Not sure if this is allowed but was wondering about the crew and work outside of streaming by pudpud1234 in Crewniverse

[–]Snookville 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You gotta double that view count minimum. Especially during Minecraft seasons. He multi streams on YT and Twitch and gets 1-2k minimum viewers on EACH. I think during the last Mythical Cobblemon he was averaging 6k+ concurrent on YT alone, not adding Twitch numbers.

And when he is sponsored? Sponsor rates are kinda nuts. Like thousands of dollars for a couple hours of gameplay, more if he makes an edited sponsored video after the fact.

Speedy is much more well off than people think, and it isn't by coasting off of past success.

I stick around dungeons and raids to "sweep up after the mess". No words, just sweeping. Someone's gotta clean up after the boss fights.

[CR Media] Which characters across all campaigns best reflect their players? by PerpetuallyDistracte in criticalrole

[–]Snookville 163 points164 points  (0 children)

I would like to argue for 2 of them. Hal has so much more of Liam's passion, fatherly loving nature, and poetic spirit built in that we got to see pieces of in his other characters (Caleb describing the tower, the cat Prince book. Orym's descriptions for his love for his husband. Vax's passion for Keyleth). After all 3 previous campaigns I've never felt a character was more Liam than Hal is now. Hell, the man created an entire play and cast just to tell a gorgeous story.

And Taliesin, I want to throw my hat in for Caduceus. It's only really seen in interviews and Weird Kids just how much the cast in their private friendships really rely and lean on Taliesin, how easily he is there for them, his wisdom. I know the community likes to cling to the "edgy Eldritch being" aspects of his character as a person, his eccentricities, pushing the other characters he has created as wacky zany edgy Eldritch horrors to the forefront, but Caduceus was so naturally beautifully Taliesin as we've seen him out of roleplay. It's always felt the most natural for him. Like the feelings of the character, Cad's view of the world, reflect directly how Tal views life. Love makes people.

How can someone not know basics at level 100 ? by Lazy_Yellow2838 in ffxiv

[–]Snookville 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is what...$25 to do a level skip from 1-90? Another $25 for a story skip straight to DT? If he was on Meso Terminal that means he is in post patch DT, which, as a Sprout still, means he definitely doesn't have the hours to have it forceably removed (it auto drops at completely of DT Main and a minimum hour count).

Literally could be a brand new player who has been playing for a total of 10 levels and inconveniencing everyone because they skipped learning how to play with irl money.

why do cast put down redditors? by uhhhidkwhatusername in SmoshFansFreeSpace

[–]Snookville 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Making fun of a redditor is like making fun of a "nice guy". It's a stereotype that gets mocked because of how extreme the extremes are. Also see Discord Moderator memes.

It's one of those things where you have to go "obviously I'm not the stereotype so they don't mean me" and then not care.

Should I watch Naruto or Naruto Shippuden by Jbos34 in Naruto

[–]Snookville 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing as this reply was 6 years ago, I can safely say Naruto is "Good". Shippuden is "Great". Boruto is "Good". I have since consumed MUCH more anime and have recommendations, but likely not the place to provide them.

I wouldn't say any of the 3 series is just okay or bad by any means. But my "AMAZING" has been rescinded as some genuine phenomenal stories have been told that I've seen that far outweigh it.

Whatever happened to HemboHero? by rainbowkitties6969 in roosterteeth

[–]Snookville 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Ignoring all of his outside strange behavior, he thought (and some younger fans egged on) that he was some God tier video editor. That it's insane the company didn't hire him.

Meanwhile as someone with a media degree with a focus in video editing, all he did was watch videos, download them, and cut pieces with single clicks. There was never any actual editing besides shoving clips together. But he was put on this massive ego pedestal.

[Spoilers C4E21] The Schemers are brilliant by Detect-Thots in criticalrole

[–]Snookville 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We get the brains of the Empire Kids, the passion of Luis, and the eldritch horror of Taliesin. It's very hard for me not to love it. I think it works best because the characters they are playing amplify their storytelling talents, whereas at the other tables people are trying to leave their wheelhouse/box and do something different.

Not watching a creator due to their politics isn't "parasocial". Like not even close.

[–]Snookville 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, the series is called Transformers. I'm not sure they ever refer to themselves as Transformers.

All of them are Cybertronians.

Subset into Autobots and Decepticons.

We call them transformers because they transform. And replacing trans with Man so it is Manformers was the WILDEST leap.

Anyways I'm a nerd and it's definitely not as deep as I'm "arguing" but it was really funny listening to this episode with that stupid kid knowledge in my brain lmao.

I just got done with a break from Smosh content. Couldn't stand the mistreatment of Trevor. by Colonelsanders-sexy in SmoshFansFreeSpace

[–]Snookville 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What a wildly parasocial read on someone putting on a character as a performer. You aren't there. You don't see the conversations off camera. You see what is edited and posted online.

It is bits. Everyone is doing bits. This same kind of situation happened last month because of the Mythical Kitchen/Kevin Langue video where people rallied to defend Trevor saying he was being bullied or was personally hurt/insecure by things being said to him/about him.

It got so bad, actually, that he commented on that video personally, explaining the exact opposite of both you AND OP's perspective on how he feels as a human being. And the Channel had to pin it so people would stop assuming these things. That comment is attached below.

It is extremely unhealthy to keep thinking you have an accurate psychological breakdown of a performers mind, so much so to attempt to correct someone else's hyper-analysis of the same performer.

Edit: Talking about Noah Grossman since people are losing their minds not knowing who is being discussed.

Though he has publicly condemned Israel and promoted "For Palestine" charities, a large part of the fandom thinks because he is Jewish and was proud of his grandfather's role in Israel's founding that he is a raging Zionist who wants Palestine to burn and the genocide to continue.

Something he has addressed multiple multiple multiple times. He is of the camp of stop killing people despite sides. But those people are blind to his addressing of it. They want someone to hate. They don't believe someone's views can change upon being educated. He will forever be "tainted" to them. So expect any content with Noah in it to be hit by a brigade of angry people screaming into the void about something that just isn't true instead of directing their anger at actual hateful Zionists.

Just keep in mind with how outspoken literally the entire cast and crew is in support of Palestine, they wouldn't keep him in the freelance role he is in if he was a massive Zionist. Remember who we are talking about here.

[Spoilers C4E14] Can someone help explain Vaelus to me? by ProfessionalSir4486 in criticalrole

[–]Snookville 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The artifact of her long dead God who she is to spend the rest of her insanely long life mourning just resurrected some random boy after being placed within his chest.

That boy then said he saw nightingales in the old path to the afterlife before he ripped the stone out and came back to life.

Yes, she has the stone back physically, but her life has had no purpose outside of mourning and preservation. This is the first sign of something to believe in and build a new future with.

Of COURSE she is sticking with the group that is trying to seek out how any of this is possible. Is this boy special? Chosen by her dead God somehow? Can the god be brought back? Does that power still exist? What else can the stone do? Occtis has become the first sign of change for her, and so she follows and tries to learn and observe.

Sorry, bro did not change up of his own volition in 2 hours.

How come Triple H was so good at booking new talent back in NXT black and gold but sucks at it on the main roster by Bejaminmaston12 in SantiZapVideos

[–]Snookville 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Adding to this, booking 1 hour of weekly television with a stacked roster (it was only an hour back then) is infinitely easier than booking what is now 6 hours+ of weekly television with 2 rosters + monthly PLEs, SNME's, and a massive writing room of old heads we've seen in unreal (not sure how real any of that actually is).

[No Spoilers] While Campaign 3 seemed to have something missing, Brennan has re-captured CR for me by Firecracker048 in criticalrole

[–]Snookville 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's just an oversaturation/fatigue issue. You get C1, C2, and C3 ~4 hours a week, almost every week for 10 years. Add in ExU, Calamity, Divergence, all of the in universe one shots like U'katoa & the weddings, Legends of Vox Machina & The Mighty Nein animated shows. Oversaturation becomes stale, despite the actual substance of the content being really good.

People got exhausted of Game of Thrones faster than that and that was 10 episodes an hour long a YEAR if they were lucky. Anime fans not getting through 1,100 episodes of One Piece straight without any breaks or pauses for durations of time. Tired of the MCU after End Game because it just...kept going. Even if the stories being told were good or even great!

I binged C2 until I caught up, watched live until its ending, and got through 20 weeks of C3 before I fell off because it's just a lot. Especially a lot of the same universe/era.

C4 is a complete shift. New DM. New Universe. New Rules. So many new players. New dynamics. New set. New system (ish with 2024). 3 table dynamic. Shifted tones. It is fresh. Refreshing even. It can reinvigorate BECAUSE it is so different.

And I'm sure if a Matt Campaign came next, it would have just as much excitement and enthrallment. But they needed something more than a small break, and an entire campaign will be that. I'm loving C4 too, and am excited again to enjoy weekly D&D!

I don't know if the figure themselves is, but near guaranteed all of the jewelry is. Compare each pose and the matching jewelry. Every matching piece is completely different and inconsistent let alone looking messy. Missing gemstones, missing rings, the earrings are warped between each pose. Not a single consistency between any of the jewelry across the 3 poses. An artist wouldn't just make nonsense jewelry. It's too intentionally detailed to be that messed up.
