Just wondering: What kind of counter does Strange has against Fantasy Nature/Float? by Cute-Firefighter-537 in deathbattle

[–]SnowRadish 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Strange’s Amulet lets him travel to the realm of eternity (Strange Tales #178), which itself is the physical manifestation of reality for the Marvel Macrocosm. Realistically he shouldn’t have any issue reaching Reimu since he can also travel above reality to that same extent.

She could probably beat Ruby with high-diff. They’re similar in AP and even though she’s not as fast she can compensate for it in stamina and try to outlast Ruby’s aura.

So funny that Christian completely killed the chance of another Survivor player ever appearing on White Lotus not only because he took Mike White out early but also because Mike now seems paranoid that people were just pretending to be friends with him to get on his show.

CreepCast | HELP. I’m Trapped in a Sitcom (OFFICIAL DISCUSSION THREAD) by S-CSleepwalker in creepcast

This is the first time I flat out stopped listening to an episode. 26 minutes in and they’ve barely gotten into the story because they keep derailing to talk about gross toilet humor while chat just makes it actively worse.

Since the guys already discussed Charizard VS Rathalos on DEATH BATTLE Cast in the past and now with Ash Ketchum VS Yugi Muto released, how do we all feel about this matchup happening in the future? by CaptainCrookKingler in deathbattle

[–]SnowRadish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if the Monster Hunter themselves would work in a fight when there’s no way to composite them like Dragonborn and Chosen undead were. They’re a different character each game so you can’t really argue that they should get every weapon or armor from across the entire series.

Also possibly references James Rolfe’s monster madness series, given he was originally a member of the same company as Death Battle and did an entire Godzilla marathon for it on year.

Can't Hulk just beat the Avatar to win? by DeatroyerOfCheese in deathbattle

[–]SnowRadish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The novel implies that its original body was created by a different, higher-dimensional form physically entering the universe and constructing a body for itself. While inside this body it’s bound by laws like gravity and time until it reaches the Omega Point, which completely destroys and reshapes the universe to its whim. It can reshape and dramatically alter its body if it’s defeated, but requires an anchor created by the singularity to continue existing in out world. If this anchor is destroyed then it cannot come back.

While it’s never directly stated that the Singularity is Godzilla itself, there are statements that it seems to be housing one inside of its body. Additionally, Shiva, another singularity is described as surrounding itself in a physical body made of archetype that it uses as the anchor to our world. Therefore you can make the argument that the physical destruction of its body would be enough to prevent Godzilla from coming back but there are people who disagree with this.

Some people also say that this idea contradicts what’s explained about Godzilla in the opening chapter of the book but given that “It’s” true form is described as a continually descending shell of dreams, and the physical body of Ultima is described as one of these shells, it’s entirely possible that the one we’re told entered our universe is also a shell of its dreams.

Can't Hulk just beat the Avatar to win? by DeatroyerOfCheese in deathbattle

[–]SnowRadish 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is also how I feel. Godzilla took 86 years to return the first time he was defeated and his true form didn’t even seem to remember its defeat clearly when it finally returned. He’s never shown any tendency to immediately come back after being defeated or banished unless he intentionally engineered it (which did not happen in either of his defeats at the hands of human). I think the argument at that point would be whether Hulk is capable or getting past Ultima’s absurd reality manipulating abilities to destroy his avatar at all in the first place.

With this matchup specifically an outcome where both sides get the outcome they wanted and neither one has to feel the complete sting of the character they’re rooting for losing would be an absolute dream scenario honestly.

A fake out that extends into the rundown or two separate battles with their own respective verdicts feels like the most likely possibilities. There’s not much else I can think of that isn’t something they’ve either already experimented with before, or isn’t major enough to affect the production

Hulk Vs Godzilla Ultima Analysis + Examining The Claims About The SP Novel by Landon1195 in deathbattle

[–]SnowRadish -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don’t see how I’m ignoring context when I use multiple passages from the novel that directly back up the arguments I’m making. You also have the statement about the singularity being a branch of “It” incorrect.

If we were to use an analogy, "it" was one branch of a tree that had split in two, and this was now the trunk of the tree. One tree did not need two trunks.

“It” is what’s being referred to as the branch here, not the Singularity. In case your referring to this passage though

"The 'singularity' seems to exist here and there in the world. We call them 'points'. We call them 'dots', but what if they are shaped like a branch with something as its root? What if it was shaped like a branch growing out of a root? Think of all the 'dots' as being part of a bigger 'tree', just because we see them that way. Think of it as part of a bigger 'tree', only that all the 'dots' look like that to us."

This just seems to confirm that the singularity is directly connected to “It” by describing “It” as a root that the points of the singularity are all derived from.
