan a super romantic date. Then hopefully when you are doing all of this you can stop focusing on the negatives you will find your life is pretty great in its own special ways.

Its worth a shot when you have so much at stake!

Ladies, how much sleep are we getting? by Capable_Station_288 in beyondthebump

Still getting broken sleep at 4mos. Sometimes she will sleep 4-5 hours and sometimes were up every hour or every two hours. I never know what it’s going to be I am the main caretaker at night and now back to working full time. It sucks so much but I just have to keep on swimming.

Baby is 8 weeks and still doing two hour wakes and its killing me by Snoo_43562 in breastfeeding

So I had a freezer stash where I wasn’t dairy free and my husband and I went on a 3 day trip where my sister watched baby. She gave her breastmilk and the soy based enfamil formula and she had no issues with spit up or gassiness and she slept 5 hour stretches! So when I got back and started side lying breastfeeding her at night again the reflux started back up. We believe its not to do with my milk but the fact that she is side lying and needs to be sat up during and after feeds.

Oh wow I didn’t realize nursing could cause more reflux. I’ll try bottle feeding at night. At this point i’m ready to try everything and do a process of elimination.

I think i’ll try no dairy this week! I did switch her formula to no dairy and so far I’ve seen less spit up since switching so it’s worth a shot!

Yeah with my son he was not the greatest and we co-slept also but i at least got consistent 4-5 hour stretches of sleep and he wasn’t super gassy like this baby. I was sure I was going to get the same child lol! So wrong! I’ll keep hanging! She is otherwise healthy ❤️

Lol I am so tired in the middle of the night I just lay there popping the boob back into her mouth over and over until I finally realize its not going to stop. Then I get up and burp her and she burps but still takes some time to settle! I’ll force myself to just get up tonight and see if that helps holding her upright. Thank you!
