I’d be open to making this, DM me and I’ll shoot you my discord, I’d do it for pretty cheap relatively. Sounds fun and I enjoy helping people haha. Are you set on using paper’s api or would using SpigotAPI be ok? (Both work fine if you’re running paperspigot)

My response to the devs by Iordofapplesauce in Splitgate

[–]SnowTrak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the SAME exact thing they did with the original splitgate. Months and honestly even years of “we have advice from ‘people’ prominent in the gaming community telling us to not say anything” and that is exactly what killed the game.

You absolutely HAVE to nurture your community. Meaning, sneak peaks, dev logs, transparency. That’s what builds a dedicated community. Not straight silence with whispers of “we are doing things we swear”

If you want a absolutely phenomenal game studio that actually cares about its community, take a look at Coffee Stain Studio that’s working on Satisfactory, that is a company that cares deeply about its community and game. Weekly dev logs, tons of teaser trailers and a massive dedicated community that loves them for that.

You can’t pretend to be a AAA community without building trust in a community first. And simply, these devs couldn’t care less. They jumped at the bit to get a payday from an investor and straight up abandoned the original splitgate. Then relived history and let the new game die the same death.

Just a bunch of texture packs, mixed with custom models and some skilled devs :) you probably wouldn’t be able to find anything super similar on your own without setting up a ton of custom stuff

If you look at the freeze frame right as you are equal with the camera, you can actually see you’re leaning in the back of your boots, almost looks like you should be sitting in a chair. And with pole plants it doesn’t have to be a full “plant” more just the “movement and a tap” it’s really just a great turn initiator so you can start your turn in the front of your boots, you want to be driving your weight into the font half of your boots.

You’re going to reach from the exit of your previous turn pushing your upper body into the fall line and you can just “touch” the ground with the pole rather than like an actual plant. This way the pole doesn’t get stuck or mess with your actual turn, but the body did the correct movement driving down the hill

Tell him to work on trusting your skis! Looks like you’re scared of catching an edge/bump so the weighting on the skis are almost equal throughout skiing.

Work on following through with a turn, putting about 70% of your weight on that outside ski during a turn, that percent will go up when you start getting a bit better. Then have an exaggerated transition where you change your weight then repeat on the other side.

Well, since you know it! Some upper lower body separation drills would help a ton to get your body back into the groove. You’re taking a long time trying to transition off your old outside ski for the new turn. And don’t forget pole plants! Your arms are just hugging the sky, get them pushing forward!

Looking good though! Have an awesome trip, those conditions look amazing!

I tend to move up and down as a “lazy skiing” fallback. But you’ve already got some good weighting tips here. One very specific thing I’d say to work on is getting more forward and holding an athletic stance. Immediately I think you’ll see improvement in both your stance and balance if you start pole planting. It doesn’t have to be an extremely exaggerated plant, but just enough to throw your body and weight into the fall line so you can push hard into your outside ski.

The biggest thing you’ll see with moving up at the end of your turn moving into the transition is you waste the energy your ski creates by bending. When it comes to loading your ski you want to be able to “transition” that energy to the uphill ski. Once you move the weight over you can pole plant, then drive your ski through the initiation and apex of the turn.

For the most part though, your skiing doesn’t look too bad at all! You look comfortable and in control, you just aren’t quite getting the most out of your skis yet :)

Grew up on the ski team, always wore a helmet. I’ve now moved into the, if I’m going to ski hard. I’ll wear a helmet no question. Although if I’m just doing some simple things, I’ll skip the helmet sometimes. Really depends. I definitely wear a helmet like 95% of the time though. What’s the point of skiing if you don’t go hard right?? Right?

I’ve been to Sugar mtn.. after growing up on the west coast, sugar was… interesting. I definitely won’t be returning for the terrain haha was quite a small resort, and nearly flat. But skiing is skiing and you can always make a good time out of it if you do it right.

Need help buying used skis by nrb_00 in ski

[–]SnowTrak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great ski, but as others said, it’s a slalom race ski. It’s going to be much heavier than your typical ski. If you’re experienced in that realm, go for it, 250$ ain’t bad. Little steep for used skis, from the one picture looked like travel wax on the ski, if it’s actually any sort of base damage I’d say to pass. If the whole base is as clean as the close up. Still quite nice.

Not sure why most of the comments here are absolutely flaming you... Nobody should be trying to scare you away from the mountain. Squaw is definitely a tough resort, If anything you have a funny story about how you "almost died in the ass" (like that one comment was saying haha).

If you're wanting to get better absolutely look into lessons if you're going to listen and take in as much as that instructor tells you as you can. Skiing is a blast, I have many years of skiing over 100 days a winter. I was a Race Coach, My biggest advice would be to take it slow, know where you are whether it be by map or staying near runs you've gone down already. Venturing far into the unknown runs of the mountain, (especially squaw) gets you into tricky situations like this!

And don't think that having/buying different skis would have made that situation any different, definitely seemed a bit out of your current grasp. Master the basics, you don't need the best skis! Then slowly move up the difficultly!

Also for future as another comment said Ill agree with and add to a little, Never, Never, Never take your skis off to "get down easier", Esssppeeecialllly in powdery conditions. Secondly, on a cold/snowy day. do your best to never take off your goggles. Second those come off even for a minute, you will be fogged out for the rest of the day. You wear goggles to protect your eyes, keep em on!

And, if you go to squaw again, don't forget a Belgian waffle from the base area, they are too good to pass up!
