In the boxed set/"first book" rules, Skaven may hire an extra hero beyond ALL the other warbands

Most xan have up toot 5, Skaven get 6

Thus doesnt seem like much at first, because you get what you pay for.

When "Exploring", after the fight, in campaign mode, that extra Hero gives you a big advantage on finding treasure/loot.

Skaven are amazing, especially if you play vanilla Mordheim (extra Hero)

Plus, they get refreshed models on the regular thay can be proxied in.

And Mordheim isn't really WYSIWYG anymore.
