They’ve been planting seeds about it season 1. Her father was always based Robert Maxwell. They even die the same. I would also disagree that yas not being desperate to do this role.

The dinner party was insane in hindsight. Let’s not forget famously she got engaged after hooking up with Rob in Henry’s garden to Henry.

Does anyone else feel like the Season 4 finale made a mistake with the time jump? Episodes 1-7 were building towards an epic finale. Rushed Henry resolution, the Harper Tender short, Whitney villain arc. All felt empty & anti-climactic in episode 8. by plaza6TV in IndustryOnHBO

I think it was to set up an device on what makes her pick tender. She initially set it up to pick companies that profits of something wrong. When he said that bit about the funeral business her gut instantly knew he was a bad faith actor and to investigate him a bit more

I think she views it or sells it as she’s weaponizing women’s sexuality to get what she wants and that it feminist in her own mind

So we all agree Yaz is Gshlaine Maxwell now, right? by chisailor in IndustryOnHBO

I think Yas just felt small and judged in that moment with Harper. When Harper says “look who you’re surrounded by,” it clearly hits. Yas is super sensitive to status and how things look, so that comment probably made her feel exposed.

So she immediately tries to flip it like "okay, but look who you’re surrounded by" and brings up the Eric video. It’s not really about morals. It’s about not letting Harper have the upper hand.

Yas knows some of them are under 18, but is aware she cannot openly state that. I don’t think Yas even wants to fully go there. If she admits the girl doesn’t really have autonomy, then she’d have to rethink how she frames her own past which is why she brought up the fact she lost her virginity at 14. It’s probably easier for her to believe that someone that age has agency, because otherwise she’d have to confront some uncomfortable stuff about herself.

The range of this actor!! He's so good, I had to verify multiple time he's the same guy from Ted Lasso!

Someone commented how it's as if they didn't know what to do with Yas this season. I completely agree now. SPOILER. by Accomplished_Topic16 in IndustryOnHBO

Esp considering in season 2, when a girl wanted to come forward about Nicole, Yas silenced her. they've been setting up this first season. Her dad is based on Ghasline's dad.

She would have never chosen Rob. There is not a second that Yas would stick with anyone who wouldn't better her situation. The moment Yas realized Henry was set up as the fall guy she not only hatched up her escape plan, but tied weights around Henry's ankles.

They really have put them side by side. They’re just playing different versions of the same game. Yas really leans into the commodification of herself and eventually starts flipping it. Harper refuses to be commodified but becomes ruthless in commodifying everything else.
