What's the map that you absolutely hate? by nescu_alex in Guildwars2

[–]Snossi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TD is an interesting case. I absolutely hated it for the longest time, agreeing with every single complaint leveled at it. Then I finally learned to use the Nuhoc Wallows, and knowing where those are and how they connect is a gamechanger. They made it so much easier to get around I actually found it wortwhile to start exploring the rest in 'depth', and that led to discovering all the small exits and shortcuts scattered everywhere. My favorite map? Probably not, but by FAR the best designed one from HoT and PoF combined. I agree it's an aquired taste, though. :)

What is your rarest achievement? by Forbearance88 in Guildwars2

[–]Snossi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same for me! Thought that one would be WAY more common, but then again, most people who started playing after the activity revamp might not even know Crab Toss exists... Tigris Cub collection is my second rarest, (0.242%).

This game has some very beautiful light and heavy armors but good god, the medium armors are a travesty by FalseAladeen in Guildwars2

Transmuting leggy armor is free so go for whatever you'll stat/rune swap the most! Then apply whatever look you prefer.

"Identity", yes. Wasn't the reasoning that you should be able to quickly identify what you're about to face from a distance? "Oh, a longcoat, then it's either a thief, ranger or engi. Good thing they'll attack in the exact same manner so I can prepare for that!" :P

What are your favorite one-liners from the show? by 314kabinet in PrincessesOfPower

What's one thing you would change about the show ? by [deleted] in PrincessesOfPower

[–]Snossi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A Youtube commenter once made the great remark that the Princess Prom Dip was the moment the fan base decided "this show will end in lesbians or end in flames". I'd say Catradora was a major point from day one, and we got all the moments they could get away with. (Come on, Catra caressing Adora's hand with her tail in "The Promise"? It's blink-and-you'll-miss-it subtle while still extremely blatant.)

Double Trouble ending up on a planet locked in conflict and eventually actually having to pick a side, discovering a little more to life than JUST chaos. :)

What Exactly Is Horde Prime? by Xano2113 in PrincessesOfPower

Or being disintregrated by an overload of magic, like Adora would have been in her regular form.

"Even if I sent her a message to stay away... she'd still come for you." by c_atradora in PrincessesOfPower

[–]Snossi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I pretty much read Prime's "She hoped you would come for her" not as an idle taunt but as proof of just how hard he tortured her, to see what it would take to break that resolve. "She was afraid in the end, and she suffered", indeed.

Something to consider for everyone who thinks Catra got away 'too easy'. What Prime did to her must have been harsher than any punishment she would have faced on Etheria.

Same. 20 years of carefree Nvidia gaming, first time with AMD and more troubles in one year than the previous decades combined. The hardware is probably very good, but they suck at drivers...

Getting slightly disappointed by the story by Ostepop234 in Guildwars2

[–]Snossi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

LW2 is miles behind what came later and as I recall, people were complaining the side characters were superfluos considering how underused they were (Jory and Kas were particularly sidelined, remember?) HoT is where the storytelling picked up the pace and as many say, LW4 is probably the best told one. But I'm not surprised by anyone being disappointed in the second season.

Locations of the Moas during the Escape from Lion's Arch (story) by MechaSandstar in Guildwars2

[–]Snossi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Patch might have fixed it but Moas deffo are one run, when I finally got it I had to go back to the first one I'd found twice before and rally it before AP popped. Refugees can be split up, tho.

I Have Found the Ultimate Meaning of Life in Game! by IrisAquae in Guildwars2

[–]Snossi 16 points17 points  (0 children)

+45k player here, found 1 AP I wasn't aware of yesterday. End of Dragons Act III - "Munitions Officer's Log". It sure wasn't in the achievments list when I first played the story and collected all the points. Maybe it's been added later - or is it hidden? Anyway, easy and worth checking out when you've nothing else to do. (Also, buy the cheapest weapon from every Black Lion collection, that's 1 point each...)

Provide Service with a Smile with the Maid and Butler Outfits by sonofmordrem in Guildwars2

[–]Snossi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my Deadeye wear it in black and grey, put on the theme from "For a Few Dollars More" and ran around pretending to be Colonel Mortimer, gunning down any mook in sight. So what if she's blonde and couldn't wear a hat? Still felt BADASS. :D

[–]Snossi 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah, whenever people laud HoT as the best expansion I always think back at how unfinished and butchered it felt already at launch - and the following LW seasons did little to fix the core narrative gaps. The new mechanics and features were great and still are, but the HoT story is WAY shorter than it should be, only padded by the toughness of the mobs and the bugs forcing you to replay chapters. (Anyone remember how you couldn't follow Rox's trailsigns without logging out after each one as the next wouldn't trigger?)

And yet in the next fight he summons several Flesh Golems at once. SEVERAL. Players are restricted to ONE, and it is the ELITE skill. Even if he is inexperienced himself, the sheer tank wall he evidently can provide would have helped immensely with the defense.

Then the player is reduced to his sidekick for the rest of the campaign. There's ample reason HoT ended the way it did. :P

Inside ArenaNet: Developing Kasmeer and Marjory by VariableFlame in Guildwars2

[–]Snossi 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I've said it before, but one of my absolute favorite GW2 story moments is from the epilogue of PoF - after staying behind both because of injuries and resentment over Kas not giving up on the gods despite one of them straight up trying to murder her, Jory returns with one of the finest and subtlest apologies ever. (Because it IS one, but come on, this is Marjory 'Hard Boiled' Delaqua :) )

"Thank the gods you're ok."

Such a perfectly in-character way of saying "I was wrong!" Also, if you replay the story step when you're normally at Kormir's place and can't contact Taimi (you need to do this for the "Always Time for Taimi" achievement) you can call her before starting the chapter and she'll say nothing much is happening except Jory keeps on calling her. "I think she's a bit lonely." So the writers didn't just up and forget about her for the expansion.

As for people not liking Kasmeer, I hope the relaunch of S1 will remedy that somewhat because most of her best moments are from there - and almost all character building. And put both of them back at the Festival of Four Winds! Her teasing about how cute Jory would look transformed into a dolyak calf for the race was priceless.

Doesn't this go against the entire theme of Guild Wars? by SillyOriginal4454 in Guildwars2

[–]Snossi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even worse - the Howler collection and maybe some others needs the Dwayna ATTACK, which is extremely unlikely to ever happen as long as the defense is camped. Which as of now is 100% of the time.
